SINGLE REVIEW - KELSEA BALLERINI - HOLE IN THE BOTTLE

Today (Friday 28th February) will see US singer-songwriter,  Kelsea Ballerini release her latest single, Hole In The Bottle. Hole In The Bottle is taken from her album due out on 20th March. Hole In The Bottle starts with a guitar instrumental which supports Kelsea's softer more soulful vocals as she comes in on the first verse with some of the most of the most honest lyrics about that time when you go out for one drink and watch everyone else in the bar. The lyrics into the first verse give you a real sense of a different direction in which Kelsea is going with this song and I happen to like it. The chorus features some rather catchy lyrics which allow her to show off Kelsea's wonderful joyful vocal range. I caught myself wanting to dance a little to this part of the song and this is something I love from country songs. The second verse continues Hole In The Bottle in the most wonderful way as you can really hear how much Kelsea believes in her own song-writing abili

INTERVIEW WITH REYA JAYNE AS SHE RELEASES HER DEBUT SINGLE, HOMELESS TODAY

Today (Friday 21st February) will see British singer-songwriter,  Reya Jayne release her debut single, Homeless. Good Morning, Reya Jayne. Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview with me about your debut single, Homeless . How are you feeling on the release day of your debut single? Thank you so much for having me! I could not be more excited for the world to finally hear this song! Definitely a mixture of nerves and excitement, but I know what’s still to come and it only gets better from here - this is just the start! Could you please tell us a little about your debut single, Homeless? Homeless  in many ways could be described as a coming of age song. It really tells my story of moving away from home and figuring out what my path is both in my life and my music simultaneously. I think a lot of young people can relate to that in their own way. What inspired you to write Homeless? I wrote homeless on my first ever trip to Nashville last year – it started out jus

DEBUT SINGLE REVIEW - REYA JAYNE - HOMELESS

This Friday (21st February) will see British singer-songwriter, Reya Jayne release her debut single, Homeless. Homeless starts with a guitar instrumental which gets me into the song instantly. The first verse demonstrates Reya Jayne's softer vocals with extremely meaningful lyrics which is something I love and instantly felt myself connecting with. I love the different perspectives of the song and what they mean because each and every single one of them I caught myself thinking about my family and how they feel when they can't always help you. The chorus is part of the song which I caught myself getting so emotional over and wanting to have a little cry but that's only thanks to all the emotional lyrics being so beautifully sung. The second verse of Homeless continues the story telling within this song wonderfully and the part of the song which is about the times after you have moved whilst still feeling a little lost. I caught myself going off into my own world as t

ALBUM REVIEW - CARLY PEARCE SELF-TITLED SOPHOMORE ALBUM OUT NOW

Last Friday (14th February) saw US singer-songwriter, Carly Pearce release her self-titled sophomore album. The album is made up of 13 tracks. Closer To You is one of my favourite songs. Closer To You starts with a guitar instrumental which gives the song such a wonderful and funky feel to it. The first verse instantly makes me want to sing whilst also thinking about my loved ones and what they are doing as I am listening to the song. The chorus is one that you can definitely tell Carly is singing about her husband, Michael Ray in which makes the song have even more meaning which I adore. The lyrics are ones written from the heart and that is something that is so magical. The second verse continues the magically ness of the song in such a beautiful way and one that allows the listeners to hearing a completely different side of the Carly's vocals. Call Me starts with a upbeat, funky instrumental which I love and it's brings so much life to the album. The first verse is on

SINGLE REVIEW - LAURA OAKES - BETTER IN BLUE JEANS

Today (Friday 14th February) will see Liverpool based singer-songwriter, Laura Oakes release her brand new single, Better In Blue Jeans. Better In Blue Jeans starts with an uptempo party kind of feeling complimented very simply by Laura's stunningly beautiful soulful vocals supported by a guitar instrumental. The first verse gives you this fairytale kind of vibe which I adore and mixed with the verse starting with Laura's medium vocal range which gives the song that little bit more energy and I adore Laura's style for this song so much. The lyrics are simply stunning and tell such a beautifully gorgeous story relationship fairytale journey within the song which continues to the chorus beautifully. The chorus of Better In Blue Jeans is my favourite part of the song and right from the very start of the chorus starting I caught myself singing along whilst having a little dance. The energy within the chorus and the happiness the lyrics bring is something that I absolute

SINGLE REVIEW - MACKENZIE PORTER - SEEING OTHER PEOPLE

Image
Today (Friday 7th February) will see Canadian singer-songwriter, Mackenzie Porter releasing her latest single, Seeing Other People. Photo Credit: Bree Marie Fish Seeing Other People starts with a slower instrumental piano and drum which for me brings a lot of emotion before Mackenzie has even started singing. The first verse is from that moment where she's seen her ex with his new girl and she's questioning everything about what his doing in his new relationship and whether their relationship was based on a lie for the whole time. I am so glad Mackenzie has released this song as one of her singles because it is stunning and the emotions are spot on. The chorus features some wonderfully emotional lyrics allowing Mackenzie to show off her emotive vocal range and the lyrics are so moving and raw, which at times I have to admit brings me to tears. Mackenzie's songwriting is something that is so rare that I am honestly so grateful for her choosing to release Seeing Oth

DEBUT EP REVIEW - TENILLE TOWNES - ROAD TO THE LEMONADE STAND

Tomorrow (Friday 7th February) will see Canadian singer-songwriter,  Tenille Townes release her debut EP, Road To The Lemonade Stand. Road To The Lemonade Stand is made up of 6 songs with 5 being written by Tenille and alongside co-writers whilst track 6 was written by Dave Berg, Deanne Bryant and Sarah Buxton. Holding Out For The One starts with an upbeat instrumental which I have to admit I love for the start of Tenille's latest EP. The first verse demonstrates Tenille's happy and little rockier vocal range allowing Tenille's song-writing to shine through with the lyrics being catchy. The lyrics is one hell of a catchy one which allows the listeners to get a real feel for the song and the message that she is trying to get out there with this song. The second verse continues the story within the song in the most wonderful way and you can hear the rollercoaster of the journey in which Tenille has been or is going through at the moment. The bridge shows some of the ca
