THANK YOU 2020 FOR THE COUNTRY MUSIC PART 2 - THE SONGS

2020 has been one hell of a year for many of us, but one thing I have loved about it is discovering a lot of new music whether it be from UK Country Artists or US Artists - one thing I wanted to do was share some of my favourite songs of the past 12 months with you.

Emma & Jolie's I Don't Need A Man with these two being a brand new duo to me along with a lot of other UK country music fans at the start of the year, but there was something so special about Emma and Jolie's vocals from the very first moment I heard them on their debut single, I Don't Need A Man having had me gripped from the very first line of the song, and still to this day every time I hear this song I am amazed! Seeing how much Emma and Jolie have shown as artists this year as been incredible, and knowing that 2021 (fingers crossed) has more music from them I am very excited.
Also, in November Emma and Jolie released their second single, Cry For You which in my opinion is beyond incredible and the lyrical ability of these two talented young ladies is something that I adore, and I can't wait to see them live.

Caylee Hammack's Forged In The Fire is one song that to me holds a very sentimental feel too thanks to the lyrics being about that one moment you lose everything and have to reset your lives. If it wasn't for this song 2020 would have been a lot harder than it has actually been as this song as helped me on my hardest of days, and loneliest of hours. If It Wasn't For You being released this year as helped me through this tough year of the lockdown period as there is song for every single emotion!

Danielle Bradbery's Girls In My Hometown was one of those special songs from the first time I heard the single took me thinking about my high school friends and where they are now, and how we all probably know someone who Danielle is singing about especially with 2020 being a year to thing about our lives, and about many of our friends which are probably from our hometowns.
Girls In My Hometown is one song I like to play at full volume.

Laura Evans' Take Me Back (Aberdare) is one song that had me gripped from the very moment the instrumental kicked in giving off this warm, and homely feel blended with the lyrics give off an amazing feel that you couldn't help but sing along with. The homely feel from the song got me thinking about my hometown and the memories that place leaves on your heart and whenever you can back you can't help but smile.

Kalie Shorr's Candy was a new song discovery back at the start of the year despite discovering her/ being a fan of her since last year. Candy has been one of those feel good singles that has helped me through the tough year. There is something that is so special and magical about this single that Kalie should be so proud of!

Temecula Road's Take Back is one song that since having heard it live last year during Country Music Week at their daytime Hub session, I have been loving this song and listening to the song as much as could because the lyrics, and their vocals are just amazing which was demonstrated fantastically during their live streams in March, April, and May. This song really has helped me so much when I have been feeling really low, and needed my mood changed - so thank you, Maddie, Emma and Dawson.

Halle Kearns' Pick Me Up is one artist I was lucky enough to feature on my BringCountry2UK page before she released her debut single, and what an honour that was! Pick Me Up was a fantastic debut single from Halle as it shows exactly who Halle is as an artist, and her second single, Shoes To Fill shows another side of who Halle is with her sentimental lyrics.
Whilst, I am talking about Halle - this talented young new artist released her debut EP over the past couple of weeks which is must listen and demonstrates who Halle is as at artist fabulously. Before He Could is another one of my favourites.

Mickey Guyton's Black Like Me is one beautifully written heartfelt song that I am glad was played on the radio a lot during black history month in October and the amount of people that have listened to the song is amazing. Mickey Guyton is a brilliant artist using her story to help educate others.

Morgan Wallen's More Than My Hometown is one rather special song to me from the very first moment I heard the song as it reminds me of everything I like about my hometown, and it's special place it will always hold in my heart even though I like leaving it for a little while.

Kelsey Bovey's I Found Me is a song that I only discovered last month as Kelsey released it which was co-written with fellow British singer-songwriter, Danny McMahon which I have to say make a fantastic team. I Found Me reminded me of the reason why all those songs ago, I feel in love with Country Music thanks to the melody, instrumental, the lyrics, the journey, and how everything blended together is just wonderful making for beautiful listening.

Tenille Townes' Holding Out For The One is another song from the very first moment I heard the single as I was reviewing - I knew it was rather special because songs like this are rare alongside all of the emotions that Tenille sings within.

Megan Rose's Something New is a brand new artist to me this year but one, I am very glad to have discovered and Something New is a fantastic song that has made a lot of people smile. The lyrics are just amazing and super catchy. I can't wait to see this song live post Covid.

Towards the end of the year, Miranda Lambert released her latest single, Settling Down and it was one song I couldn't stop playing when it was released because the lyrics resonated with me so much especially with where I am in my life. The lyrics are beautiful, and I know it's helped a lot of listeners too.
Over the past few weeks, British singer-songwriter, Jake Morrell released his brand new single, Leave The Radio On which has a beautiful feel and the lyrics are wonderful a song I play a little louder - can't wait to see this song live hopefully in March.

Please let me know if your favourite was commented, if not what is it?
