WHY CINDY BEALE'S RETURN TO EASTENDERS IS BRILLIANT

I won't pretend that I was entirely pleased when I heard about Cindy Beale's return to the show, but since the episodes have aired I have to say I absolutely loved it. There was something so fantastic about Michelle Collins coming back to EastEnders even if I do still have lots of questions about her return and her past, but knowing EastEnders the writers will tell us when they want us to know (which I hope is soon!) Even though I had guessed Cindy was going to be Anna and Gina Knight's mum the moment I remembered that Cindy had a sister called Gina - it was fantastic to see it revealed in Wednesday's episode (21st June). However, it was Thursday's episode (22nd June) that saw the viewer in me very happy with the return of Lauren Branning played by the brilliant Jacqueline Jossa as well as the original Peter Beale in Thomas Law being a fantastic move as there was something about the first Peter's vulnerability that was brilliant and it was interesting to see how

Image
Today (Friday 23rd June) will see  Tigirlily Gold  made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista release their brand EP called Blonde. Blonde is made up of 4 tracks, and being released via Monument Records. You can read my interview with Kendra and Krista  here . Blonde  starts with a guitar instrumental from Krista which sets the tone for the song perfectly with Kendra's soft vocal tones coming in on the first verse. The first verse sees Kendra's sassy side come through that I have to say is brilliant with lyrics that are wonderfully written. Ahead of the chorus both sisters Kendra and Krista on lead vocals showcasing their fantastic harmonies and there wonderful bond with the lyrics. The storytelling within the lyrics are brilliant especially as the catchy lyrics of the song comes in thanks to the party vibes that the song comes in with - I can definitely see why people at C2C 2 weeks ago were loving this song was such an atmosphere. The second verse continues fantastically with the

We are doing so well! This year has been so incredible already! It’s good to hear from you again! How are you feeling about the world hearing this EP? We are so thrilled for the world to hear this EP. We spent over a year writing & recording it, and we truly feel that this is our best work yet! Blonde is made up of 4 tracks, how did you decide on them? This EP is the first teaser of a record that is coming later on, so when choosing the first four songs to showcase, we wanted to show our fun, energetic side with “Shoot Tequila,” “Blonde,” & “Move On” while still showing a little bit more serious side with “Hometown Song.” What was the process like from writing to re

SINGLE REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - WHEN WE WERE FRIENDS

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter,  Alana Springsteen  has released a brand new track, When We Were Friends today (Friday 16th June). When We Were Friends is from Alana's debut album, Twenty Something. Photo Credit: Lily Nelson When We Were Friends   has a brilliant guitar instrumental that can be heard throughout the track. I loved the way that Alana isn't afraid to be vulnerable within this track with the moments in a friendship that we love and appreciate, however, when we lose the friendship with that person the lyrics quickly become emotional ones, but thanks to Alana's honesty within this song it will help many people realise that they are not alone if some of their friendships have disappeared/ broken down. It's the lyrics within the chorus that made me extremely emotional as it reminded me of my friendship with one of my best friend in childhood that I regret us falling out with in our teenage years. It was the mention of moving to Amer

Glory Days was written by Gabby and co-written with Emily Weisband, Seth Mosley, and James McNair. Glory Days was produced by Gabby alongside Ross Copperman. Photo Credit: Robby Klein Glory Days  has an upbeat instrumental to begin that supports the song brilliantly throughout. The first verses sees Gabby's crisp vocal at the forefront with her soulful lyrics. The storytelling throughout Glory Days is beautiful and you can hear how much Gabby has developed as a singer in this verse especially as the nostalgic feel that took me back to my childhood allowing for a moment of reflection. The chorus features some of the most beautiful lyrics that blend into every single verse wonderfully as they allow you to relate them with our own lives - something that is very special to me. To me the verses also see Gabby allowing us listeners into her life for a moment with the moments t

EP REVIEW - BROOKE EDEN - OUTLAW LOVE

Image
Today (Friday 9th June) American singer-songwriter,  Brooke Eden  released her brand new EP called Outlaw Love. Outlaw Love is made up of 4 songs all co-written by Brooke, produced by Lindsay Rimes. Whispering  has an upbeat instrumental giving me the Brooke, I know and love. The storytelling on this track is stunning and the lyrics are perfectly suited. The chorus is beautiful with a great outlook which I have to admit made me emotional with some powerful moments. I really appreciate how brave Brooke has been throughout Whispering sharing her relationship with us as you can feel their love story within the lyrics. The softer chorus towards the end of the song is stunning before the uptempo one kicks in. Whispering is the perfect song to open this EP with. WOW, so many tears streamed during this song. Chills has a softer crisp summer feeling with the way that the song flows throughout is just fantastic as you can hear so many layers of Brooke's vocal tones throughout showcasing man

NIAMH BLACKSHAW'S TIME ON HOLLYOAKS COMES TO AN END AS JULIET DIES

During tonight's First Look episode (7th June) of the Chester based soap Hollyoaks, viewers saw an emotional episode air as Juliet Nightingale passed away from her battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Throughout this week's episodes, viewers have seen Juliet spent time with her loved ones ticking things off her bucket list as well as  making some memories for her loved ones to remember her by and to make her smile.  The way that Hollyoaks have written this week's episodes have been fantastic, the dialogue has been amazing. The attention to detail has been wonderful and something that has honestly left me really emotional at times. There has been something so captivating about tonight's first look episode saw Juliet taken on a trip down memory lane which her girlfriend, Peri Lomax put together seeing some fantastic camera shots used that saw Juliet share some final family moments in some incredibly emotional scenes. It was the moment that Peri and Juliet were alone that got m
