SINGLE REVIEW - POPPY FARDELL - HOMETOWN HERO

Tomorrow (Friday 30th October) will see British singer-songwriter, Poppy Fardell release her latest single, Hometown Hero.

Hometown Hero starts with a piano instrumental which gives the song this most wonderful start even though at times it can give off this sadness at times.
The first verse sees Poppy's soft vocals at the forefront allowing the lyrics to deliver the message wonderfully clearly, and one of purity complimented beautifully by the piano instrumental which is stunning throughout.
The chorus has many wonderful lyrics that get you thinking right from the very first moment the lyrics kick in and wow, I got emotional. Poppy's vocal range changed to this little higher vocal which I loved and it was brilliantly placed. The journey within the lyrics is beautiful, and standout thanks to its emotionalness!
The second verse continues Hometown Hero beautifully as the story continues with this real empowerment about the song which was needed in a way that I wasn't expecting to hear working beautifully. Poppy's crisp and warm vocal is everything, and timed beautifully.
The final verse of Hometown Hero is so much softer than the other two verses which is beautiful listening, and allows the lyrics their moment to stand out.
Hometown Hero ending with the chorus is perfect with Poppy's softer side returning.

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. The first verses sees Eleri's soft vocal at the forefront with lyrics that get you thinking of those moments at a gig that you don't think you'll ever get to see takes me back to experiencing Priscilla Block with Eleri last year, oh the memories. The second verse sees the song take another turn of when you feel like things aren't working out but you are determined to learn from the lesson it's given you. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics that I could myself singing along with despite not knowing the lyrics 100% typical Kellie. EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said.
