CHRISTMAS EP REVIEW - MADDIE AND TAE - WE NEED CHRISTMAS

Last Friday (23rd October) US singer-songwriter duo, Maddie and Tae released their Christmas EP, We Need Christmas.
We Need Christmas features 6 tracks and 2 of which are originals.
Maddie and Tae released We Need Christmas via Snakefarm Records here in the UK.

This Christmas has a very funky, and jolly feel to start this wonderful Christmas EP off. The first verse sees Maddie's festive sounding vocals at the forefront of the song which I love as it has this softer warm feel. I adore Maddie and Tae's harmonies throughout This Christmas as it allows the listening to hear this wonderfully upbeat feel to the song. As the second verse kicks in Maddie and Tae take the lead together allowing the jolly lyrics shine through which is just beautiful listening. The instrumental throughout is just beautiful bringing the song to live so much. The final verse of This Christmas is a little softer allowing this super sentimental feel to the song come across.

Holly Jolly Christmas has this rather special and beautiful Christmas feel instantly to the song thanks to its wonderful instrumental. The first verse sees Maddie's jolly vocals opening the song up fantastically with her gorgeous tone which compliments the lyrics wonderfully. The instrumental is beautiful throughout allowing so much for the song come to live as the chorus came upon. The chorus features some beautifully softer vocals from both Maddie and Tae which once again allows the listeners a real crisp Christmassy vibe to the song. The final verse of Holly Jolly Christmas has this wonderfully sentimental feel about them which with the ladies harmonies, and duetting the verses - I adored this!

O Come All Ye Faithful starts with this warm, crisp Christmassy feel thanks to Maddie and Tae's harmonies with the gospel sound right at the start. Maddie and Tae have voices like at angel, and my god their hamornies - INCREDIBLE! The first verse sees Maddie and Tae's take on the role of having joint vocal which was just magical! There is something so beautiful, and precious about the ladies and this song allowing every single listener the opportunity to hear their stunning vocals throughout this song. Hearing Maddie and Tae's take on this Christmas song has me excited for Christmas.

Happy Married Christmas has this warm, magically instrumental to which has me excited.
The first verse sees Maddie and Tae's together on the vocals which is beautiful as it allows both of these young ladies the opportunity to once again show off their beautiful harmonies. The songwriting from Maddie and Tae is just beautiful and honest which makes me smile because you can tell how much the lyrics mean to them. The chorus features some rather heartfelt, and gorgeous lyrics that make me smile - and you feel rather loved. The second and third verses continue Merry Married Christmas in the most heartfelt way which I have a feeling listeners will love. The chorus is the most beautiful end to this song.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) starts with a guitar instrumental which opens the song up wonderfully. The first verse sees Maddie opening the song up beautifully with her soft vocals. Maddie's take over this festive favourite is just stunning, and the attention to detail is beautiful throughout all the verses which just gave me goosebumps at times. In the second verse which sees Tae joining Maddie with her softer backing vocals which adds this whole another level to the song.

We Need Christmas starts with a soulful slow instrumental which I instantly caught myself loving.
The first verse sees Maddie and Tae's softer vocals at the forefront taking turns on the lines which had the raw and honesty to the lyrics which you can hear are based on this years coronavirus and the world being paused and slowed down. The chorus has some incredibly heartfelt lyrics that I caught myself getting so emotional over at times thanks to the honesty within the lyrics. The lyrics throughout We Need Christmas are just stunning and really heart wrecking at times. Thank you, Maddie and Tae for writing this beautiful song that many of us need in our lives.
