*INTERVIEW* CHANDLER MARIE TALKS ABOUT HER LATEST SINGLE, EMBERS

This week's interview is with singer-songwriter, Chandler Marie who last month (Friday 14th August) released her latest single, Embers. 

Hey Chandler, how are you?

I'm doing great, thank you!

Before we go any further could I please ask you to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Chandler Marie and I am an independent artist chasing my music dream.

A few weeks ago, you release your latest single, Embers - can you please tell us a little about the song?

Embers is one of my songs that is just fun to listen to. I wrote this tune with Evan Daniels, Brian Ream, and Josh Owczarzak. There's no real meaning behind it, we just went into the writing session wanting to write a fun song. Although, it is very relatable. I'm sure a lot of people have been in that situation, when you know you shouldn't go back to someone but do it anyway.

How have you found the response to the song?

The response to “Embers” has been very positive. I call this my “spicy” song since it talks about “setting fire to the sheets.” But believe it or not, it’s actually one of my parents' favorite songs of mine. Overall, the feedback on it has been very encouraging, and people are enjoying the fun nature of the song.

I have to ask as a lover of music, was there a certain reason/ situation behind the writing of Embers?

Normally I have reasons for writing songs and stories behind them. Although for Embers, we just wanted to write a fun song, but one that is still relatable to people.

What made you feel like now was the perfect time to release Embers?

I consulted with my team and we felt that it would be a great end-of-summer song. So, releasing it right before fall just felt right.

Finally, I have to ask how long did it take to write, record, and release Embers?

We wrote this song in a few hours back in February of 2025, I took it to the studio in May of that year, and we released it in August of 2026. Sometimes you have songs that sit in the vault for a while. It's all about making sure that particular song has its moment, and this one took some time to get there, but it did!

Here are a few quick fire questions if that's ok?

What was the easiest and hardest part of The Country to write? The easiest part was the title. Evan spoke up and said he had this idea for a title, but nothing else. The hardest part was finding a melody and figuring out what we wanted to say to make it come across as a fun song. But with four creative brains in the room, we got it done.

Did you the chorus or the verses first? I want to say we wrote the chorus first, but it all happened so fast, I can't quite remember.

How would you describe Embers in one word? I would describe Embers as “spicy”.

As an artist how did you decide on a single's release? I consult with my team and get their opinions, and I also love to pray about it to ensure it feels like the right path. I fully trust my team's support and God's guidance for making these decisions.

Could I please ask you about your recent debut performance at The Bluebird Cafe? How was that experience for you? Was it a magical experience?

It was 100% a magical experience. I had a blast! It was great meeting new writers in the industry as part of the round, and it meant so much to me that the crowd was intently listening to my words as I was singing. It's such a special and unique experience to play in that type of setting. It was a sold-out show, so I am very happy with how it all turned out!

With us only having 3 months of 2026 left, what are your plans for the rest of the year?

We have a lot planned for the remainder of the year! I can't give away too much, but I can share that I have some new releases planned, so keep an eye on my socials for updates!
