CORRIE EPISODE REVIEW - KELLY GIVES HER EVIDENCE

This week's Coronation Street episodes continue with the trial scenes ahead of the verdict at the end of the week. Tonight's episode saw Kelly Neelan give her evidence in the court, as did her mum, Laura.

In tonight's first episode, viewers saw Abi Franklin on the phone having told someone what she discovered in the final scene of Friday's episode as Kevin Webster praised her for it. Imran Habeeb then seen sat talking with Toyah Battersby about Kelly Neelan's trial today which saw him worrying. You have done so much for Kelly she's grateful for all you are doing!

In the court, Abi and Kevin arrive as Kelly and Toyah arrive in court room. Toyah's belief in Kelly is amazing to see.
As it's Kelly's turn on the stand comes, Imran asks Kelly about what happened on the night in question  which saw Kelly become emotional. Hearing Kelly's side you can hear a lot of honesty, and truth within her version of events compared with Corey Brent's which he gave in last Friday's episodes. Kelly showed her vulnerable side here which I have to admit shows what a brilliant actress Millie Gibson is! After the break, Sabeen had her chance to question Kelly about her version of events with her bringing up events of the past few months which saw her once again become emotional. Moments later, another judge asked Kelly about her the clothes she was wearing on the evening. Hearing the judges not believing a word Kelly is saying is hard to hear. I love how much Toyah believes in Imran.

However, outside the court room, Imran is standing with his head against a wall as Toyah walks in talking him that he did a great job with Kelly's evidence which was great to hear as a viewer because I enjoy watching this partnership. Georgia Taylor and Charlie De Melo work so well together.
As Laura, Kelly's mum took to the stand to give her evidence she was seen to be getting emotional as she looked over at Kelly a lot, I got myself getting a little emotional once again, and the belief she has in Kelly is wonderful to hear. Sabeen's turn to question, Laura was harsh which saw her getting called out on certain things she previously said on Kelly. Laura looked scared, Kelly Allen you were wonderful in these scenes.

The writing for this episode was from Ellen Taylor, and I have to say I loved this script.

In tonight's second episode, viewers saw Laura Neelan still on the witness which saw things go from bad to worse. Laura was only doing her best to save her daughter, however, it backfired.
However, in the waiting room Imran and Laura were seen to be having a heated conversation which saw Imran throw his papers on the floor. I felt for Imran.

In the court room, Abi was telling Kevin about what the police said about her evidence as Sabeen was seen to be addressing the court, quickly followed by Imran giving Kelly praise. They both fight for their clients. Love how strong Imran is! Hearing that Nina's evidence is being ripped apart is something that had me emotional that saw Abi shout in court. Sabeen is really getting to me, but goes to show what a great actress, Zora Bishop is. Seeing how much belief Imran has in Kelly - this is something I hope came across in court and the jury take into account.

I loved Kelly's emotional heart-to-heart with Imran, their relationship is a precious one. I am loving all the Millie and Charlie scenes.

Arriving back on the cobbles, Abi is seen talking to Kevin about the trial and their verdicts as Imran calls around telling them that he believes her following him overhearing Corey's dad, Stefan and Sabeen discussing his trial with them not realising that Imran was in the next room hearing every single word, leading to him telling Abi that will see what he can do.

Zora Bishop, I have to praise you for being such a wonderful actress you are and it's a pleasure to watch.
Once again, I have to praise Coronation Street for their hard work and dedication on getting this emotional storyline just right with the attention to detail in every single episode being spot on.

The writing for this episode was from Emily Gascoyne - thank you for an emotional script. Whilst, both episodes tonight were directed by Tim Royle the same as this coming Friday's (10th September) episodes.

This episode of Coronation Street aired on Monday 6th September on ITV.
