SINGLE REVIEW - CARRIE UNDERWOOD WITH DAN & SHAY - ONLY US

Today (Friday 3rd September) will see Carrie Underwood team up with fellow singer-songwriters, Dan & Shay release their cover of Only Us from the up and coming movie version of Dear Evan Hansen.

Only Us has a slow and soft piano instrumental which sets the tone of the song up wonderfully.
The first verse sees Carrie's soft vocal supporting the songs emotional lyrics. There is something so special and unique about the way that Carrie delivers the lyrics that gives me goosebumps at various times. You can hear how much the lyrics mean to Carrie and how she has delivered the song in a way that is special to her.
The chorus of Only Us features some of the most heartfelt lyrics, I know it's only a cover but the attention to detail from Carrie is spot on, and it shows within her delivery as she emotional connects with the lyrics. The listeners will definitely feel many different emotions as they listen but that is something that makes for a wonderful song in my opinion.
The second verse continues with Dan & Shay's vocal take the lead allowing for a different perspective on the songs lyrics to come across, but in a way that supports Carrie's beautifully making for even more emotional listening. The way that you can hear the relationship emotions at the forefront is beautiful - it gives the listeners thinking and allows for them to paint their own pictures to the lyrics.
The chorus becomes a little higher giving Carrie and Dan & Shay the opportunity to showcase their wonderful harmonies. Only Us is a duet between two of my favourite artists that I never knew I needed.
The bridge sees Carrie alongside Dan & Shay take it in turns to highlight Only Us' key lyrics which makes for beautiful listening, however, as the chorus comes in to end the song it ends in the most beautifully stunning way I caught myself getting emotional once again.

Don't you just love it when 2 of your favourite things come together - Country Music artists covering a musical you loves soundtrack! I do anyway.

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do.
