GIRLS ALOUD LAUNCH CHILDREN IN NEED 2024 SINGLE

Earlier this morning (6th November), the official Children In Need single for 2024 was revealed in the form of Girls Aloud's I'll Stand By You first released in 2004, however, 20 years later it's being released again but this time with the late Sarah Harding on lead vocals in a new version - I remember hearing this version as part of their tour this June and being in tears when I heard it and this morning was no different.

The new version of I'll Stand By You (Sarah's version) was given it's exclusive first play on The Zoe Ball Show as part of her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Introducing the track, Nadine Coyle said:“Good morning Zoe, it's Nadine here from Girls Aloud. We have something really special to share with you this morning. This is the official Children in Need single for 2024. We’ve made a new version of I’ll Stand By You which features our wonderful Sarah on lead vocals throughout. It really is a special celebration of Sarah and also Girls Aloud’s involvement with Children in Need over the years. So, for the first time, here on Radio 2, this is the Children in Need single for 2024, I’ll Stand By You.”

Speaking on Girls Aloud's official instagram of the release, the band shared: “This year marks the 20th anniversary of our BBC @bbccin single ‘I’ll Stand By You’. To celebrate and honour our amazing Sarah, we’re releasing a brand-new studio version of the track once again in support of BBC’s @bbccin. ‘I’ll Stand By You (Sarah’s Version)’ features Sarah on lead vocal throughout using vocals we discovered in the Girls Aloud vault from the original recording sessions. The track played a key part in our ‘The Girls Aloud Show’ arena tour this summer and was an emotional moment for us all.”

Please tell me I wasn't the only fan in tears as they heard this version?

I'll Stand By You (Sarah's version) will be available for download on Friday 15th November - the day of Children In Need.
