EP REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - SONGS TO SAY I DO

Today (Friday 14th October) will see US newcomer singer-songwriter, Kylie Morgan release her brand new EP called Songs To Say I Do.

Songs To Say I Do is made up of 5 songs which were all co-written by Kylie.

Fireworks has a soft, yet by the end a lovely upbeat instrumental allowing for Kylie's crisp vocal to shine through allowing for such honesty to be showcased throughout the verses of this single. There is something so magical and pure that allows for us listeners to come into her world. The chorus is full of a lot of happy memories filled with those special moments, even though there are moments that you can hear about the hurt she has been through. The development of Fireworks in one of pure brilliance that I am very grateful to see especially as Kylie doesn't shy away from the hurt that she has been through, and these are the songs that country music lovers enjoy hearing the most.

Good Hands starts with a soft piano instrumental allowing for this purity within the song to come through straight away. The passion that Kylie gives out within Good Hands shows so much of who she has become as an artist, and that she believes in herself and her music giving us listeners the opportunity to see her grow. The chorus for me in full of a lot of mixed emotions about these moments where that special person sees the good and bad, yet they only see the good as they believe in you. I love the sentimental feel that is shown throughout. The second verse is my favourite due to the incredible songwriting, and journey within the lyrics. The chorus blends perfectly into all three verses allowing for them all to feel mixed emotions following their prior verses.

Bridesmaids has an upbeat instrumental throughout which becomes a little softer as the song continues.
Both verses of Bridesmaids are beautiful as they see Kylie giving thanks to her closest friends as she asks them to be apart of her special day! The reasons that Kylie gives for each other her friends is just beautiful showing so much appreciate for every single one of them The lyrics are incredibly precious ones that continue to have a lot of a appreciation in them, showing how grateful she is for each and every single one of their friendships - the amount of love that Kylie has is fantastic. Kylie's crisp vocal tone is stunning throughout adding this beautiful layer to the song that is full of female empowerment!

Always Been You offers a soft dreamy piano instrumental to start. The first verse is filled with a lot of emotion has listeners are treated to Kylie wearing her heart on her sleeve during the song as a whole allowing for us to get a sneak peak into her life with Jay - their love journey is something that appears to be a rather special and magical one. With the mentions of their family members, I got even more emotional as Kylie singing about how much love she has for Jay is something that is so raw. The mentions of the special date got me thinking, and it's those attention to details that make for a pure song. The more, i heard the chorus the more I fell in love with the song and it's meaning.

That's My Man is a song that is uplifting from the very first instrumental note that was shared. The first verse is full of Kylie's joyful vocal tone that is fantastic to hear as it allows for listeners of this EP to hear another side of who Kylie is as an artist. The pure honesty within the song is something that I absolutely love and appreciate hearing showing us what a special kind of artist, Kylie is! The chorus purely brilliant, and of a pop country feel that I personally really love thanks to the really country music that I loved hearing and got me into country in the first place, its these moments that make it special for me. Such a feel good song.
