INTERVIEW WITH JEORGIA ROSE AS SHE RELEASES HER DELUXE VERSION OF BLOOMING (WHERE SHE'S PLANTED)

Image
Today (Friday 20th June) sees British singer-songwriter,  Jeorgia Rose  release her deluxe version of her 2024 album, Blooming called Blooming (Where She's Planted). The deluxe version of Blooming (Where She's planted) features an extra 3 tracks. Hello Jeorgia, it's wonderful to speak with you again this year. How are you feeling about Blooming (Where She's Planted) being released? Thank you so much! Honestly, I am feeling a mix of excitement and gratitude. “Blooming (Where She's Planted)” feels like the most authentic thing I have ever put out and I'm truly so proud of this project. Weirdly, I've grown a lot in the months since the original album dropped, and I think the deluxe edition in a way captures that. These 3 songs feel like the perfect final petals. You released the original Blooming album in September last year, would make you want to create a deluxe version? I kind of always knew “Blooming” was going to have a deluxe edition. I knew that I didn...

SINGLE REVIEW - LILY ROSE - END LIKE THIS

Image
Today (Friday 20th June), Rising Country artist,  Lily Rose  releases her brand new single, End Like This. Photo Credit: Rachel Deeb End Like This  showcases Lily Rose's beautiful songwriting showing everyone listening what a fantastic artist she is. The first verse is filled with many heartfelt moments that I connected with instantly - the honesty and openness of the lyrics was fantastic to hear as some artists shy away from those tough moments but these kind of songs for me are special. The chorus is filled with vulnerability and all those moments that you shared meaning that sometimes you are sad that things ended the way they did and that's ok as that shows grace. The second verse continue End Like This wonderfully allowing for the heartfelt moments to continue especially as the bridge is in a much softer tone that broke me. You sometimes have to remember that when things end and its filled with hurt sometimes its needed for growth as sometimes you can simply jus...

INTERVIEW WITH SYDNEY MARTIN AS SHE TALKS SWARLA AND PLAYING BETSY

Image
Since Sydney Martin joined Coronation Street last year, her character Betsy Swain has become a favourite with viewers to the Weatherfield based soap. During next week's visit to Weatherfield, the young character is set for big week as she discovers some things that her mum, DS Lisa Swain has been hiding from her, and Betsy goes to look for answers as Sydney Martin opens up about what's to come and what it's like playing Betsy. When asked about how Betsy feels as her mum, Lisa Swain and Carla Connor grow closer, is Betsy accepting Carla's in for the long haul, Sydney Martin added  “I think there's some resistance, they still have this bickering, but she has a lot of love for Carla now and they’re starting to have that step mum/step daughter relationship. She can see that her mum is happy and that makes her happy. It's taken her a long time but she's finally starting to feel like this is her new home. So although there is a bit of bickering there's a nice ...

WHY ISABELLE SMITH WINNING BEST NEWCOMER WAS GREAT

Image
Last Saturday (31st May) saw Isabelle Smith win Best Newcomer at this year's British Soap Awards and she out of the nominations was the one I wanted to win the most despite the final 4 being wonderful newcomers in their soaps. Isabelle was bought into Hollyoaks in January 2024 and her character Frankie Osborne arrived with her twin, JJ as the children of Darren Osborne and Suzanne Ashworth - what a brilliant casting that was with both Isabelle and Ryan Mulvey. Photo Credit: Ean Flanders/ Lime Pictures/ Hollyoaks Since her arrival, Frankie has been through a lot especially within the SSA storyline which also won Best Storyline and rightly so and you only have to look at how much awareness this storyline has raised to the shows audience, and making people sit up and think - that's just from the reaction I've seen on social media. Isabelle Smith has handled all her scenes with such grace and even the hardest ones you can see how much research she did to portray it realisticall...

*OPINION* JACQUELINE JOSSA SHOWED WHAT AN INCREDIBLE ACTRESS SHE IS AS SHE DELIVERED SOME EMOTIONAL SCENES

Tonight's visit (Wednesday 21st May) to Walford based, EastEnders was an emotional stand alone episode featuring just a handful of characters on a storyline where EastEnders are working with Royal National Institute of Blind People ( RNIB ). The week started with Lauren Branning noticing something was wrong with her newborn, Jimmy Beale but only Linda Carter appeared to be listening following their heart-to-heart about addiction in Monday's episode (19th May) which I really hope continues as their friendship is so refreshing to see. The way Lauren trusted her instincts shows both growth and confidence within the character - the strong yet frustrated and vulnerable sides have been portrayed this week. There was something about the weight that appeared to be lifted off Lauren's shoulders when she was finally listened to thanks to Linda noticing Jimmy's eyes allowing her to be listened to for the first time was brilliant to see as this is something most people don't wi...

NEXT WEEK ON EMMERDALE: SARAH RECEIVES SOME UPSETTING NEWS

Image
It's been no secret that over recent weeks that Sarah Sugden wants to have a child having recently opened up to Vanessa Woodfield about this and her reasons why, however, during next week's visits to the Yorkshire based soap the character is set for a devastating diagnosis. The week begins with Sarah Sugden heading alone to get her biopsy results, however at the hospital Sarah's fears are confirmed when the consultant reveals that she has the early stages of cervical cancer.  As Sarah struggles to take in all the information, she is relieved to find out that she may still be able to get pregnant. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale Later whilst seeing Sarah on his shift, Jacob Gallagher worried for Sarah as she tries to put on a brave face. However, when Jacob offers Sarah support, she can't help but crumble and confess that she has just been diagnosed with cancer where he tries to comfort her.  I am pleased to see that Sarah is opening up to someone. As Sarah asks about how t...

SINGLE REVIEW - SARAH WATSON - YOU DID IT

Image
Following its release last Friday (16th May), singer-songwriter, Sarah Watson  released her latest single, You Did It - one song I remember hearing back in January 2020 (my last gig before the covid era). Photo Taken By Me During her 2020 showcase You Did It  begins with a beautiful piano instrumental before Sarah's soft vocal tones come in allowing for the song to take us listeners on an emotional ride with the lyrics being ones that many will be able to relate with. The relationship ups and downs that are bought to life during this song, and all of its imperfections, however, its the second verse sees another set of vulnerability shine through with her crisp tones. The chorus is filled with the most meaning and honesty as you can hear even more emotion at the forefront which allows in turn for the listeners to really hear the vulnerability when it comes to hearing the reality of leaving a relationship where the other person has cheated, and left you all alone wondering what ...

THIS WEEK'S EASTENDERS SAW LAUREN STRUGGLE AS SHE WELCOMED HER NEWBORN CHILD AS VE DAY WAS CELEBRATED

During this week's visit to Albert Square, EastEnders viewers saw Lauren Branning face a tough week as her pregnancy came to an end, but not before Cindy Beale returned causing drama. Ahead of the engagement celebrations beginning in Monday's episode (5th May) with Kathy Cotton noticing a spelling error with their cake but honestly it was nice to see some laughter with Kathy sharing some wise words. However, it was Peter Beale's distraction that really frustrated me as viewers could see how anxious his fiancée, Lauren Branning was ahead of the midwife appointment with the vulnerable side of the character portrayed which once again Peter failed to notice. Later, with their engagement party in full swing, Ian Beale made an ill-judged comment that led to a wonderful scene between Kathy and Lauren showing how strong these characters are when it comes to supporting one another. After Cindy Beale's arrival the drama continued on Tuesday (6th May) where it was great to see Lau...

CORONATION STREET SET TO AIR EXPLOSIVE FLASHBACK EPISODE

Next Friday (16th May) Coronation Street viewers can expect an explosive flashback episode featuring PC Kit Green who I think we can all say has been an interesting addition to the cobbles  as the show is set to reveal secrets and events that have shaped Kit into the man he is today.   During the special flashback episode taking viewers back to 2007 where they will witness the teenage years of Kit, Mick Michaelis, and Lou Michaelis and uncover the truth behind their crossed past. These are the kind of episodes I love to watch as a Corrie fan. With secrets being revealed, and long-buried traumas resurfacing, shedding light on Kit's motivations and the reason behind his complicated relationships. Viewers have already seen glimpses of the tension between Kit and Mick with Gary Windass suspecting Kit of covering for Mick. With the reasons behind Kit's actions set to become clear as we witness the events that bind them together. The flashback episode will feature three actors takin...

CORONATION STREET'S DAISY MIDGELEY SET TO MAKE AN EMOTIONAL DEPARTURE NEXT MONTH

Image
With episodes next month set to feature Charlotte Jordan's final ones as Daisy Midgeley who first arrived on our screens back in November 2020, and is set to leave after 4 and a half years. In May, Daisy Midgeley is set to bid farewell to the Weatherfield cobbles in a dramatic and emotionally charged storyline and viewers can get a first-look from Coronation Street’s brand new trailer available to view here . Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street  After a recent whirlwind of drama involving a secret pregnancy, catfishing, and tangled romances, Daisy is ready to embark on a new chapter at the other side of the world, leaving a void in the heart of Weatherfield and devastation in her wake. Viewers of the Weatherfield soap can expect some highly emotional scenes as Jenny Connor desperately pleads with Daisy to reconsider her decision . As well as a heartfelt conversation with Daniel Osborne playing a crucial role in her final moments on the street leaving viewers hoping that Daniel...

SINGLE REVIEW OF ASHLEY COOKE'S LATEST SINGLE

Image
Yesterday (Friday 18th April),  Ashley Cooke  released her latest single, The F Word (which spoiler actually means forever) which I can't get out of my head so I thought why not review it. The song was written by Emily Weisband, Gordie Simpson, and Lori McKenna, and was produced by Dann Huff. Photo Credit: Alanna McArdie From the very beginning of this song, the lyrics of this power ballad are extremely relatable especially when you are meeting your new partners parents and you want to set a good impression but sometimes we can get anxious allowing for certain words slip out accidentally. The chorus is beautiful and beautifully crafted as one moment you think it's about swearing, but then you realise that the 'f word' is actually forever, making it an even more special song as you realise that the song is even more personal  to Ashley than you thought. The fact that Ashley isn't afraid to write from her heart, makes this singer-songwriter even more special and deser...

EASTENDERS EPISODE REVIEW - NATALIE CASSIDY'S FINAL EPISODE AS SONIA FOWLER

From the very moment tonight's episode (17th April) began, I knew it was going to be an emotional one especially with Dot Cotton's speech opening the episode as it panned across the square which was a wonderful move making me realise how much I miss June Brown - Dot was a fantastic character that I am glad I grew up with on-screen. This episode took us down memory lane especially with the Jamie Mitchell mention thanks to Kathy Cotton picking up his photo, the surprise visit to Rocky Cotton played by Brian Conley was brilliant as it was unexpected where he shared some wise words, not long before Sonia's trumpet made a comeback playing a poignant part at the end of the episode as well as her relationship with her sister, Bianca Jackson being highlighted as the pair who have been through some ups and downs recently but Bianca has always been there for Sonia despite everything. Sonia's final scenes saw her leave Albert Square with her daughters, Bex and Julia alongside her ...

NEXT WEEK ON CORONATION STREET: LAUREN COMES FACE TO FACE WITH A BLAST FROM HER PAST

Image
During next week's visit to Coronation Street, viewers to the Weatherfield based soap will see Lauren Bolton comes face to face with a familiar face from her past. The week begins with the doctors telling Lauren Bolton at the hospital that her son, Frankie is doing well and it won't be long until he can be discharged. It's not long until a nurse approaches with a parcel for Frankie where Lauren clocks a prison stamp which leaves her shaken. However, Lauren decides to visit her dad Reece Bolton in prison, but how will the visit go between the father and daughter?  I am really interested to see how these scenes will play out. Later, Lauren finds Betsy Swain destroying the contents of the florist van as she tries to stop Tracy Barlow approaching, Lauren sets off with Betsy in the van. Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street In the precinct, Lauren and Betsy look at the smashed up van. As a panicky Lauren admits that she never in fact passed her driving test as a police car pulls ...

EASTENDERS REVIEW: A ROLLERCOASTER OF A WEEK FOR LAUREN AND PETER AS BEX RETURNED

This week's episodes of EastEnders saw Peter Beale propose to his pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Branning who declined, however for me I personally think this is a great choice but the week continued to take the pair on an emotional rollercoaster. The fact that the week's episodes started with Peter Beale missing the baby scan, you could see Lauren Branning was in for an emotional week and honestly if any character needs support its Lauren! With Peter continuing to focus on his mum, Cindy Beale instead of Lauren really frustrated me. As much as I like Peter and Lauren as a couple in the show, I have to say Lauren choosing to turn down his proposal in Tuesday's episode (1st April) after everything that happened previously with Cindy Beale over Christmas with Lauren thinking that she was the one that injured her, and Peter doubting his girlfriend, where is the trust? One thing however, I did like was the attention to detail and remembering certain moments made the scenes interes...

SINGLE REVIEW - ROBYN RED - JUST NEED THE WINE

Image
Today (Friday 28th March), Scottish singer-songwriter,  Robyn Red  is set to release her latest single, Just Need The Wine. Just Need The Wine  has a fun and uplifting instrumental that sets the tone for the song wonderfully in my opinion. Robyn's soft fun vocals are brilliantly showcased throughout allowing for listeners to get a real sense of the Robyn's fun side as an artist. The storytelling within Just Need The Wine is fantastic as it takes us listeners on a journey and it's one of those coming of age songs when you really want to go and do something but also knowing that you shouldn't but at the end of the day all you want to do is have fun. The way that Robyn is able to take you on a journey amazes me especially through her humour and catchy lyrics mixed in with her relatable songwriter. Just Need The Wine reminds me of my prom many years ago when you plan to be sensible making this song extremely relatable for myself and hopefully many other listeners. You can f...

INTERVIEW WITH JESS AND THE BANDITS ABOUT THEIR C2C PERFORMANCE

Image
Following C2C 2025 at London's O2 , I had the opportunity to see Jess and The Bandits perform as part of the festival, and following this I recently had the chance to interview Jess about her experience of the festival. Hello Jess, How are you? I'm doing really well. Just settled back into the “real world” after such an incredible high from C2C! You recently performed at C2C London, how were those performances for you? OMG so good! I was a little nervous this year for some reason but the moment I hit those stages, I felt more like myself than I have in years. The fact you kicked Saturday's Countryline Stage with that much energy was fantastic to witness. Thank you so much! I honestly didn't know what to expect being the first on. The advantage to that if you're first on, you get a full soundcheck! So that helped to feel confident knowing the sound was great and we were warmed up. The audience was so ready for a good time and that made it even more fun. You performed...

NEIGHBOURS 40TH ANNIVERSARY REVIEW

Image
Despite all the challenges recently that Krista Sinclair and Leo Tanaka have been through to make it to their wedding in this week's 40th anniversary episodes have been wonderful to see that characters even though they go through a tough time can actually make it through - yes, I know there have been lies and something in-between however for this pair it worked out for the better. The way that Neighbours manage to bring the community out to celebrate special events such as this wedding, but it was the writing of the vows that were emotional to hear thanks to Majella Davis and Tim Kano's connection to the way that they were said knowing their characters inside and out. Majella plays the emotional side of Krista brilliantly. The attention to detail throughout the week has been fantastic to see their chemistry grow and grow even in those emotional moments who Leo took on Seb - Leo will do anything to protect Krista that's obvious! That final scene of the week - I'm shook...

INTERVIEW WITH LILY GRACE AS WE GET TO KNOW HER AND TALK ABOUT HER ALBUM

This week's interview is with  Lily Grace  who is a Australian singer-songwriter who I recently had the opportunity to talk with to discuss her debut album released last year whilst getting to know more about the talented artist. Hi Lily. I am honoured to be featuring you. How are you today? I'm great, so happy to be chatting with you. Can I please ask you to introduce yourself to our readers? G'day! My name's Lily Grace. I’m an Australian pop/country artist living in Nashville. I write songs for the girls who are just trying to figure out life, navigate friendships or dating, and have a dang good time when doing it! With you being an Australian native, but living in Nashville - how have you found the move? Amazing, but cold! I’ve been taking trips back-and-forth from Australia to Nashville for a while now, but now I can officially say “I LIVE here” which is the coolest thing ever. When you dream about doing something for such a long time, it's a surreal thing when ...
