DEBUT FULL LENGTH ALBUM REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - BLONDE

Today (Friday 26th July) will see Tigirlily Gold made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista will release their debut full length album called Blonde.
Blonde is made up of 10 tracks, and is being released via Monument Records.

You can read my interview with Kendra and Krista here.

Opening their debut album, Blonde begins with a guitar instrumental from Krista which sets the tone for the song perfectly with Kendra's soft vocal tones coming in on the first verse allowing for Kendra's sassy side come through that I have to say is brilliant with lyrics that are wonderfully written. Ahead of the chorus both sisters Kendra and Krista on lead vocals showcasing their fantastic harmonies and there wonderful bond with the lyrics. The storytelling within the lyrics are brilliant especially as the catchy lyrics of the song comes in thanks to the party vibes that the song comes in with - I can definitely see why people at C2C 2 weeks ago were loving this song was such an atmosphere. The second verse continues fantastically with the sassy country tones that is brilliant and links beautifully with the chorus every single time. The final verse is in a softer tone as the songs lyrics slow down a little as the chorus sees a crisp tone come through. Blonde ends with the chorus bringing the song to a wonderful close.

Leroy begins with a beautiful upbeat instrumental complimenting Kendra and Krista's vocal tones throughout Leroy allow for their stunning harmonies to shine through. Leroy sees Kendra asking a lot of questions about Leroy or who Leroy could be in such a sassy way - did you meet him in a bar? Is he a friend of your ex, or is he someone your friend is going out with? The chorus is a sassy one from Kendra and Krista with the lyrics about needing to call Leroy to help them escape, but it's obvious they don't listen to anything you say or are they talking about their previous relationship? The perfect song inspiration. The second verse continues with the break-up and how you didn't want to call them, but you know you probably will. I love how the bridge is slow and allows for the ladies gorgeous tones to shine. I enjoyed the final chorus as it took a different turn with them demanded not to call Leroy in more and move on with their lives.

The first verse of Hometown Song has some lyrics that instantly get you thinking and many times I caught myself relating with them about my hometown - knowing everything about it expect for that feeling that you can't quite put your finger on. The emotion I felt towards the end of the verse as the final few lines kicked in, I caught myself with tears in my eyes. The chorus is about the moment you finally get out, but you can't move on as it's your safe place and change can be rather hard for so many of us! However, the more I hear it during Hometown Song the more emotional, I become especially as I heard it for the second time, I broke down. The second verse continues about the stage of when you have just moved into a brand new place, and are struggling to find your feet after leaving somewhere where you have got to know really well, but when you also know that you need to leave to grow is even harder. The instrumental solo towards the end was wonderfully timed, and Krista on solo lead for a few of the bridge was fantastic to hear. Krista and Kendra's vocal harmonies are fantastically showcased throughout beautifully. The final chorus hits very differently for sure.

Kendra's soft vocal opens Move On with a lot of patience. The lyrics are beautifully thought about and the uptempo showcases the great harmonies from the sisters. The chorus is wonderful and makes me want to get up and dance, whilst also making you want to think about moving on from that one person and being strong enough too. The second verse continues with some female empowerment which is a fantastic blend, however, there is something about Kendra and Krista's vocals that are so special which make all of their music brilliant, is there anything these sisters can sing about?

Talking about meeting that one person, End Up Us is a fantastic song as you hear lyrics about wanting to marry your special person after realising they are everything you ever wanted. The chorus is super catchy and has a lot of appreciation for the one person that makes you feel like a princess/ prince. The second verse is filled with these moments you have been through that make you stronger together. However, the softer tone from the girls in the bridge is a wonderful move before the final chorus ends End Up Us. The harmonies from Kendra and Krista are great and with the instrumental are a brilliant mix.

Beginning with a soft guitar instrumental, I Tried A Ring On compliments the songs vulnerability. Kendra's crisp tone with the honesty of the lyrics makes for this wonderful meaning to come across. There is something wonderful about their songwriting and how you can hear that every part of the song based on their own relationships whether it's been a good one or not, many people have probably been there in their relationships as you think to the future with that special person. The chorus is rather catchy but filled with heartfelt lyrics mixed with a lot of emotion especially within the last line of the chorus whilst seeing the two sisters harmonies come together beautifully allowing for listeners to hear their brilliant tones. Krista's tone is beautiful. The more I Tried A Song On progresses the more emotions of what they have experienced shines through a little bit more which makes for some brilliant vulnerability to be shown as the final verse comes on all about that moment you have wanted in that dress on that special day.

Kendra's crisp vocal begin Stupid Prizes with some brilliant storytelling that is filled with lots of vulnerability from a bad relationship. The chorus showcases a different side of the toxicity that you can hear from the bad relationship in verse one as it sees you finally ready to give up on that one person - no matter how hard it can be as you quit playing their games. During the second verse sees the cheating come to ahead, whilst expecting everything to go back to normal. The harmonies in the chorus are stunning from both Kendra and Krista, but the standout moment for me comes as the final chorus kicks in with the softer tones.

With a guitar, drum instrumental Shoot Tequila begins with Kendra's sassy vocal at the forefront with Krista coming in for the harmonies beautifully adding another layer. I love how you get to know these two fantastic ladies through this brilliantly written song. The chorus has this party vibe with upbeat lyrics that make you instantly want to sing along with. The moment you know you shouldn't do something but at the same time you really want to do it - there is a hard choice to be made. The second verse continues with the party energy wonderfully with more of the story developing. It is the high energy from Kendra in the bridge that gives the song this other layer that is pure genius. I have nothing but praise for how Shoot Tequila ends with the chorus allowing for everyone to hear the sister's harmonies for a final time.

Only Once is a soulful song that sees the sisters sing about that first time meeting your partner with the proper love story feels. The chorus is beautiful as it captivates that feeling of making you feel special throughout many powerful moments. You can hear Kendra and Krista pulling in on their own personal experiences. I adore the softer vocal as the bridge comes in before repeating the chorus upbeat bringing another layer to the song allowing for a wonderful end.

Bleeding Love is a song that reminds me of my High School days, but Kendra and Krista's version is stunning as you can hear the sisters bring their own take to this classic. The way that they bring their own relationship experiences to Bleeding Love take the song to a full new level, whilst wearing their heart on their sleeves. The vulnerability throughout is brilliant thanks to the journey the sisters take you on. The mix of crisp and soft vocal is everything! Thank you ladies for releasing such a stunning cover.
