GEMMA ATKINSON RETURNS TO HOLLYOAKS IN GUEST ROLE

Actress, and Radio Presenter, Gemma Atkinson will soon start filming once again as fan-favourite Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks.

After bursting onto our screens in 2001 as part of the much-loved Hunter family alongside her Mum Sally, Dad Les, brothers, Dan and Lee, and sister Ellie. I loved watching the Hunter family growing up.

Gemma was involved in some high-profile storylines during her time on the show including two which she is remembered for as it helped many young people. There was something so special about this character that saw her change and develop through these hard hitting storylines.

Alongside her former foe and later, best friend Zara Morgan, Lisa quickly became a very important character who was known for explosive secrets and causing mischief wherever they went.

Lisa will make a shock return from the past leading to dramatic scenes with old friend Zara Morgan. I am so excited for Gemma and Kelly Condron to share scenes once again!

Talking about her return to the Channel 4 soap, Gemma says: “I’m thrilled to be popping back to Hollyoaks for a short time. It’s where my career began so of course, I was going to say yes! The cast and crew are so wonderful and although we have stayed in touch personally, it’ll be great to work together again professionally.”

Since leaving Chester, Gemma's character Lisa has found love with her activist boyfriend in Thailand, which is where she connected with old school friend Zara. But is there an ulterior motive behind her surprise visit?

Since leaving Hollyoaks, Gemma has gone on to work on fellow soap Emmerdale as Carly Hope, Casualty as pandemic Tamzin Bayle, and Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.
