TENILLE ARTS WINS HER FIRST CCMA AWARD
Tenille Arts started the week with news her current single, Somebody Like That hit Number 27 Mediabase and Number 28 Billboard and ended the week winning the Rising Star award at last night’s 38th Annual Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
A stunned Tenille was presented the trophy as she was about to introduce Lindsay Ell’s performance during a taped segment in Nashville.
“It is such an honor to take home the Rising Star Award,” said Tenille who originally hails from Weyburn, Saskatchewan. “The CCMAs have been a part of my life and my career for many years now, and it feels incredible to be recognized in this way! I’m so grateful to all of the CCMA members who voted for me. It’s just the beginning, and I’m so excited!”
The 2020 CCMA Awards presented by TD were filmed in two locations, Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Ontario - home to the four-time CCMA Award-winning Boots and Hearts Music Festival - and in Nashville, TN and aired on Canada’s Global TV.
Tenille’s Somebody Like That single which she wrote with Alex Kline and Allison Veltz, continues to make an impact in both the U.S. and Canada.
Somebody Like That spent three weeks atop the Radio Disney Country Chart and netted her Songwriter of the Year at May’s Saskatchewan Country Music Awards.
Hot on the heels of the CCMA Awards win, Tenille’s Everybody Knows Everybody single just hit the Top 30 in Canada and the official music video is being released today.
Also written by Tenille with Alex Kline and Allison Veltz, the upbeat song is included on her Love, Heartbreak, & Everything In Between album on 19th & Grand Records.
