SINGLE REVIEW - HALLE KEARNS - PLANS

This Friday (16th April) will see US Country-Pop singer-songwriter, Halle Kearns release her brand new single, Plans.
Plans is the follow up single to her debut EP, Finally released in December 2020.

Plans starts with a mandolin instrumental alongside a guitar and some other percussion that happens to give a wonderful introduction as it wasn't something I was expecting, but it works so well throughout Plans.
The first verse sees Halle's soft, crisp vocal tone at the forefront of plans which sees a personal connection to the lyrics that I have to say works beautifully with the sentimental feel to the song. I caught myself relating back to the past 12 months as I was listening to this song, and wondering if it was written about the past year?!
The chorus of Plans features some of the most wonderfully gorgeous lyrics with a little bit more of an upbeat feel which I caught myself being able to connect with mostly thanks to the pure honesty within the lyrics. The songwriting throughout this chorus is wonderful as it blends perfectly into every single part bringing Plans together fantastically.
The second verse of Plans continues with a softer vocal from Halle that allows the lyrics there moment to shine in a way that allows the listeners to hear a different side of who Halle is as an artist - this is something I love hearing during a song like this. I love the change in direction from Halle as the song develops and grows.
The final verse of Plans sees Halle's even softer vocal at the forefront allowing the lyrics to shine though in the most stunning way.

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. The second verse sees the song take another turn of when you feel like things aren't working out but you are determined to learn from the lesson it's given you. EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said.
