EMMERDALE 50 EPISODE REVIEW - VILLAGERS START TO REALISE WHAT'S HAPPENED AS VINNY STRUGGLES AND AMELIA GAVE BIRTH

Following on from last night's episode (19th October) that saw Liv Dingle sadly die in some devastating scenes, the villagers start to realise the devastating impact that the storm had across the villagers.
Tonight's episode (20th October) was written by Dawn Harrison, and directed by Tim O'Mara.

Tonight's hour long episode started with an ariel shot over the village of the devastating damage that the storm had caused. It made me a little emotional. The devastation of the realisation was heartbreaking to see especially during Eric Pollard and Diane Sugden's scene with Diane's words. However, it was an the camera panned down to Vinny Dingle standing looking over at where Liv died, an emotional moment.

The moment Gabby Thomas was told by Wendy Posner of her best friend, Liv's death, my heart sunk. As the cameras focused back on Vinny, you could see a lot of heartbreak which I have to say Bradley Johnston did brilliantly. Aaron opening up to Chas and Paddy about Liv - he isn't to blame. I am so glad Danny Miller agreed to come back for Isobel Steele's exit their bond is an incredible one!

It was fantastic to see Liv's friendships with Gabby and Jacob remembered and their memories but it was Gabby's words that bought a tear to my eye about time as we all think we have more, and sadly reality is that we never actually know when it's the last time.
Mandy wanting to help Vinny, and talk to him after she shared her concerns with Paddy later saw Paddy opening up to Vinny in the scrapyard those words got Vinny thinking as all Mandy wants to do is be there for Vinny. Aaron was stressing out in The Mill as he opened up to Cain Dingle. Cain protecting his family, I am here for.

The way that Vinny grabbed Liv's jacket, wow emotional especially as  he heard Liv's voice as he closed his eyes.

Back in the hospital, Amelia Spencer in full on labour it was Charity and Noah Dingle who were there for her. You can see how much Noah just wants to be there for her. With Dan Spencer and Kerry Wyatt waiting outside it was Kerry's words about Noah that you could see she admitted to making a mistake, but the way that she looked after Dan was sweet you can see so much love between the characters.
Charity supporting Amelia was great especially when think back to when she discovered she was pregnant back in July. Noah being so cringe, had me laughing. All she needed was a little reassurance and support which in the end come from Charity as well as Kerry - Kerry had me laughing.
The moment that Amelia heard her daughter cry was a sweet scene and one that was overcome with emotions.

However, the sweetest scene of the episode come from Charity and Noah following Noah learning about the birth of Amelia's daughter - you could see how proud he was and excited, but it was the 'I Love You' line from the mother and son. Emma Atkins and Jack Downham are a great pairing.

Back in the hospital, Noah and Dan spoke ahead of him meeting his granddaughter for the very first time. The heartfelt words from Amelia and Dan were very much needed, you see the emotion he was holding trying to protect Amelia from the truth on a happy day.

Also, The emotional strain within Zak Dingle was shown clearly as Cain and Moira checked in on him was hard as I see my Grandad in him. Zak stressing about his family as Belle realises Samson hasn't been home. Whilst in Home Farm, the accusations from Will came flooding out much to Kim Tate's hurt. Kim and Will arguing over Harriet was hard as Will come out with the harsh words as they both slammed their wedding rings down on the kitchen table.
Karen Blick smashes the emotional scenes.

This episode of Emmerdale aired on Thursday 20th October on ITV at 7.30pm with Emmerdale continuing tomorrow (Friday 21st October).
