PETER BARLOW BIDS FAREWELL TO CORONATION STREET

Image
During tonight's Boxing Day episode (26th December) of Coronation Street, viewers saw Peter and Carla Barlow is a very special episode which led to Peter leaving Weatherfield. This special episode featured fan favourites Peter and Carla Barlow as they hit a rough patch in their marriage leading to some home truths being revealed. After everything the couple have been through recently you could see the strain in Carla's eyes and the way that Alison King delivered the dialogue with such emotion that she had Peter's best interests at heart. Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street The scenes in the flat were rather emotional and you could see how much all Carla wanted was/ is the best for her husband even if it is hurting them both but I personally feel like Carla has a point. The love between the characters is and always will be there despite what happens next for them! Alison King and Chris Gascoyne deliver the best emotional scenes whilst nailing emotions that go with it first

CHRISTMAS DAY EASTENDERS REVIEW

I have watched EastEnders since I was a young girl, however, have struggled to watch it live since lockdown but last night's Christmas Day episode (25th December) was just incredible. From the very moment we were shown what was going to happen during this year's Christmas episode back in February, I can honestly say I have been hooked. Thank you for a brilliant lead up. All of the SIX involved - Kathy Beale, Stacey Slater, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Denise Fox and Suki Panesar have led me to changing my mind on many occasions even until moments before last night's episode aired. I always thought it was Stacey Slater but didn't 100% know the victim but Keanu Taylor was the person who I'd always said, but recently thought it could have been Nish or Phil Mitchell due to his involvement in the Sharon storyline with Albie crossed my mind. However, once the Christmas episode started I was hooked especially as the Queen Vic featured in the first scene, then the SIX being

END OF YEAR INTERVIEW WITH TIGIRLILY GOLD

Image
To end the year, I caught up with Tigirlily Gold made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista who this year have had a brilliant year when coming to the UK for 2023 (where they will debuted but next year on The Spotlight Stage), playing The Grand Ole Opry, releasing their debut EP, Blonde along with their plans for 2024. Photo taken by me at C2C 2023 Hello Krista and Kendra, how are you? Hey Kellie! We are doing great! Thanks for checking in! 2023 has been a busy year for you both in March you came over to the UK for C2C, how did you find the whole experience? Performing in London for the first time was one of our absolute favorite memories of 2023 and will be ingrained in our brains forever. The way the fans showed up for us was unbelievable! They knew every word to our song "Shoot Tequila!" We were booked for the festival fairly last minute and barely made our shows due to a delayed flight, but it was well worth it because of the fans. I have to say your performances, I caught we

INTERVIEW WITH CHARLOTTE JORDAN AS SHE TALKS ABOUT DANIEL AND WHAT'S COMING UP FOR DAISY

Image
Following Coronation Street viewers seeing Daniel Osborne discover the truth that his fiancee, Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor had slept together, this Christmas is set to be an interesting one as Charlotte Jordan talks about Daisy's break up from Daniel, The Rovers, and her future on the show. When asked about how Daisy is feeling about breaking up with Daniel, Charlotte commented:  "She’s in a lot of pain. In Daisy fashion, she masks her true feelings with a face full of makeup and witty remarks but she is heartbroken. Fresh out of the break up with Daniel, I think she’s still hoping for a reconciliation. They’ve always had such a fiery relationship and now she’s left hoping and praying once he’s had a bit of time to take the initial sting away, she can convince him to make another go of it." With Bethany Platt returning, does Daisy see Bethany as a threat given her history with Daniel: "Oh god absolutely. She’s beautiful, she’s been told how successful Bethany is l

INTERVIEW WITH LUCY FALLON AS BETHANY RETURNS TO THE COBBLES

Image
Over this years festive episodes to Weatherfield, Coronation Street viewers will see the return of Bethany Platt played by the brilliant Lucy Fallon following the character's departure in 2020. Talking of Bethany's return and being back, Lucy Fallon said:  "It feels really good, it's really nice to come back in and be with the people that I was so used to be working with for over 5 years. I was really nervous to go back, but it feels like I have never been away which absolutely feels quite bizarre because a lot of things have changed." Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street Bethany is set to arrive back on the cobbles over the New Year when Daniel spots her and it's not long before she is reunited with the Platt family.  I can't wait to see Lucy Fallon back on our screens after 3 years as well as her reuniting with Tina O'Brien as I love Bethany and Sarah's bond. When asked about the biggest change in Bethany, Lucy added:  "I'd say she's

INTERVIEW WITH ALISON KING AS SHE TALKS ABOUT WORKING WITH CHRIS GASCOYNE

Image
For over a decade, Carla and Peter Barlow's love story has captured the hearts of many due to their rollercoaster of a relationship as well as them getting married for a second time in 2021. This festive period is set for change for Carla as Peter is set to leave the cobbles in a heartbreaking Boxing Day episode. When asked what it was like to film Chris Gascoyne's final scenes which was just the two of them as well as the exit storyline, Alison King said "We're filming solidly together for two days. There was a lot to learn. But aside from that it was amazing, but it was so emotional, I did not need any tearstick for those scenes. There was no way of knowing what would happen because every time we did it I literally filled up with emotion and started crying at different times in every scene. Just seeing a different look from Chris would set me off because he's so wonderful at Meisner technique which involves an actor reacting to another actor’s performance and beh

CORONATION STREET TEASES CHRISTMAS AS CHARLOTTE JORDAN, TINA O'BRIEN AND LUCY FALLON REVEAL THEIR FESTIVE PLANS

Image
Over the past few years, I have loved watching Coronation Street over the festive period more than normal, and this year's looks to be filled with proper soap drama as relationships are set to reach breaking points. With the festive period approaching Jenny Connor and Daisy Midgeley are determined to raise the money needed to buy The Rovers back. It's not a soap until you resort to desperate measures, but will they succeed?  You have to love Charlotte Jordan and Sally Ann Matthews scenes. You can't forget that currently Daisy is going through a rough patch following Daniel Osborne turning his back on her after affair with Ryan Connor, could this festive period see Daisy happy again? As 2023 is set to come to a close and the New Year dawns it seems that the drama is just beginning as viewers can expect fireworks when Bethany Platt explodes back onto the street for a surprise visit. Is there more to her sudden arrival than a family catch up?  I am so excited for Bethany's

SCOTTY McCREERY INVITED TO BECOME MEMBER OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY

Multi-Platinum selling country artist, Scotty McCreery was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry last night (3rd December) by Opry member Garth Brooks. Scotty was surprised onstage during his spotlight artist performance at last night's Opry Country Christmas show. "Merry Christmas"  Garth said walking onto the stage handing Scotty a wrapped gift.   "This is a Christmas present to the Grand Ole Opry" Garth later continued. "We would love to invite you to be the newest member of the Opry." "Holy cow. Yes, I would love to,"  Scotty replied. "I grew up listening to your records Garth and you’re a part of what made me want to do this for a living and I didn’t think that dream would become a reality, but it is because of all of y’all sitting in this house tonight. God bless y’all." Scotty continued   "When I got started doing this people asked, ‘what are your goals'  voice cracking with emotion, he shared  "

NEXT WEEK ON CORRIE: DANIEL REALISES THE TRUTH AS ROB MALLARD TALKS ABOUT WHAT'S TO COME

Image
During next week's visit to Weatherfield, Coronation Street viewers will see Daniel Osborne realise that his fiancee, Daisy Midgeley had slept with Ryan Connor. I can sense an emotional week coming. Talking about how Daniel feels when he sees the video, Rob Mallard said: "He was really shocked at first. Even though he was suspicious before, and he was actually on to the truth, he allowed doubt to get in and thought he was potentially just being paranoid. So, to have that turned on a dime and actually have the proof right there in front of him, the first thing he experienced was shock and then blind rage." Since Daisy has been around, Bertie has seen her as a mother figure, Rob talks about whether Daniel will patch things up with Daisy for this reason:  "Yes, I think so but then at the same time, that's only a short term solution. In the short term, losing Daisy would be like losing another mother figure for Bertie which would be sad, but in the long term with Dai

GIRLS ALOUD ANNOUNCE THE GIRLS ALOUD SHOW TOUR TO CELEBRATE 21 YEARS

Following last week's news of Girls Aloud's reunion in the month that marked 21 years since Kimberley, Cheryl, Nicola, Nadine and Sarah were formed on Popstars: The Rivals.  One show I absolutely loved watching and one of my favourite talent show discoveries. To celebrate this milestone with all of their fans, Girls Aloud have announced they will be coming together for a huge UK and Ireland arena tour in May and June, 2024.   It's going to be a sad one without Sarah, but I have no doubt that the band will do her proud. I am know I am not the only alouder who is extremely thrilled by this news and who's working out how to get hold of these tickets. The hugely anticipated shows will feature the band's historic pop hits including Number 1 songs, Sound Of The Underground, The Promise and I'll Stand By You, alongside classics such as Love Machine, Call The Shots, Biology, Something New and The Show.  All of their songs in my opinion are classics! Speaking of the reun

NEIGHBOURS FLASHBACK REVIEW

During this week's Flashback Episodes, viewers have been taken on a journey to the truth of 2 years ago. The attention to detail within this whole week of episodes has been amazing to watch especially as they looked back to the original series during the flashbacks - the way that they brought up Mel Pearson and Toadie Rebecchi's marriage, Holly Hoyland returning to Erinsborough, and how Krista Sinclair bought her sister, Reece into the current series - as well as bringing back Nicolette Stone, Aaron Brennan, David Tanaka, Elly Conway, Chloe Brennan, Bea Neilson, Amy Greenwood, Yashvi Rebecchi, Mal Kennedy, Callum Rebecchi and Imogen Willis. The week featured 4 special flashbacks episodes making for some excellent viewing as different characters told their parts. It was interesting to discover the real reason why Melanie ran away (she was the Sinclair's housekeeper) linking to Reece Sinclair searching for her sister which was a twist I wasn't expecting - the more the sto

CHRISTMAS SINGLE REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - CHRISTMAS COMES IN WAVES

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter,  Alana Springsteen  last Friday (10th November) released her Christmas single, Christmas Comes in Waves. Christmas Comes in Waves was written by Alana alongside Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson. Photo Credit: Lily Nelson Christmas Comes in Waves begins with Alana's crisp tone which allow for the heartfelt lyrics to shine through right from the start. The one thing, I love and continued to enjoy was all the little moments of happiness that are bought with Christmas and spending time with our loved ones enjoying Christmas in our own little way. The chorus has many emotional moments that lead into the verses brilliantly with the chorus being extremely catchy. There is something special about the uniqueness of the song that allows for the listeners to have their own take on the songs lyrics/ journey - reminds me of a warm Christmas holiday.  The second verse talks about that cold Christmas holiday that some people choose to

SINGLE REVIEW - KAYLEE BELL - GOOD THINGS

Image
Following on from her CMA win on Wednesday evening (8th November), New Zealand born singer-songwriter,  Kaylee Bell  is releasing her brand new single, Good Things today (Friday 10th November). Photo taken by Me at C2C 2019 Good Things begins with a upbeat pop country feel the perfect blend. The verses see Kaylee's crisp tone with the song having this perfect road trip kind of vibe with lyrics that make you want to sing along to despite not knowing the lyrics 100% (or is that just me?) Good Things is a song about never giving up on your dreams and how moving away from your loved ones can be so hard especially if it's long distance making for some emotive moments. The lyrics speak volumes due to the inspiring songwriting from Kaylee. However, for me the chorus is filled with such honesty and emotion that I caught myself getting rather emotional over the songs lyrics when it talks about never giving up on our dreams as for me and many people these kind of lyrics within songs help

AN INTERVIEW WITH HARPER GRACE FOLLOWING HER TIME IN THE UK

Image
Following on from her successful performance as part of the Song Suffragette's line up at Bush Hall on Saturday 21st October, I caught up with the brilliant  Harper Grace . Harper Grace is a new artist to myself, and I really enjoyed getting to know her and talk about her latest single with her during her first trip to the UK. When asked about what's it's like being in the UK for the first time and performing here, she said   "I'm Excited." When asked about how the opportunity came about, she said:   "In Nashville, we have this place called the listening room and the audience there is very attentive and listening, but the Song Suffragettes has a round there and I was very excited to meet the team there. And then they expressed the opportunity to come to London with a yes!" When asked about her latest single,  Down in my Hometown:  "I've been telling people it's my establishing I love Nashville song, growing up in my hometown of Texas it

AN INTERVIEW WITH BROOKE EDEN FOLLOWING HER TIME IN THE UK

Image
Following on from her successful performance as part of the Song Suffragette's line up at Bush Hall on Saturday 21st October, I caught up with American singer-songwriter,  Brooke Eden . Talking of the Song Suffragette show, Brooke said:  "I'm excited to be back in London and sharing some new music. And honestly getting to be back into the UK, and have the experience of the British fans is exciting." When asked about returning to the UK after 7 years (last performed at C2C 2016), Brooke said:  "A lot has happened since that, and a lot of new music - I've recorded a lot of new music, I wish it wasn't 7 years but it won't be another 7 years!" You released her latest EP, Outlaw Love back in June can fans expect to hear any of those songs during your set?   "The project is about standing up for who you are, and what you believe in and who you love realising that, that can make you some kind of outlaw and kinda owning that!" The first time I

CHRISTMAS SINGLE REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - FALALALA FALLING

Image
Last Friday (27th October) saw  Tigirlily Gold  made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista release their brand new Christmas single, Falalala Falling. Photo Credit: Jared Olson Falalala Falling  starts with a electric instrumental which compliments Kendra's beautiful crisp tone. The verses are filled with many sentimental feels that honestly got me feeling a little emotional about all those little things that you only do at Christmas as well as the memories you make when family and friends gather as we all know how hard those things are becoming. The harmonies from both Kendra and Krista are great from you hear them. The chorus is filled with many gorgeous moments bringing in some the fantastic family/ home feel to the song that listeners will hopefully be able to relate with getting them in the mood for Christmas just like I am now (this is something I rarely say aha!) The instrumental/ bridge is fantastically timed as it allows for the song to have the perfect breather before this sen

SINGLE REVIEW - AMERICAN BLONDE - KISS ME THIS CHRISTMAS

Image
Last Friday (20th October) saw US sibling duo,  American Blonde  made up of Natalia and Tinka release their Christmas single, Kiss Me This Christmas. Kiss Me This Christmas was written by Natalia as well as Jimmy Nash and produced by Catt Gravitt. Photo Credit: Mackenzie Ryan Photography Kiss Me This Christmas   starts with a jolly joyful instrumental that kicks off the Christmas feels brilliantly. The first verses sees Natalia's soft vocal tone kick the song off fantastically with lyrics that are filled with such honesty and some that get you thinking as you can get them in different ways. The next two verses are brilliantly written and take you on a journey especially when Natalia shows her crisp tone. The chorus is filled with an important message with all your want is the people you love around you as they are all that matters this Christmas period. Having that special person to share Christmas with is so magical - enjoy your time together! The solo instrumental from Tinka on t

SINGLE REVIEW - SCOTTY McCREERY - FEEL LIKE THE HOLIDAYS

Today (Friday 20th October) will see American singer-songwriter,  Scotty McCreery  release his brand new Christmas single, Feel Like The Holidays. Feel Like The Holidays was written by Frank Rogers, Monty Criswell, Derek George, Bobby Hamrick and Jeremy Bussey and produced by Frank Rogers along with Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis. Feel Like The Holidays  starts with a crisp instrumental that has a magical vibe to it that makes me feel so Christmassy. All three of the verses see Scotty's crisp vocal at the forefront allowing for many magical moments that got me thinking about all our family traditions growing up. Feel Like The Holidays takes you on a journey right from your own experiences of being a child to making precious moments with your own children especially within the chorus which sees Scotty's vocal range shown brilliantly. The chorus has many moments that honestly melted my heart, you can hear how much Scotty has grown within his style of music which for me makes it eve

DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - MAKING IT UP AS I GO

Image
Today (Friday 13th October) will see US newcomer singer-songwriter,  Kylie Morgan  release her debut album, Making It Up As I Go. Making It Up As I Go is made up of 12 tracks which Kylie co-wrote on 10 with the other 2 being written solely by Kylie. Making It Up As I Go  sees Kylie's crisp vocal opening with a lot of honesty and vulnerability that I caught myself relating with a lot as someone who is turning 30 in a couple of weeks with the lyrics hitting a little differently. The chorus is filled with many lyrics that get you thinking and relating that once again everyone is on a different journey through life and that's OK as not everyone will feel the way you do about things. We have to do what makes us happy in those precious moments, we don't want to look back and have regrets because at the end of the day we only have one life and we should be living it whatever way makes us the happiest. The second verse is the part of the song that caught me getting rather emotional

ALBUM REVIEW - ELERI - THE CARNIVAL

Image
Today (Friday 13th October) will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter,  Eleri  releases her latest album, The Carnival. The Carnival is made up of 13 tracks.  Magic  opens Eleri debut album wonderfully with a live feel to this album right from the very beginning which is rather special and very Eleri.   The lyrics throughout Magic are beautiful and filled with such positivity, love, and appreciation for the lessons learnt. The second verse is upbeat featuring some rather special moments allowing for the Eleri, I know and love shine through right from the very start of her debut album. Eleri is one brilliant singer-songwriter with her wonderful cool tone complimenting this throughout. Heels To Hell  has a very sentimental feel featuring a different kind of style from Eleri that is based on a personal experience of hurt as well as a lesson learnt. The chorus is the part of the song that personally got me a little emotional as I felt myself relating to parts of the lyrics being sha

CORONATION STREET EPISODE REVIEW AS BILLY AND PAUL GOT MARRIED

Tonight's episode of Coronation Street (2nd October) saw Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman finally get married in the shows first gay wedding with their loved ones surrounding them. It's fair to say that both Billy and Paul have been on a journey to get to where they are today and have supported each other through many difficult, heartfelt moments especially with Paul's recent diagnosis. The episode was filled with a lot of emotion for both Billy and Paul as well as their families gathered with Gemma and Bernie Winter both bringing the comedy at various moments that bought many fond moments. However for me, one of my favourite moments came as Summer Spellman walked alongside Billy in the Bistro as these two have been through a lot over the past few years, but I became emotional as Paul chose to walk down the aisle with the help of his sister and mum - the smiles from both Paul and Billy were great to see. The honesty through the vows Billy and Paul made to one another made me c

SINGLE REVIEW - ALEXANDRA KAY - SHE STAYED

Image
Today (Friday 29th September) will see viral sensation, Alexandra Kay release her brand new single, She Stayed written about her very best friend. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C London March 2023 She Stayed  has soft instrumental which compliments Alexandra's soft vocals. The first verse sees Alexandra share the journey of the friendship with her best friend got me thinking of mine with my best friend and our friendship since reception with the support you have towards one another. The chorus is filled with such emotion and thankfulness for all those moments that she has been by your side when you have needed her whether they are good or bad - that's an extremely special friend and one you need to keep and appreciate which is then showed throughout verse two. The more the chorus continued the more emotional I become hearing it with the bridge been the part of the song that saw from stunning moments. The final verse sees the lyrics become very relatable and I am in no doubt when

SINGLE REVIEW - DANNY McMAHON - HONKY TONK GIRL

Image
Today (Friday 29th September) British singer-songwriter,  Danny McMahon  releases his brand new single called Honky Tonk Girl. Honky Tonk Girl is Danny's first release in just over a year. Honky Tonk Girl  begins with a soft instrumental that some picks up to the upbeat style that we know Danny to have within his music. Danny's crisp vocal opens Honky Tonk Girl beautifully whilst being filled with some brilliant tones throughout the song. The story within the lyrics are fantastic allowing for the brilliant songwriting to come through. The chorus is catchy linking to the songs verses brilliantly - there is something special about this song and his meaning. The more Honky Tonk Girl continued the more I wanted to get up and dance, however, the softer vocal ahead of the final chorus is beautifully timed allowing for the lyrics to have there moment to shine. I love this new style of music from Danny, whilst remaining true to the artist that Danny has already shown to us with his pas
