*MY OPINION* WHY CARLA AND LISA ARE INTERESTING TOGETHER AS THEY DECIDE TO GIVE THEIR RELATIONSHIP A GO

Over the past week of scenes on Coronation Street, viewers have witnessed Carla Connor and DS Swain go through a lot emotionally, but I have to say there is something about this soap pairing that I am really enjoying as they just work together as this week has shown even through they have played with many viewers emotions.

Last Friday's episode (22nd November) saw Carla and DS Lisa Swain kiss and sleep together which was interrupted by Betsy Swain drama after Lisa missed a call which she did twice in tonight's episode (29th November). However, Monday's episode (25th November) saw the Carla and Lisa struggle with their emotions as DS Swain said that she didn't feel ready for a relationship, but moments later Carla was seen laying injured on the Underworld factory floor where Lisa quickly rushed to her side following Betsy telling her the news. There was something about the moment that Betsy saw Lisa emotional allowing for viewers to see a different side of their relationship.

Following the news of Carla's injury from Betsy, Wednesday's episode (27th November) saw Lisa sat by Carla's bedside before going to see her again later in the episode which shows just how much these characters love one another, however, neither really know where things are wanting to go, but also Lisa doesn't want to hurt Betsy especially after Becky's death. All Roy Cropper wants is for Carla to be happy and I think Lisa could be the one make her truly happy once again.
With Carla in hospital, Betsy was worried as she went to visit her where Carla questioned her about the break in seeing right through her, however, there was also a moment where DS Swain recognised Matty Radcliffe (one of Mason's brothers) following her questioning him as someone who had something to do with her late wife Becky's death - this is something that really interested me as I kind of believe that Matty and Logan Radcliffe have known all along about Betsy being Lisa's daughter plus there is definitely a lot more to Becky's death than us viewers already know.

Tonight's episode (29th November) saw Carla released from hospital and all she wanted was for Lisa to be there and was disappointed that she wasn't there - there was something so simple yet, but her little disappointed face said a lot.
You've gotta love that Roy was the one to give Lisa some very wise words of wisdom regarding her relationship/ feelings for Carla, and the way that Lisa just said it straight that she has feeling was a beautiful moment with Carla's facial expression saying a thousand words. I also get why Carla is wary at the beginning of their conversation before they both finally agreed to give things another go sealing things with a kiss which featured many parallels from last week's which I thought was an interesting move. It was good to see Lisa finally start to let her guard down she she started letting Carla in completely which in my opinion was fantastic.

The way that Lisa just blurted out to Betsy about her and Carla was great as despite Carla knowing about Betsy's involvement in her injury, she's determined to protect her showing that Carla really does care for her as well as her mum, and I feel like Carla doesn't want to come between them, whilst also understanding that they both have needs. Carla just wants what is best for both, Betsy and Lisa!
I am excited to see what's to come for Swarla!

There was something so beautiful and perfectly showcased within all the emotions that the characters have been/ are going through individually as well as together during this massive jump for both of the characters.

The chemistry between Alison King and Vicky Myers as Carla and Lisa is a brilliant one and the way that Sydney Martin fits in perfectly as Betsy is a credit to Coronation Street for the casting of Lisa and Betsy Swain.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday's at 8pm on ITV with episodes available from 7am on ITVX.
