TWO WEEK EMMERDALE REVIEW AS AMELIA AND DAN STRUGGLE

Over the past few weeks it's Amelia Spencer who I've felt sorry for as no one deserves to have the social media ordeal she experienced as someone who's been through something myself, it honestly knocks you! The vulnerability we've seen throughout is something that I have been able to relate with.
The way that Noah Dingle supported his girlfriend with a marriage proposal (Thursday 27th July) which was a no, however, he'd the best intentions as he wanted to prove he's there for her no matter what as well as offering advice to Dan Spencer based on his own experience. I hated the fact that Amelia had to lie to Noah in last night's episode (9th August) even if it was to protect him.

The characterisation of Amelia has been wonderful to see develop over the past few months, yes I know people will disagree, however for me Daisy Campbell has definitely shown what a great actress she is.

However, tonight (10th August) saw things become all too real for Amelia as she said goodbye to Noah who definitely knew all the right things to say as he could see through the wall she built for herself, but the final words they shared as a family unit that I admit made me emotional. The moment Dan and Amelia set off, it was clear that both had their doubts leading to Dan turning the car around returning to the village much to Amelia's shock, but it was when Amelia saw Dan on the sofa emotional the hug between them showed how much they need/ are scared for one another.

Dan is known for being a funny character, however, this storyline has allowed for Emmerdale viewers to see a different side of the character and one that Liam Fox has been fantastic throughout.

The friendship of Dan and Cain Dingle has been an interesting one to watch as Cain has definitely been the friend that Dan has needed as well as Mandy Dingle who has been there supporting both him and Amelia. It's been interesting to see different sides of Dan throughout these friendships.

The heart-to-heart's between Amelia and Dan have made for a few emotional moments as you can see how much these characters need one another and have each others back no matter what with the worries definitely showing. I definitely think Julie knows more than she is letting on.

In a previous interview, Daisy Campbell spoke about who her character's biggest supports are going to be saying “Mandy has been Amelia’s rock through what we’ve seen so far. They have such a bond since working in the salon together and I think Amelia looks up to Mandy as a motherly figure. She's also been a great support system for Dan. Noah supports Amelia all the time; he is her biggest rock always. He certainly gives her reassurance and helps her through thick and thin.”

Episodes in this blog aired between Monday 31st July - Thursday 10th August at 7.30pm on ITV1 & ITVX with an hour long episode on Thursday 3rd & 10th August.
