SOPHOMORE ALBUM REVIEW - KAMERON MARLOWE - KEEPIN' THE LIGHTS ON

Today (Friday 31st May) American country singer-songwriter, Kameron Marlowe is releasing his sophomore album, Keepin' The Lights On which is made up of 16 tracks.

Kameron's sophomore album opens with 911 which has an upbeat instrumental with the fun being a fun one alongside many 911 moments you would expect from the title allowing for some great storytelling, but you can't help but sing along with the catchy chorus.
Nothin' Slowing Us Down features a wonderfully soft vocal from Kameron with some heartfelt storytelling to shine through allowing for the listeners to get a little honesty, whilst hearing him talk about his relationship.
On My Way Out sees Kameron's crisp tone mixed with heartfelt lyrics allowing for many brilliant moments demonstrating a lot of growth through the journey of life especially within the second verse which saw me become emotional due to Kameron's vulnerability.
Never Really Know is a beautifully crafted song with a soft instrumental complimenting Kameron's softer tone mixed with the heartfelt storytelling allowed for many emotional moments. The lyrics are powerful and like Kameron said you 'Never Really Know' would people are going through in their own lives so be kind to one another! One of my standout songs from Kameron.
Next up is Tennessee Don't Mind which is a fun song thanks to the upbeat instrumentals with an emotional meaning that I caught myself listening to closely.
Leaning on You is filled with a lot of vulnerability and love for your loved ones. Written from the heart and having that one person you trust is everything! All I have to say about this song is WOW! another favourite from Kameron.
I Can Run shows off Kameron's softer tone with lyrics that are written brilliantly with a heartbreaking story that is filled with a mix of emotions.
Beginning with a slower soft tone, High Hopes is features many heartfelt lyrics with a chorus that sees a lot of vulnerability shine through as well as honesty allowing for the beautiful songwriting to be showcased.

Next from Kameron is One That I Don't Call which starts with vulnerability about missing that one person you want to call, but know that you shouldn't. One That I Don't Call is such a powerful song that I caught myself tearing up over a few times making it one of my favourites. Thank you for singing from the heart.
With Kameron's crisp tone, Lock Me Up is a darker sounding song with the chorus showcasing some brilliant song-writing. There is something about the way that all the verses are linked together that make this song brilliant with its small town vibes mixed with a great instrumental.
Will Be There In The Morning is a beautiful song that I was moved by with Kameron's soft crisp vocal at the forefront with lyrics that tell the most beautiful story filled with love. The chorus is gorgeous and the female harmonies are great for allowing for a capturing moment as it links all the verses beautifully together.
Quit You is a relationship based song that takes us listeners on a journey and this one is happy! The chorus is heartfelt filled with moments where you realise that you can't live without them and the lyrics blend into every single verse in a wonderful way. Kameron definitely wears his heart on his sleeve with this track. The sentimental feel at the end is carefully crafted with many poignant moments.
Filled with a lot of memories, Smaller is made up of some beautiful storytelling with many beautiful moments. Smaller features a sad turn making you want to cherish your loved ones and appreciate them!
Full of heartbreak Strangers featuring Ella Langley features a lot of emotion that allows for some brilliant harmonies from Kameron and Ella throughout in some standout moments whilst also remaining heartfelt. Strangers takes you on a journey where you can't be friends following the break up, but you also can't be strangers its tough and the twists and turns make the song exciting.
Beginning with a piano instrumental, Broke Down In A Truck is filled with vulnerability with the chorus being filled with many personal lyrics that you feel Kameron's letting us in on a personal song. I caught myself listening to this brilliant song with tears in my eyes. The different vocal ranges were brilliantly thought about.
Keepin' The Lights On is a song filled with a lot of childhood memories that is loved with a lot of love and appreciation with many powerful lyrics mixed with great story-telling that is the perfect blend! You can hear how thankful he is for his family and all they did for him growing up and continue to do for him. The instrumental is brilliantly suited.
