WHY HOLLYOAKS OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD HAS MADE AMAZING VIEWING
Hollyoaks have been amazing throughout the whole year in my opinion but over the past 2 weeks over the festive period, the drama has made for amazing viewing with the opportunity for so much of the younger cast being at the centre of the action.
With the show deciding to go down to 3 episodes a week to allow the soap not to go off air in the least disruptive way with the return of so much of our favourite episodes with Hollyoaks Favourite episodes on E4 in the gap which allowed them to film many episodes. Then in September, the show returned to 4 episodes a week which I was very excited about.
Now, back to why the past 2 weeks have made for amazing viewing - the fact they chose to air a very tough subject and allow the honest truth with the dangers was great for the show as it allowed many of the viewers to see the warning signs, and that absolutely everyone could be involved in.
I have loved the blend of drama to all the laughs in between with Tom Cunningham and Yasmine Malik's wedding determined to have their wedding whatever, and the fact that Cindy Cunningham and Misbah Malik allowed them this opportunity.
The drama within the current storyline with Juliet Nightingale at the forefront recently allowing the true extent of this dangerous situation with Jordan Price played by Connor Calland where sadly saw him leave the show as his character died in the deadly circumstances.
The fact that there was a twist within the storyline had a lot of people gripped from what I have seen on Social Media, and I can't wait to see the outcome of this storyline.
I love how loyal Juliet has been with Sid Price which has been at the forefront since the flashback scenes. However, the moment when Peri Lomax and Juliet admitted their feelings for one another after Juliet was seen trying to protect her loved ones from the danger she was left in, I saw a lot of viewers were very happy despite us already knowing this thanks to the Flashback Episodes at the end of last year. Sid's reaction to his cousin, Jordan Price's death will be something that will make heart-breaking viewing which I have a feeling will lead to a new vulnerability of the character with the support of the Lomax family.
It really has been amazing to see the likes of Erin Palmer (Ella), and Charlie Behan (Charlie) take centre stage within the last few episodes because they are really talented actors that I think will grow a lot within what's to come next.
Hollyoaks has always been wonderful at the attention to detail within their storylines, and this storyline was no different.
Every single actor involved over the festive period in these storylines have been wonderful - Niamh Blackshaw, Billy Price, Connor Calland, Ruby O'Donnell, Kirsty Porter, Charlie, Erin, Sarah-Jayne Dunn, Ashley Taylor-Dawson, and Jessica Fox that I have a feeling big awards will be coming your way, too.
I have nothing but admiration for the whole Hollyoaks Team for continuing all their hard work along with all of the actors involved in the show.
