INTERVIEW WITH TWINNIE ABOUT HER NASHVILLE MOVE AND LATEST EP

Image
Since the last time, I spoke with Twinnie  when she had just performed at Country Music Week at Bush Hall as part of the Song Suffragettes line up, and this time we spoke about her Nashville move, new singles and plans for the rest of 2023. Hello Twinnie,  the last time we spoke you had just performed as part of the Song Suffragettes tour, how did you find that tour? That was an amazing experience. I'm all for women supporting women and I loved being on the road with such incredible talent. It was so much fun playing to sold out crowds across the UK. I also made friends for life. I have to ask you as someone who has followed your journey for many years as an actress, I was wondering if you have any projects coming up whether it's in front of the camera or behind? I don't have any plans right now to get back in front of the camera in an acting role as such but I am working on a film project which I'm really excited about. Obviously I love acting and I use my experience f...

INTERVIEW WITH LOUISE PARKER ABOUT HER MUSIC AND MORE

Image
To celebrate my birthday over the past 4 years, I have shared an interview on my birthday and with me turning 30, Louise Parker kindly gave up her time to talk her music with us as well as turning 30 in general. Hello Louise, how are you today? Hello Kellie, I’m good, thank you. Enjoying the last of the British summer! How’re you? Glad you are good, I am great thank you! I have to start by saying how has it been 8 months since we last spoke about your music with Table For One, how was that release for you? It's one song I have on a lot of the time. Thank you, I’m so glad it resonated with people the way I hoped it would. ‘Table for One’ was the last track of ‘The Imperfect Recovery’ digital EP to release. Although it was bitter sweet to be closing that chapter it was also a relief, I am not the same person who wrote those songs. Even though it felt important to tell that story it’s also nice to look back and reflect on how far I’ve come. Photo Credit:  Meglensphoto (instagram) Tab...

EMMERDALE REVIEW - CAIN AND CALEB FINALLY START TO BOND

Ever since it was revealed that Caleb Milligan was related to Cain Dingle, Cain has struggled with accepting Caleb into the Dingle family, however, during this week's episodes their relationship has finally started to take shape. During last week's episodes when Cain Dingle rushed to his brother, Caleb's side when he heard he was injured, but Cain kind of cared but didn't want to make it look like he did, but you could see deep down that he kind of wanted too. This week saw Caleb determined to help his brother, Cain and his nephew, Nate Robinson bury things that had happened between them before Caleb told them about his business proposal that saw Cain struggle with the idea.  Loving the proper Dingle scenes. It was during this week's episode especially in Tuesday 5th September that saw the tables turn and for the better during the Dingle's family meal which saw the caring side of Cain come through when it comes to his relationship with his brother.  The bond tha...

SINGLE REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - MAKING IT UP AS I GO

Image
US newcomer singer-songwriter,  Kylie Morgan  has released her brand new single, Making It Up As I Go today (Friday 1st September). Making It Up As I Go was written by Kylie, KK Johnson, and Jordan Minton. The first verse sees Kylie's crisp vocal opening Making It Up As I Go with a lot of honesty and vulnerability that I caught myself relating with a lot as someone who is turning 30 in a couple of weeks with the lyrics hitting a little differently. The chorus is filled with many lyrics that get you thinking and relating that once again everyone is on a different journey through life and that's OK as not everyone will feel the way you do about things. We have to do what makes us happy in those precious moments, we don't want to look back and have regrets because at the end of the day we only have one life and we should be living it it whatever way makes us the happiest. The second verse is the part of the song that caught me getting rather emotional as it talks about turning...

EP REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - TWENTY SOMETHING: GETTING IT RIGHT

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter,  Alana Springsteen  today (Friday 18th August) releases the final installment of Twenty Something album. Twenty Something: Getting It Right is made up of 6 brand new songs. Taylor Did  begins with a guitar instrumental that heads straight into the first verse which filled with many Taylor Swift song lyrics that's the moment I realised the meaning behind this song, and one I really started to appreciate. The chorus is an empowering one as it takes you on a journey through Taylor's country era alongside lyrics that get you thinking and listening closely. Taylor Swift fans will really appreciate this song, however, for me it was the moment we hear Alana bringing in her own journey with the second verse being the most beautiful. There is so much I want to say that I don't think will come close, so I'll just say thank you, Alana for writing such a beautiful song filled with such appreciation! As well as a massive t...

EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - DAN AND AMELIA SHARE A SPECIAL DAY

It's been a while since I've done a single episode review, however tonight's episode (16th August) was one that I really enjoyed as it was filled with happiness even through the sad moments. *I have to say I loved how Emmerdale remembered to past of Dan and Chas Dingle.* Emmerdale are really good at special episodes and tonight's was much needed in my opinion as the episode started with Dan determined to give Amelia, a special day before tomorrow,  and like any parent you want to create as many happy memories as possible. The Yorkshire landscape as Amelia reached the destination was wonderful to see. Love that Dan just wanted to do something special. The way that Dan presented Amelia with a scrapbook of all their memories was fantastic and filled with many special moments alongside a special piece of dialogue from them both as we learn a little about their journey as they remembered all the childhood memories they shared. Despite all the fun and laughing around, the emo...

TWO WEEK EMMERDALE REVIEW AS AMELIA AND DAN STRUGGLE

Image
Over the past few weeks it's Amelia Spencer who I've felt sorry for as no one deserves to have the social media ordeal she experienced  as someone who's been through something myself, it honestly knocks you! The vulnerability we've seen throughout is something that I have been able to relate with. The way that Noah Dingle supported his girlfriend with a marriage proposal (Thursday 27th July) which was a no, however, he'd the best intentions as he wanted to prove he's there for her no matter what as well as offering advice to Dan Spencer based on his own experience. I hated the fact that Amelia had to lie to Noah in last night's episode (9th August) even if it was to protect him. The characterisation of Amelia has been wonderful to see develop over the past few months, yes I know people will disagree, however for me Daisy Campbell has definitely shown what a great actress she is. However, tonight (10th August) saw things become all too real for Amelia as she ...

SINGLE REVIEW - ELERI - KARAOKE

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. The first verses sees Eleri's soft vocal at the forefront with lyrics that get you thinking of those moments at a gig that you don't think you'll ever get to see takes me back to experiencing Priscilla Block with Eleri last year, oh the memories. The second verse sees the song take another turn of when you feel like things aren't working out but you are determined to learn from the lesson it's given you. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics that I could myself singing along with despite not knowing the lyrics 100% typical Kellie. There is so much passion within the lyrics and the more you hear the lyrics the more appreciation I gain. Love the summer of '...

REVIEW OF ASHLEY COOKE'S 24 TRACK DEBUT ALBUM - SHOT IN THE DARK

Image
Rising Country Singer-Songwriter, Ashley Cooke who is signed to Big Loud Records/ Back Blocks Music is releasing her DEBUT ALBUM, shot in the dark out TODAY (Friday 21st July). shot in the dark is made up of 24 tracks. Tastes Like has a proper country feel reminding me of the exact reason, I feel in love with the genre in the first place. I like the energy from the upbeat lyrics which are also so much fun. The chorus continues with the fun times within the lyrics that I think many people will be able to relate with. The way that the chorus brings every single verse together is great and cleverly done throughout. When the second verse kicks in you get the moment that relationship ended remembering why as you go over every single little detail. The final verse is a little slower but the fun verse of the song. Tastes Like is the perfect karaoke song in my opinion. It's Been A Year  opens with a guitar instrumental that compliments the song throughout beautifully. The first v...

EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Image
Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said. There was many times during this week that I felt for Am...

EP REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - TWENTY SOMETHING: FIRGURING IT OUT

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter, Alana Springsteen today (Friday 14th July) releases her second installment of Twenty Something: Figuring It Out. Twenty Something: Figuring It Out is made up of 6 songs. Twenty Something  has a soft guitar instrumental that compliments the song fantastically. The first verse sees Alana's soft crisp vocal tone that allows for the songs sentimental lyrics to shine through. The story within the lyrics is beautiful and reminded me of my adult years and the mistakes, I took and still am making as I hit 30 later this year, but thanks to songs like this it makes you realise that life is a journey and mistakes are all apart of that especially within the songs key lyrics. The lyrics are brilliantly selected and show a growth as we get older, beginning to realise that mistakes are ok to be made. The second verse is about the regrets that you made, but in all honesty they are the biggest lessons learnt making me rather em...

EP REVIEW - TRACK 45 - GREW UP ON

Image
This Friday (14th July) will see Mississippi-born, but Nashville based sibling trio,  Track 45  release their brand new EP, Grew Up On. Grew Up On is made up of 6 tracks. Drinkin' and Thinkin'  has an upbeat instrumental to kick start this EP off wonderfully. The female vocal opening the song is great as it gives the song this different kind of feel that I personally love with the lyrics being fantastic as well. With the chorus having a rather sad twist to it about a break up, it would appear to me, however, it was one that got me loving the sassy energy. The second verse sees their happiness start to appear once again before a little more heartache. I love how the chorus manages to always bring the song full circle especially as the final verse sees Ben, Jenna, and KK's vocals blend wonderfully together. Grew Up On  begins with a nostalgic feel with the softer old school kind of feel with a lot of vulnerability within the first verse is stunning with some emotional ...

SINGLE REVIEW - ELERI - LIVE WIRE

Tomorrow (Wednesday 12th July)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter,  Eleri  release her latest single, Live Wire. Live Wire has old style love story kind of feel which I really like as it's very different from Eleri's normal kind of release - as a proper festival vibe with the instrumental. There is something so captivating about the songs lyrics and melody that keeps you hooked throughout. I love Eleri's attention to detail within her vocal tone especially with the softer crisp moments showing what a great songwriter she is! There is also something that shout out about being a great road trip song. As Live Wire continues the difference in the artistry from Eleri after the past few releases, the old school feel is fantastic and I am so proud of Eleri for this change. The storytelling of a love story and the hard times you go do to make the relationship work. You can follow Eleri on her Social Media Twitter Instagram Facebook

WHY AMY WALSH RETURNING TO EMMERDALE WAS BRILLIANT TIMING

This week's episodes have seen Amy Walsh return to the role as Tracy Metcalfe following the actress' maternity leave. At the start of the week, viewers saw Tracy Metcalfe return to the Emmerdale Village, but in typical soap style it wasn't straight forward as she was spotted at the registry office unaware to Cain and Moira Dingle that Tracy was actually there for her own wedding to Cain's son, Nate Robinson.  If anyone knows me you will know how much I have wanted these two characters back together, and said how much I'd love Tracy's return to feature her wedding to Nate. Tracy's wedding dress was beautiful and it is fantastic to see Amy Walsh back where she belongs! In obvious soap style it doesn't go to plan as back in the village, Tracy and Nate were back in the playground speaking with Cain and Moira when Cain got an idea of how to make it up to them for ruining their plans with Charles Anderson agreeing to bless their marriage.  It's nice to see...

WHY CINDY BEALE'S RETURN TO EASTENDERS IS BRILLIANT

I won't pretend that I was entirely pleased when I heard about Cindy Beale's return to the show, but since the episodes have aired I have to say I absolutely loved it. There was something so fantastic about Michelle Collins coming back to EastEnders even if I do still have lots of questions about her return and her past, but knowing EastEnders the writers will tell us when they want us to know (which I hope is soon!) Even though I had guessed Cindy was going to be Anna and Gina Knight's mum the moment I remembered that Cindy had a sister called Gina - it was fantastic to see it revealed in Wednesday's episode (21st June). However, it was Thursday's episode (22nd June) that saw the viewer in me very happy with the return of Lauren Branning played by the brilliant Jacqueline Jossa as well as the original Peter Beale in Thomas Law being a fantastic move as there was something about the first Peter's vulnerability that was brilliant and it was interesting to see how...

EP REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - BLONDE

Image
Today (Friday 23rd June) will see  Tigirlily Gold  made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista release their brand EP called Blonde. Blonde is made up of 4 tracks, and being released via Monument Records. You can read my interview with Kendra and Krista  here . Blonde  starts with a guitar instrumental from Krista which sets the tone for the song perfectly with Kendra's soft vocal tones coming in on the first verse. The first verse sees Kendra's sassy side come through that I have to say is brilliant with lyrics that are wonderfully written. Ahead of the chorus both sisters Kendra and Krista on lead vocals showcasing their fantastic harmonies and there wonderful bond with the lyrics. The storytelling within the lyrics are brilliant especially as the catchy lyrics of the song comes in thanks to the party vibes that the song comes in with - I can definitely see why people at C2C 2 weeks ago were loving this song was such an atmosphere. The second verse continues fantast...

INTERVIEW WITH CHARLOTTE JORDAN ABOUT HER CHARACTER'S RECENT STRUGGLES

Image
After everything that Daisy Midgeley has been through over the past few months, it's no wonder Daisy is confused and struggling after the events what her ordeal. Here Daisy actress, Charlotte Jordan speaks bout what her character has been through and what fans can expect. After the court scenes, Daisy went to comfort Ryan, and ended up kissing, leaving Daisy in turmoil. Does she regret her kiss with Ryan?   "She does and she doesn’t. She does regret it because obviously she does love Daniel; she’s committed to him and she sees a future with him because they are still planning on getting married. But she is just really overwhelmed by these feelings that she has caught really quickly for Ryan so she’s just confused at the moment." SINGLE REVIEW - GABBY BARRETT - GLORY DAYS

Image
Today (Friday 9th June) will see US singer-songwriter,  Gabby Barrett  release her brand new single, Glory Days. Glory Days was written by Gabby and co-written with Emily Weisband, Seth Mosley, and James McNair. Glory Days was produced by Gabby alongside Ross Copperman. Photo Credit: Robby Klein Glory Days  has an upbeat instrumental to begin that supports the song brilliantly throughout. The first verses sees Gabby's crisp vocal at the forefront with her soulful lyrics. The storytelling throughout Glory Days is beautiful and you can hear how much Gabby has developed as a singer in this verse especially as the nostalgic feel that took me back to my childhood allowing for a moment of reflection. The chorus features some of the most beautiful lyrics that blend into every single verse wonderfully as they allow you to relate them with our own lives - something that is very special to me. To me the verses also see Gabby allowing us listeners into her life for a moment with the...

EP REVIEW - BROOKE EDEN - OUTLAW LOVE

Image
Today (Friday 9th June) American singer-songwriter,  Brooke Eden  released her brand new EP called Outlaw Love. Outlaw Love is made up of 4 songs all co-written by Brooke, produced by Lindsay Rimes. Whispering  has an upbeat instrumental giving me the Brooke, I know and love. The storytelling on this track is stunning and the lyrics are perfectly suited. The chorus is beautiful with a great outlook which I have to admit made me emotional with some powerful moments. I really appreciate how brave Brooke has been throughout Whispering sharing her relationship with us as you can feel their love story within the lyrics. The softer chorus towards the end of the song is stunning before the uptempo one kicks in. Whispering is the perfect song to open this EP with. WOW, so many tears streamed during this song. Chills has a softer crisp summer feeling with the way that the song flows throughout is just fantastic as you can hear so many layers of Brooke's vocal tones throughout show...
