EP REVIEW - ELERI ANGHARAD - A MERRY ELERI CHRISTMAS

This Friday (3rd December) will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter,  Eleri Angharad  release her brand new EP called A Merry Eleri Christmas. A Merry Eleri Christmas is made up of 4 tracks - 2 originals, 1 classic Christmas song and a Justin Bieber cover. Homemade Christmas  has a joyful upbeat Christmassy instrumental that I have to say instantly took me off into another world. The first verse sees Eleri's soft vocal at the forefront allowing for her this purity within her voice to shine through with the most magical lyrics that you can hear mean so much to her. Christmas is a time of joy, and this song is definitely one of those moments where you remember. I adore the lyrics, and how more people will be able to relate it to theirs. The chorus features some of the most gorgeous lyrics that get you thinking about our loved ones and about our memories of Christmas past and present. The second verse of Homemade Christmas continues with a warm magical feel bringing a lot of e

SINGLE REVIEW - ABBY ANDERSON - INSECURE

Today (Friday 19th November) will see US singer-songwriter,  Abby Anderson  who is releasing her brand new single, Insecure. Insecure is a country-pop song. Insecure  starts with an upbeat guitar instrumental which sets the tone of the song wonderfully allowing for Abby's softer tone to be displayed right from the start. The first verse of Insecure sees the listeners let into Abby's world with such vulnerability giving them a beautiful opportunity to see what a fantastic singer-songwriter she is. The relationships feels you get from the song are everything adding so many layers to this song that many with appreciate. The chorus sees a purity within Abby's softer vocals letting us listeners into another way of her thinking making for even more beautiful moments. The vulnerability within the songs lyrics are perfect, and have this fantastic feel that I really enjoyed listening too - female empowerment! The second verse of Insecure continues with a sassy side to the song and i

ALBUM REVIEW - GABBY BARRETT - GOLDMINE DELUXE

Image
Today (Friday 19th November) will see US singer-songwriter,  Gabby Barrett  release her debut album, Goldmine The Deluxe Version. Goldmine Deluxe features 17 songs which Gabby has written 13 of. Courtesy of Warner Music Nashville I Hope  starts with dark feeling guitar instrumental which I instantly loved. The first verse showcases Gabby's softer meaningful vocal which allows the listeners to get to know who Gabby is as an artist and what she is capable felt remaining true to herself as an singer/ songwriter. The lyrics are ones you can tell Gabby has written right from the start. The chorus is super catchy and one that a lot of people will be able to relate too - when they were in love with that certain person and they cheated on them and its definitely an anthem which I completely adore. The lyrics are so fantastically written from the very first word to the very end, I had goosebumps. The second verse continues the song in a wonderful way telling it from a different point of vie

GEMMA ATKINSON RETURNS TO HOLLYOAKS IN GUEST ROLE

Actress, and Radio Presenter,  Gemma Atkinson will soon start filming once again as fan-favourite Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks. After bursting onto our screens in 2001 as part of the much-loved Hunter family alongside her Mum Sally, Dad Les, brothers, Dan and Lee, and sister Ellie.  I loved watching the Hunter family growing up. Gemma was involved in some high-profile storylines during her time on the show including two which she is remembered for as it helped many young people. There was something so special about this character that saw her change and develop through these hard hitting storylines. Alongside her former foe and later, best friend Zara Morgan, Lisa quickly became a very important character who was known for explosive secrets and causing mischief wherever they went. Lisa will make a shock return from the past leading to dramatic scenes with old friend Zara Morgan.  I am so excited for Gemma and Kelly Condron to share scenes once again! Talking about her return to the Channe

SINGLE REVIEW - ALEX HUGHES - AFTER 31

Image
Today (Friday 12th November) will see Canadian Pop-Country singer-songwriter,  Alex Hughes  release her brand new single, After 31. Photo Credit:  Aaron Reimer After 31  has a soft and sweet instrumental which adds this wonderful layer to the song before any lyrics have been sung. The first verse sees Alex's softer vocal range at the forefront allowing for this really heartfelt message about life within the lyrics that instantly got me thinking about my own relationship with my mum. The emotion alone within this first verse has an incredibly sentimental feel having me in tears many times. After 31 is a life song that everyone is able to relate with one way or another with that person who bought them up! The chorus features some of the most wonderfully thought about lyrics that see another dynamic bought to this songs meaning in a way that allowed me to find a new appreciation for the lyrics, and how the song is one of growth as we grow up. The crisp vocal from Alex during this vers

INTERVIEW WITH CANADIAN SINGER-SONGWRITER, SYKAMORE

Today, I am here with an interview I have wanted to do for so long and one that I was starting to think would never happen but somehow me and Sykamore have managed too. Sykamore is country singer-songwriter from Carseland, Alberta, Canada. Afternoon, Sykamore.  Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to interview you! You are literally making me extremely happy right now. Of course! Happy to do it. How are you? I’m doing great! I’ve been back in Nashville for a few weeks now, I spent a month back in Canada with my family so that was really fun. Getting back to work is great for my brain though. That's wonderful to hear. I am glad you got to go back to Canada to see your family. Now to talk about your music, back in January Cheap Thrills was  released as your first single of 2021 in Stay Broke - how was that release for you? It all went really well! It was my first American release that didn’t seem to be in the shadow of Covid so that was really exciting, and we received a

SINGLE REVIEW - PRISCILLA BLOCK - PEAKED IN HIGH SCHOOL

Today (Friday 5th November) will see US singer-songwriter,  Priscilla Block  release her brand new single, Peaked In High School. Peaked In High School  has a guitar instrumental which I have to say sets the tone of the song up brilliantly allowing for this softer sweet sentiment.  The first verse sees Priscilla's crisp vocal range at the forefront allowing for many high school memories to be shared with us listeners in a way that allows for us listeners to reflect on our own time in high school making it even more of a beautiful song. I love the attention to detail which Priscilla goes into and the honesty is something that I appreciate so much. I love how the more the song develops and more memories are shared giving us these wonderfully special moments that see her reflecting on our own choices throughout her high school years (and for the better, look at you now, Priscilla!) The chorus features many gorgeous lyrics that I have to admit I adored as it doesn't paint this pret
