EPISODE REVIEW - EMMERDALE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS AS THE STORM DRAMA CONTINUES...

Following on from last night's (16th October) special one hour anniversary episode which saw some fantastic scenes and stunts delivered, Emmerdale continued their special anniversary week's worth of episodes tonight (17th October). Tonight's episode was written by Andrew Kirk and directed once again like last night's by Ian Bevitt.

The episode started back with Kim Tate and Harriet Finch following the lightning strike that saw Kim on the ground after being thrown into the air during the explosion, and Harriet laying dead seeing an emotional Kim apologise. However, it was Dan Spencer who discovered Harriet's body, I'm a mess that character deserved better. Katherine Dow Blyton - thank you for all your fabulous moments as Harriet over the years, and I wish you all the very best for the future!
Back at Home Farm, Kim arrived back to Home Farm informing her new husband, Will along with his daughter, Dawn and her husband, Billy Fletcher about what happened out there as she told them about Harriet and her death leaving everyone shocked! I'm here for the caring side of Kim.
The panic side of Dawn towards her father and towards the thought of Clemmie and Lucas having to learn the truth. Olivia Bromley, you are a fantastic actress.

As Dan continued to look for his daughter, Amelia Spencer who was in a barn taking shelter, and struggling as her labour intensified as you could see how terrified she was becoming in the situation. The determination to protect herself and her unborn baby quickly becoming her priority. However, it was when Lydia Dingle opened the barn door and stood there after finding Amelia in her most vulnerable state, the assurance was very much needed. I am glad someone found her.
Daisy Campbell continues to portray vulnerability extremely well. Daisy needs to be recognised for the past two episodes alone, just my opinion. There is something about the realistic use of the scenes that showed how much research, Daisy has done for this storyline.

Also tonight, Nicola King and Charles Anderson worked together and helping one another in a time of need. The small comedy moments were appreciated.
Al Chapman having to chose between his girlfriend, Kerry Wyatt have a tree fallen on top of her, and Chas Dingle who he is having an affair with ended up with a head injury it was obvious that he was going to take care of Chas, I just hope Kerry realises the truth and soon.
Vinny standing up to Aaron Dingle for his wife, Liv was beautiful to see, showing so much about his character.
It was great to see the farming element of Emmerdale, as a farmer's granddaughter these scenes made me anxious. The jump from Sam as the cows stampede came which left Nate Robinson injured was an interesting one especially as the camera panned at the end of the episode to him with a head injury. I wasn't expecting that. What a cliff hanger, yes I screamed!

This episode of Emmerdale aired tonight (Monday 17th October) on ITV at 7.30pm with Emmerdale continuing tomorrow (Tuesday 18th October) at 7.30pm.
