EMMERDALE 50 EPISODE REVIEW - VILLAGERS RALLY ROUND AS LIV AND VINNY ARE CAUGHT UP IN THE STORM
Following on from Sunday's (16th October) special one hour anniversary episode, Emmerdale continued their stunt in last night's episode (17th October). Tonight's episode saw more of the storm's danger shown.
Tonight's episode (18th October) was written by Sarah Bagshaw, and directed by Tim O'Mara.
The episode started in the barn with Lydia Dingle helping a petrified Amelia Spencer who's labour was continuing to quickly intensify wanting her dad and her boyfriend, Noah Dingle. The more Amelia was stressing the more determined Lydia was to get her the help she needed and quickly. Never expected Lydia to be the one to find Amelia - Karen Blick and Daisy Campbell are a great pairing that need more scenes in the future. The way the storm was continuing the more, I was worrying.
In the middle of the episode, Noah Dingle received a message from Lydia that saw him being told the news that Amelia was on her way into hospital seeing a state of shock, as all is wanted to do was to be there for his girlfriend at her time of need. The honesty from Charity to put Noah off didn't work, so Mack stepped in as Charity had had a drink.
Whilst, in the village, Vinny and Mandy Dingle were sheltering from the wind with siblings Liv and Aaron Dingle talk about dog names before they chat which sees Aaron open up and Vinny supporting his wife, Liv - it was nice to see a happy scene between them for once. Later, in the episode the 4 of them were seen playing card games taking a family selfie. The smiles in that moment were fantastic to see.
Over at Home Farm, Kim Tate continued to talk about what happened to Harriet Finch with Will, Dawn and Billy in such a state. You can see the hurt she is feeling, and how devastated Willi is. Will, I get that you are upset but stop taking it out on Kim isn't helping. Claire King and Dean Andrews together are great together, however, it was the Will and Dawn hug that had me teary.
All the special events during tonight's episodes are brilliantly timed, and realistic.
Following Liv agreeing to go and look after Eve, it was in the final scene of the evening that saw viewers saw Liv and Vinny battling the elements of the wind with objects flying at the caravan moving down the street towards Liv and Vinny who are trapped underneath. I'm terrified for Liv, I can't lie.
Also tonight, Jimmy King, Jai and Rishi Sharma, Bob, Heath and Cathy Hope along with others were walking through the forest to the wedding reception in the wild wind, later it was revealed that they had arrived learnt about Harriet's death. Back in the village, many of the residents were inside The Woolpack due to the bad weather. Love the proper village feel from the older generation. The moment the signal was back the text noises saw everyone shocked at some messages. Back on the farm, Belle Dingle and Nate Robinson found Sam Dingle in a worrying state as they worked together to help him, and get him the help he needed. Mary Goskirk arrived back home to Marlon Dingle on the floor, where they are both worried about Rhona. The panic on Marlon's face and him mentioning about Tricia Dingle's death. Charles Anderson and Nicola King shouting at one another after they become lost, leaving Jimmy worried as Nicola left rip at Charles before she has a panic attack.
This episode of Emmerdale aired tonight (Tuesday 18th October) on ITV at 7.30pm with Emmerdale continuing tomorrow (Wednesday 19th October) at 7.30pm.
