GIRLS ALOUD ANNOUNCE THE GIRLS ALOUD SHOW TOUR TO CELEBRATE 21 YEARS

Following last week's news of Girls Aloud's reunion in the month that marked 21 years since Kimberley, Cheryl, Nicola, Nadine and Sarah were formed on Popstars: The Rivals.  One show I absolutely loved watching and one of my favourite talent show discoveries. To celebrate this milestone with all of their fans, Girls Aloud have announced they will be coming together for a huge UK and Ireland arena tour in May and June, 2024.   It's going to be a sad one without Sarah, but I have no doubt that the band will do her proud. I am know I am not the only alouder who is extremely thrilled by this news and who's working out how to get hold of these tickets. The hugely anticipated shows will feature the band's historic pop hits including Number 1 songs, Sound Of The Underground, The Promise and I'll Stand By You, alongside classics such as Love Machine, Call The Shots, Biology, Something New and The Show.  All of their songs in my opinion are classics! Speaking of the reun...

NEIGHBOURS FLASHBACK REVIEW

During this week's Flashback Episodes, viewers have been taken on a journey to the truth of 2 years ago. The attention to detail within this whole week of episodes has been amazing to watch especially as they looked back to the original series during the flashbacks - the way that they brought up Mel Pearson and Toadie Rebecchi's marriage, Holly Hoyland returning to Erinsborough, and how Krista Sinclair bought her sister, Reece into the current series - as well as bringing back Nicolette Stone, Aaron Brennan, David Tanaka, Elly Conway, Chloe Brennan, Bea Neilson, Amy Greenwood, Yashvi Rebecchi, Mal Kennedy, Callum Rebecchi and Imogen Willis. The week featured 4 special flashbacks episodes making for some excellent viewing as different characters told their parts. It was interesting to discover the real reason why Melanie ran away (she was the Sinclair's housekeeper) linking to Reece Sinclair searching for her sister which was a twist I wasn't expecting - the more the sto...

CHRISTMAS SINGLE REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - CHRISTMAS COMES IN WAVES

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter,  Alana Springsteen  last Friday (10th November) released her Christmas single, Christmas Comes in Waves. Christmas Comes in Waves was written by Alana alongside Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson. Photo Credit: Lily Nelson Christmas Comes in Waves begins with Alana's crisp tone which allow for the heartfelt lyrics to shine through right from the start. The one thing, I love and continued to enjoy was all the little moments of happiness that are bought with Christmas and spending time with our loved ones enjoying Christmas in our own little way. The chorus has many emotional moments that lead into the verses brilliantly with the chorus being extremely catchy. There is something special about the uniqueness of the song that allows for the listeners to have their own take on the songs lyrics/ journey - reminds me of a warm Christmas holiday.  The second verse talks about that cold Christmas holiday that some people...

SINGLE REVIEW - KAYLEE BELL - GOOD THINGS

Image
Following on from her CMA win on Wednesday evening (8th November), New Zealand born singer-songwriter,  Kaylee Bell  is releasing her brand new single, Good Things today (Friday 10th November). Photo taken by Me at C2C 2019 Good Things begins with a upbeat pop country feel the perfect blend. The verses see Kaylee's crisp tone with the song having this perfect road trip kind of vibe with lyrics that make you want to sing along to despite not knowing the lyrics 100% (or is that just me?) Good Things is a song about never giving up on your dreams and how moving away from your loved ones can be so hard especially if it's long distance making for some emotive moments. The lyrics speak volumes due to the inspiring songwriting from Kaylee. However, for me the chorus is filled with such honesty and emotion that I caught myself getting rather emotional over the songs lyrics when it talks about never giving up on our dreams as for me and many people these kind of lyrics within...

Following on from her successful performance as part of the Song Suffragette's line up at Bush Hall on Saturday 21st October, I caught up with the brilliant  Harper Grace . Harper Grace is a new artist to myself, and I really enjoyed getting to know her and talk about her latest single with her during her first trip to the UK. When asked about what's it's like being in the UK for the first time and performing here, she said   "I'm Excited." When asked about how the opportunity came about, she said:   "In Nashville, we have this place called the listening room and the audience there is very attentive and listening, but the Song Suffragettes has a round there and I was very excited to meet the team there. And then they expressed the opportunity to come to London with a yes!" When asked about her latest single,  Down in my Hometown:  "I've been telling people it's my establishing I love Nashville song, growing up in my hometown of Texas it ...

Following on from her successful performance as part of the Song Suffragette's line up at Bush Hall on Saturday 21st October, I caught up with American singer-songwriter,  Brooke Eden . Talking of the Song Suffragette show, Brooke said:  "I'm excited to be back in London and sharing some new music. And honestly getting to be back into the UK, and have the experience of the British fans is exciting." You released her latest EP, Outlaw Love back in June can fans expect to hear any of those songs during your set?   "The project is about standing up for who you are, and what you believe in and who you love realising that, that can make you some kind of outlaw and kinda owning that!" The first time I ...

CHRISTMAS SINGLE REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - FALALALA FALLING

Image
Last Friday (27th October) saw  Tigirlily Gold  made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista release their brand new Christmas single, Falalala Falling. Photo Credit: Jared Olson Falalala Falling  starts with a electric instrumental which compliments Kendra's beautiful crisp tone. The verses are filled with many sentimental feels that honestly got me feeling a little emotional about all those little things that you only do at Christmas as well as the memories you make when family and friends gather as we all know how hard those things are becoming. The harmonies from both Kendra and Krista are great from you hear them. The chorus is filled with many gorgeous moments bringing in some the fantastic family/ home feel to the song that listeners will hopefully be able to relate with getting them in the mood for Christmas just like I am now (this is something I rarely say aha!) The instrumental/ bridge is fantastically timed as it allows for the song to have the perfect breather ...

SINGLE REVIEW - AMERICAN BLONDE - KISS ME THIS CHRISTMAS

Image
Last Friday (20th October) saw US sibling duo,  American Blonde  made up of Natalia and Tinka release their Christmas single, Kiss Me This Christmas. Kiss Me This Christmas was written by Natalia as well as Jimmy Nash and produced by Catt Gravitt. Photo Credit: Mackenzie Ryan Photography Kiss Me This Christmas   starts with a jolly joyful instrumental that kicks off the Christmas feels brilliantly. The first verses sees Natalia's soft vocal tone kick the song off fantastically with lyrics that are filled with such honesty and some that get you thinking as you can get them in different ways. The next two verses are brilliantly written and take you on a journey especially when Natalia shows her crisp tone. The chorus is filled with an important message with all your want is the people you love around you as they are all that matters this Christmas period. Having that special person to share Christmas with is so magical - enjoy your time together! The solo instrumental ...

SINGLE REVIEW - SCOTTY McCREERY - FEEL LIKE THE HOLIDAYS

Today (Friday 20th October) will see American singer-songwriter,  Scotty McCreery  release his brand new Christmas single, Feel Like The Holidays. Feel Like The Holidays was written by Frank Rogers, Monty Criswell, Derek George, Bobby Hamrick and Jeremy Bussey and produced by Frank Rogers along with Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis. Feel Like The Holidays  starts with a crisp instrumental that has a magical vibe to it that makes me feel so Christmassy. All three of the verses see Scotty's crisp vocal at the forefront allowing for many magical moments that got me thinking about all our family traditions growing up. Feel Like The Holidays takes you on a journey right from your own experiences of being a child to making precious moments with your own children especially within the chorus which sees Scotty's vocal range shown brilliantly. The chorus has many moments that honestly melted my heart, you can hear how much Scotty has grown within his style of music which for me m...

DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - MAKING IT UP AS I GO

Image
Today (Friday 13th October) will see US newcomer singer-songwriter,  Kylie Morgan  release her debut album, Making It Up As I Go which is made up of 12 tracks which Kylie co-wrote on 10 with the other 2 being written solely by Kylie. Making It Up As I Go  sees Kylie's crisp vocal opening with a lot of honesty and vulnerability that I caught myself relating with a lot as someone who is turning 30 in a couple of weeks with the lyrics hitting a little differently. The chorus is filled with many lyrics that get you thinking and relating that once again everyone is on a different journey through life and that's OK as not everyone will feel the way you do about things. We have to do what makes us happy in those precious moments, we don't want to look back and have regrets because at the end of the day we only have one life and we should be living it whatever way makes us the happiest. The second verse is the part of the song that caught me getting rather emotional as it talks a...

ALBUM REVIEW - ELERI - THE CARNIVAL

Image
Today (Friday 13th October) will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter,  Eleri  releases her latest album, The Carnival. The Carnival is made up of 13 tracks.  Magic  opens Eleri debut album wonderfully with a live feel to this album right from the very beginning which is rather special and very Eleri.   The lyrics throughout Magic are beautiful and filled with such positivity, love, and appreciation for the lessons learnt. The second verse is upbeat featuring some rather special moments allowing for the Eleri, I know and love shine through right from the very start of her debut album. Eleri is one brilliant singer-songwriter with her wonderful cool tone complimenting this throughout. Heels To Hell  has a very sentimental feel featuring a different kind of style from Eleri that is based on a personal experience of hurt as well as a lesson learnt. The chorus is the part of the song that personally got me a little emotional as I felt myself re...

CORONATION STREET EPISODE REVIEW AS BILLY AND PAUL GOT MARRIED

Tonight's episode of Coronation Street (2nd October) saw Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman finally get married in the shows first gay wedding with their loved ones surrounding them. It's fair to say that both Billy and Paul have been on a journey to get to where they are today and have supported each other through many difficult, heartfelt moments especially with Paul's recent diagnosis. The episode was filled with a lot of emotion for both Billy and Paul as well as their families gathered with Gemma and Bernie Winter both bringing the comedy at various moments that bought many fond moments. However for me, one of my favourite moments came as Summer Spellman walked alongside Billy in the Bistro as these two have been through a lot over the past few years, but I became emotional as Paul chose to walk down the aisle with the help of his sister and mum - the smiles from both Paul and Billy were great to see. The honesty through the vows Billy and Paul made to one another made me c...

INTERVIEW WITH TWINNIE ABOUT HER NASHVILLE MOVE AND LATEST EP

Image
Since the last time, I spoke with Twinnie  when she had just performed at Country Music Week at Bush Hall as part of the Song Suffragettes line up, and this time we spoke about her Nashville move, new singles and plans for the rest of 2023. Hello Twinnie,  the last time we spoke you had just performed as part of the Song Suffragettes tour, how did you find that tour? That was an amazing experience. I'm all for women supporting women and I loved being on the road with such incredible talent. It was so much fun playing to sold out crowds across the UK. I also made friends for life. I have to ask you as someone who has followed your journey for many years as an actress, I was wondering if you have any projects coming up whether it's in front of the camera or behind? I don't have any plans right now to get back in front of the camera in an acting role as such but I am working on a film project which I'm really excited about. Obviously I love acting and I use my experience f...

INTERVIEW WITH LOUISE PARKER ABOUT HER MUSIC AND MORE

Image
To celebrate my birthday over the past 4 years, I have shared an interview on my birthday and with me turning 30, Louise Parker kindly gave up her time to talk her music with us as well as turning 30 in general. Hello Louise, how are you today? Hello Kellie, I’m good, thank you. Enjoying the last of the British summer! How’re you? Glad you are good, I am great thank you! I have to start by saying how has it been 8 months since we last spoke about your music with Table For One, how was that release for you? It's one song I have on a lot of the time. Thank you, I’m so glad it resonated with people the way I hoped it would. ‘Table for One’ was the last track of ‘The Imperfect Recovery’ digital EP to release. Although it was bitter sweet to be closing that chapter it was also a relief, I am not the same person who wrote those songs. Even though it felt important to tell that story it’s also nice to look back and reflect on how far I’ve come. Photo Credit:  Meglensphoto (instagram) Tab...

EMMERDALE REVIEW - CAIN AND CALEB FINALLY START TO BOND

Ever since it was revealed that Caleb Milligan was related to Cain Dingle, Cain has struggled with accepting Caleb into the Dingle family, however, during this week's episodes their relationship has finally started to take shape. During last week's episodes when Cain Dingle rushed to his brother, Caleb's side when he heard he was injured, but Cain kind of cared but didn't want to make it look like he did, but you could see deep down that he kind of wanted too. This week saw Caleb determined to help his brother, Cain and his nephew, Nate Robinson bury things that had happened between them before Caleb told them about his business proposal that saw Cain struggle with the idea.  Loving the proper Dingle scenes. It was during this week's episode especially in Tuesday 5th September that saw the tables turn and for the better during the Dingle's family meal which saw the caring side of Cain come through when it comes to his relationship with his brother.  The bond tha...

SINGLE REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - MAKING IT UP AS I GO

Image
US newcomer singer-songwriter,  Kylie Morgan  has released her brand new single, Making It Up As I Go today (Friday 1st September). Making It Up As I Go was written by Kylie, KK Johnson, and Jordan Minton. The first verse sees Kylie's crisp vocal opening Making It Up As I Go with a lot of honesty and vulnerability that I caught myself relating with a lot as someone who is turning 30 in a couple of weeks with the lyrics hitting a little differently. The chorus is filled with many lyrics that get you thinking and relating that once again everyone is on a different journey through life and that's OK as not everyone will feel the way you do about things. We have to do what makes us happy in those precious moments, we don't want to look back and have regrets because at the end of the day we only have one life and we should be living it it whatever way makes us the happiest. EP REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - TWENTY SOMETHING: GETTING IT RIGHT

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter,  Alana Springsteen  today (Friday 18th August) releases the final installment of Twenty Something album. Twenty Something: Getting It Right is made up of 6 brand new songs. Taylor Did  begins with a guitar instrumental that heads straight into the first verse which filled with many Taylor Swift song lyrics that's the moment I realised the meaning behind this song, and one I really started to appreciate. The chorus is an empowering one as it takes you on a journey through Taylor's country era alongside lyrics that get you thinking and listening closely. Taylor Swift fans will really appreciate this song, however, for me it was the moment we hear Alana bringing in her own journey with the second verse being the most beautiful. There is so much I want to say that I don't think will come close, so I'll just say thank you, Alana for writing such a beautiful song filled with such appreciation! As well as a massive t...

EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - DAN AND AMELIA SHARE A SPECIAL DAY

It's been a while since I've done a single episode review, however tonight's episode (16th August) was one that I really enjoyed as it was filled with happiness even through the sad moments. *I have to say I loved how Emmerdale remembered to past of Dan and Chas Dingle.* Emmerdale are really good at special episodes and tonight's was much needed in my opinion as the episode started with Dan determined to give Amelia, a special day before tomorrow,  and like any parent you want to create as many happy memories as possible. The Yorkshire landscape as Amelia reached the destination was wonderful to see. Love that Dan just wanted to do something special. The way that Dan presented Amelia with a scrapbook of all their memories was fantastic and filled with many special moments alongside a special piece of dialogue from them both as we learn a little about their journey as they remembered all the childhood memories they shared. Despite all the fun and laughing around, the emo...

TWO WEEK EMMERDALE REVIEW AS AMELIA AND DAN STRUGGLE

Image
Over the past few weeks it's Amelia Spencer who I've felt sorry for as no one deserves to have the social media ordeal she experienced  as someone who's been through something myself, it honestly knocks you! The vulnerability we've seen throughout is something that I have been able to relate with. The way that Noah Dingle supported his girlfriend with a marriage proposal (Thursday 27th July) which was a no, however, he'd the best intentions as he wanted to prove he's there for her no matter what as well as offering advice to Dan Spencer based on his own experience. I hated the fact that Amelia had to lie to Noah in last night's episode (9th August) even if it was to protect him. The characterisation of Amelia has been wonderful to see develop over the past few months, yes I know people will disagree, however for me Daisy Campbell has definitely shown what a great actress she is. However, tonight (10th August) saw things become all too real for Amelia as she ...
