INTERVIEW WITH KARISSA ELLA ABOUT HER LATEST TWO SINGLES

This week's interview with Karissa Ella who earlier this year returned after a year away with new music and has since released two songs that we spoke about in this interview as well as getting to know this wonderful artist.

Hello Karissa, can I please ask you to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! My name is Karissa Ella, and I'm a country artist based in Nashville, TN. I write and sing my own music, traveling across the U.S. and one day, I hope to take my music across the pond, too! I was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Tennessee to attend Belmont University which led me to chase my dream in Music City. Surrounded by incredible talent and inspiration, I knew I didn't want to live with any “what ifs”. So, I took the leap and I've been rockin' and rollin' ever since! My music is available on all streaming platforms. I've been recognized by CMT, Taste of Country, PEOPLE Magazine, and more. I've also had the honor of opening for artists like David Nail, Avery Anna, Martina McBride, Tyler Hubbard, Kendell Marvel, and more. In 2025, I've released two singles so far - "Heartbreaker" and "Last Call Cowboy", and this is just the beginning! There's so much more music coming your way, so be sure to follow along!

How would you describe your musical style in 3 words?
Authentic, Energetic, Heartfelt!

Being a UK page, I have to ask you do you have any plans to visit this part of the world?
I would love to play music in the UK or anywhere across the pond! I visited a few years ago and had the time of my life. I've been dying to go back, and it would be even more incredible to travel and share my music while I'm there!

In January, you released your first single after a year-long break called Heartbreaker, can you tell us a little about the track?
The moment I heard this song, I knew I had to record it. I loved its power, strength, and sass, and I'm so grateful to Chase Bryant, Kasey Tyndall, and Jeb Gipson for letting me bring it to life! This song is all about walking away from what no longer serves you and letting heartbreak make you, not break you.

Did you always plan on having Heartbreaker as your first single of 2025?
The past year has been packed with songwriting, studio time, and playing shows, and I couldn't wait to share what I've been working on! We wanted to kick things off with something upbeat and powerful, and this heartbreak anthem felt like the perfect way to start!
I have to say that Heartbreaker is one brilliantly written song that captures emotions beautifully.

Back at the end of the February, you released your brand new single, Last Call Cowboy please talk us through the song.
"Last Call Cowboy" is all about living in the moment, taking chances, and knowing your worth - never settling for less. I hope listeners walk away with a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the moment, even when love isn't meant to last. This song is a reminder that some people come into our lives for a night, a season, or just a fleeting chapter, but that doesn’t make the experience any less meaningful. It's about embracing adventure whether it's just one dance or something more. You never know... that cowboy might just turn out to be your forever cowboy after all!
Last Call Cowboy is one bittersweet song and the lyrics are brilliantly written.

I have to ask what was the song-writing process like these two songs?
These two songs are a unique situation for me! I typically write or co-write my own music so cutting “Heartbreaker” - a song I didn't write was a new experience. While recording outside songs is a great way to showcase Nashville's incredible songwriters, there's something truly special about being in the room when the song is born which is why I love writing my own music. "Last Call Cowboy" was written with my friends, Carver Louis and Cassidy Best, and we had an absolute blast creating it. There were laughs, chocolate cookies, and just a good time all around maybe that’s the secret ingredient to a great song? It all started with a title and turned into a story, and I love how both of these songs came to life!

How would you describe your previous two releases in 2 words?
Fun and bold!

Thank you so much for your time, Karissa it was a pleasure and hopefully we can speak again soon.
