Named after their proud North Dakota roots and their previously released song of the same name, "Country & Midwestern" the album is a celebration of a region often overlooked in Country music conversations despite embodying the very spirit the genre was built on. *HOLLYOAKS OPINION* WHY THE CHANGE IN FRANKIE OSBORNE IS FOR THE BETTER

Image
It's been a long time since I wrote an opinion piece on Hollyoaks and Frankie Osborne especially. However, the past few weeks have seen a change in the character, and one I am enjoying seeing even though, I have a feeling the character will end up being the one to get hurt. Since the car crash, the character was injured in back in April, it's safe to say that Frankie Osborne's direction has taken a turn since her dance school journey was put on hold due to her injury, however since the Keanes' have arrived a new side of Frankie has been shown since meeting her now boyfriend, Caleb who was also injured in the crash alongside Jack's daughter, Beth, her husband Jonah and son, Maddox. However with Frankie already knowing too much about Caleb's step-mum, Beth Keane after discovering a box hidden under her bed with a teddy bear, and a ripped photo hiding the truth. Last week's episodes saw the fiery side of Frankie Osborne arrive once again following Leah Barnes...

NEXT WEEK ON EMMERDALE: ARE SERENA'S SECRETS ABOUT TO BE REVEALED?

Image
From the very moment, Serena Sugden arrived in Emmerdale there have been many questions raised through her behaviour especially as she continues to ask questions about John Sugden. When Serena hides her laptop research from both Robert Sugden, and Vanessa Woodfield - questions are asked. However, Vanessa tells Moira Dingle that Serena was asking questions about John Sugden leading to Moira warning Robert that Serena must never know the truth about John. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale Meanwhile, Kev Townsend suddenly remembers where he knows Serena from and tell Robert. I have a mixed feeling about this, but if there is a prison connection I wouldn't be surprised. Yet Aaron Dingle remains distrustful of Serena,  and who can blame him always wanting to protect Robert from any hurt. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale  The next day, whilst walking in the field, Robert is struck unconscious by a runaway farm trailer. Aaron is suspicious that Serena happened to be at the scene. Aaron and hi...

NEXT WEEK ON CORONATION STREET: BETSY LOOKS TO THE FUTURE, AS DISASTER STRIKES

Image
During next week's visit to Weatherfield, Coronation Street viewers will see Betsy Swain and Dylan Wilson look to their future, that is until disaster hits. The week begins with Betsy Swain making a disastrous attempt at cooking breakfast for Dylan Wilson, Betsy asks him for some cooking lessons, but whilst showing Betsy how to make a bolognaise, he assures her that they'll make their long distance relationship work. Betsy smiles and they hug. Although, it's not long until disaster strikes when an ambulance pulls away from Number 6 with its siren blaring. At the hospital, Ryan Connor explains to Carla Connor-Swain how he returned home to find Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor. Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street At Betsy's bedside a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa Connor-Swain that they are taking Betsy for an MRI Scan. As Dylan arrives to see Betsy but comes running out of the room telling Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Car...

*OPINION* WHY SERENA'S ARRIVAL HAS OPENED MANY DOORS

Image
From the very moment that Serena Sugden arrived on our screens during Tuesday 23rd June's episode of Emmerdale during a worrying time for Charity Dingle. There was something within Serena and Charity's heart-to-heart that saw Charity have a moment of realisation that the truth needed to be revealed for everyone's sake. However, it was the moment that Serena came face-to-face with Sarah Sugden after she broke into Emmerdale Farm looking for her cousin, Robert Sugden. However, it was during Tuesday's episode (30th June), that Serena reunited with him where she was asking a lot of questions about John Sugden with Robert informing her much to her jokes that all those things she heard John actually did, I do wonder if she knows more than she is letting on. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale It was during this week's episode where Serena began questioning Aaron and Robert's relationship got me thinking that maybe there is a lot more to why she is really in the village and ...

ALBUM REVIEW - THE SHIRES - BONFIRE

Image
Today (Friday 3rd July) British country duo,  The Shires  made up of singer-songwriters, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have released their brand new album, Bonfire which is made up of 12 tracks. Opening up the new era of The Shires' music and album is  Bonfire Song which is an upbeat song which I personally feel opens up this album up brilliantly. There is something beautifully about Ben's opening vocals that made me want to get up and dance, whilst also reminding me why I enjoy The Shires' music so much. Crissie and Ben's harmonies within the chorus are beautifully soulful, setting up the second verse wonderfully for Crissie with Ben's harmonies continuing. Getaway Car  is a brilliantly written song and a great first release of their new album. Crissie and Ben's tones together especially in the first verse, along with their harmonies are beautiful giving a raw feel. The chorus is filled with many catchy lyrics that honestly made me want to instantly sing along -...
