INTERVIEW WITH JESS AND THE BANDITS ABOUT THEIR C2C PERFORMANCE
Following C2C 2025 at London's O2, I had the opportunity to see Jess and The Bandits perform as part of the festival, and following this I recently had the chance to interview Jess about her experience of the festival.
Hello Jess, How are you?
I'm doing really well. Just settled back into the “real world” after such an incredible high from C2C!
You recently performed at C2C London, how were those performances for you?
OMG so good! I was a little nervous this year for some reason but the moment I hit those stages, I felt more like myself than I have in years.
The fact you kicked Saturday's Countryline Stage with that much energy was fantastic to witness.
Thank you so much! I honestly didn't know what to expect being the first on. The advantage to that if you're first on, you get a full soundcheck! So that helped to feel confident knowing the sound was great and we were warmed up. The audience was so ready for a good time and that made it even more fun.
You performed a mix of new and old music which was a very clever decision in my opinion, how did you decide on the set list?
Thanks, I've heard over the years when I've left out songs like Nitty Gritty and Single Tonight that people were hoping to hear them. So I know I needed to have those in! For the new songs, it felt simple to choose based on ones we've put out on social media. I wish I could have done the whole album haha I'll have to save that for a tour!

Your meet and greet line after the Countryline performance was wonderful to see as someone who has been a fan of yours for many years - how did you find it?
It was so great and made me feel so welcome. As someone who has had to step back a few times because of natural disasters (no I'm not calling my children that lol), pandemics, having kiddos and just life being life, it is so encouraging to see people still loving the music and so many new fans being introduced to JATB! Of course it was great to see you!
Did you have any standout moments from your sets?
I loved seeing people line dancing to Single Tonight during the Countryline set! On the Wayside stage looking out at people just completely engaged and singing every word was wonderful! Finally the Holler Afterparty was a blast, especially when I did a cover of Pink Pony Club. That was so fun!
I know you are a regular performer in the UK, but I have to ask how did you find the C2C audience?
The C2C audience is always one of the best. People have taken time out of their weekend to truly just enjoy music. They don't even have to know who a performer is, they are ready to soak it all in!
Did you get the opportunity to catch any other artists?
Only the ones before and after my sets. The talent from all over the world is just incredible!
I can't end the interview without asking you about your plans for the rest of 2025? Can we expect you back in the UK soon?
I will definitely be back soon. I have a few festivals and we are looking to announce something fun for the end of the year… fingers crossed!
Thank you so much for your time, Jess its always wonderful to chat with you.
Thank you for always being so supportive!
