HOLLYOAKS HAS BEEN HARD-HITTING THIS WEEK

Over the past few weeks, Hollyoaks has become my go to soap and even with all these changes being reported due to cast leaving both on screen as well as people behind the scenes as the show is changing from 5 episodes a week to just 3 in September 2024.

Over the years, Hollyoaks have delivered some of the best hard-hitting storylines which have educated a lot of viewers. You only have to look on social media to see this as well as getting viewers talking and telling their loved ones of their own problems following the previous two weeks. However, in reality it's not always that easy which is OK as everyone's journey is different and Hollyoaks are great at highlighting this!

There is one storyline at the moment which is breaking me as I am watching and is one of the most hard-hitting storylines I have seen since Hannah Ashworth's anorexia back in 2010 which involves Frankie Osborne's abuse storyline which has seen Isabelle Smith and Ryan Mulvey do brilliant jobs which I have no doubt must be hard for them to get into the right zone for their scenes. However, this week's scenes were the most hard-hitting of them all especially as throughout the week things accelerated especially seeing the vulnerability within Frankie's eyes as JJ's true colours started to shine through to many people allowing for Isabelle to deliver some heart-breaking scenes.

Also, the past few weeks viewers have seen Lucas Hay come out to his father, Ste Hay in a heartfelt scene in the hospital after his ordeal, as well as rebuild his friendship with Dillion and tonight (17th May) saw them share their first kiss which many fans on twitter/ x were delighted with.
Nathaniel Dass and Oscar Curtis have great chemistry which is great for their characters storyline.

Thank you, Hollyoaks for taking certain storylines slowly and crafting them brilliantly.

During tonight's episode (13th November) of Coronation Street viewers were treated to a series of flashbacks this time in the frame are Lauren Bolton and Max Turner who only recently got back together are the ones I have been most excited to see having said to friends for weeks they definitely have to be involved somehow if they were suspects thinking back to everything she's been through.  However, Monday's episode (11th November) Lauren's body language dramatically change in my opinion, and Max's side eye following Ed Bailey buying him a drink, but it was Sabrina Adetiba's sudden reappearance that left me with even more questions. NEXT WEEK ON CORONATION STREET: LAUREN STRUGGLES AFTER RECENT EVENTS

Following a tough few months for Lauren Bolton since her return back in July, it's no wonder next week she is set to struggle once again when it comes to her son, Frankie who was saw during last night's episode (18th November) is out of hospital with them both in a foster placement. Following last Friday's episode (15th November) where viewers discovered that Lauren Bolton was the one to have killed Joel Deering, and honestly who can blame her following everything that she has been through, it was a full circle moment, however it was her boyfriend, Max Turner that took the wrap for her leading him to be arrested and charged - the things you do for love! CORONATION STREET EPISODE REVIEW - WHO KILLED JOEL DEERING REVEALED

During tonight's episode (15th November), Coronation Street viewers were treated to an exciting series of flashbacks from the night that Joel Deering was murdered, with the killer being revealed at the end. Following Wednesday's cliff-hanger (13th November) of Max Turner in his cell saying 'what have you done?' with tonight's episode beginning with a shot of Max being interviewed with close up of the suspect characters and their motives which were cleverly delivered to us viewers - the way Max was wanting to protect Lauren Bolton was obvious, however the fact that Lauren thought Max was going to do something said a lot. I liked how Coronation Street decided to deliver each character's part of the story in between PC Kit Green's police interview with each of the suspects which is very cleverly achieved as it left us viewers thinking that it could have been any of them right up until the moment it was revealed.
