THE DINGLE'S ONCE AGAIN PROVE WHY THEY ARE THE BEST SOAP FAMILY AS THEY RALLY AROUND CAIN

During the previous two episodes of Emmerdale, The Dingles were at the full-front as Cain Dingle let his family in on his cancer diagnosis, proving why once again why The Dingle's are the show's strongest family.

Last night (Monday 9th March) saw a Cain Dingle Focused Episode and one that was carefully delivered thanks to Adam Sales thoughtful writing. During the first moments of the episode, Sarah Sugden visited her grandad, Cain who informed her that Joe Tate knew that he was the one that stole his car as Sarah once again told him that it's time he told his wife, Moira Dingle the truth about his health. During a scene in The Woolpack, Sarah saw Jacob Sugden who quickly stormed off as Belle Dingle demanded answers after seeing an upset Sarah. Later, Cain went to see Liam Cavanagh regarding a development in his health, with Liam being the person that Cain needs - Liam and Cain's friendship is fantastic to see continue as he seems to be the only one he lets his guard down with.

A heart-breaking moment came as Cain broke the news about his cancer diagnosis to Moira with her breaking down as they spoke about what's next - these are the kind of scenes that Emmerdale deliver well and with such care. This was a special kind of scene that I wish Emmerdale delivered more of especially with the 15 year relationship between Moira and Cain. Natalie J Robb and Jeff Hordley working fantastically together knowing their characters inside and out.

Tonight's episode (Tuesday 10th March) was another Dingle based episode as Cain decided it was time to tell his family starting with Belle Dingle, Caleb Milligan, Sam Dingle, and Chas Dingle at Wishing Well where Cain thanked Sarah for her support, but it wasn't long before the wider Dingle family learn the truth about Cain's health with Sam breaking down in the toilets as Lydia Dingle found him. There was something that Cain talking to Zak that felt very nostalgia and a moment that saw the strong characters walls break down. In The Woolpack, Charity Dingle spoke with Sarah as Cain walked into the pub to his family.

With the family now knowing Cain decided it was time Isaac and Kyle learnt the truth in a heartfelt scene with some beautifully written open dialogue. Soon afterwards, Sam said some kind words about how Cain is always there for them, and now it's their time to be there for him - this is why the Dingle's are my favourite family on the show! However, it was the final scene of Cain learning that Moira had sold Butler's Farm that left Cain surprised.

Adam Sales, thank you for writing for writing two brilliant episodes that followed on from one another fantastically.

This episode of Emmerdale aired on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th March, 2026 at 8pm on ITV1, and YouTube, and ITVX from 7am.
