Country Things has an extremely country feel with a mandolin instrumental which I happen to just adore which sets the tone of the song perfectly for the guitar to come in. The first verse sees Granger's proper manly vocals shine through with all of the country feels being given off which I have to say is just incredible, and all things country boys and girls will be able to relate with! The chorus features some fantastically catchy lyrics that are purely fun, and upbeat keeping to the theme of the song perfectly. The second verse continues Country Things beautifully with it's story of boy meeting girl and picking her up for the date etc but in such a wonderful way. The final verse of Country Things wonderfully ties all the parts of the song together beautifully. The final chorus brings Country Things together incredibly. My favourite song of the album.
Hate You Like I Love You starts with a guitar instrumental which sets the tone of the song fantastically. The first verse sees Granger's soft vocals at the forefront of the single, and I adore the lyrics from the very start in which you can hear so much emotion within. The storytelling within this song is just amazing, and so warm. The chorus features some incredibly heartfelt lyrics that I caught myself singing along with, and wanting to dance too. I love the vibes of this song, and this song is perfect for these moments when you are feeling low about a relationship. Granger has so much passion for the lyrics that you can hear have been on a journey. The second verse continues the beautiful storytelling of Hate You Like I Love You rather emotionally but one I have a feeling a lot of listeners will be able to relate too. The final verse of Hate You Like I Love You is one that is a little slower allowing the lyrics to shine through this verse lead in beautifully to the final chorus of the song.
I Kill Spiders starts with an electric guitar instrumental which instantly has a very different kind of feel to the album which I have to admit I rather enjoyed hearing. The first verse sees Granger demonstrating his maternal side within the lyrics of the song especially within the meaning of the song which you hear. The lyrics are beautifully written, and compliments beautifully with his soft vocals heading into the chorus as the lyrics. The second verse of I Kill Spiders is beautifully continued with the father saviour happening and it makes such a beautiful song. The final verse sees Granger change his vocal tone which I have to admit is a wonderful move as it allows the lyrics to shine through clearly once again ahead of the song ending.
That's Why I Love Dirt Roads starts with a funky guitar instrumental which I like as it compliments Granger's vocal right from the start. The first verse sees Granger's upbeat vocal range at the forefront which works wonderfully with the lyrics, and the meaning of the song is clearly shown. The chorus has some wonderfully catchy lyrics to the song that many times I caught myself singing along with. The lyrics that are featured give off a wonderful country feel that I just adore. The second verse of That's Why I Love Dirt Roads continues the song wonderfully as it runs wonderfully from the chorus as the lyrics are just beautifully carried on from one part of the song to another. The final verse of That's Why I Love Dirt Roads is one of pure wonderfulness that I caught myself wanting to sing along with in a much softer vocal tone which leads beautifully into the final chorus of the song.
Mexico starts with a guitar instrumental which has the perfect kind of country vibes being given off right from the start. The first verse sees Granger's soft but meaningful vocals at the forefront of the single which I just loved hearing as the lyrics are just beautiful. The chorus features some incredibly soft, and meaningful lyrics that give off so many incredibly happy vibes that you can hear how much Granger adores single lyrics he has written. The chorus is so catchy, and I love this about this part of the song especially the more I hear it! The second verse of Mexico continues fantastically as the story continues within the song beautifully with the emotion being captured wonderfully. I love the summery vibes this song gives off the more, I hear the lyrics. The final verse of Mexico is a little slower allowing Granger to highlight many of it's happier lyrics leading into the final chorus of the song that's the song fantastically.
Chevys, Hemis, Yodas & Fords starts with an electric guitar instrumental which has a wonderful powerful feel to the song right from the start. The first verse sees Granger's husky vocals at the forefront of the song in a way that is just wonderful to hear and one that allows the lyrics to shine right through. The lyrics are rather fun leading into the chorus. The chorus features some wonderfully fun, sassy lyrics. The second verse of Chevys, Hemis, Yodas & Fords continues beautifully with the story within the lyrics being brilliantly demonstrated. The instrumental in the middle of the song breaks it up beautifully with the drum, and slowed down guitar. The final verse of Chevys, Hemis, Yodas & Fords is one that in the most upbeat which allows Granger the opportunity to show off his wonderful vocal range.
Heroes starts with a soulful, slow instrumental from the piano which allows Granger to show off his more vulnerable side with the lyrics of the song especially leading into the first verse. The lyrics are so beautifully thought about that makes me emotional. This song is definitely one that Granger has written since becoming a father, and I adore the attention to detail within the lyrics. The chorus has many incredible lyrics that every father should play to their child because it is just incredibly magical! The second verse continues Heroes beautifully, and the credit he gives to the teachers of the children eg the parents and it is so beautifully thought about. The final verse brings Heroes together rather beautifully, and I caught myself getting emotional once again thanks to Granger's vocal range. I adore that Heroes ends with the chorus as it brings the song together magically.
Country and Ya Know It (feat. Earl Dibbles, Jr.) starts with a very country instrumental which is just the perfect ending for this part of the album as everything about it is so perfect. The first verse sees Granger's proper vocals at the forefront with the lyrics being super catchy, and upbeat which is just wonderfully to hear with the lyrics being upbeat too. The chorus has some beautifully catchy lyrics in the beat of if you are happy and you know it. The second verse of Country and Ya Know It continues on the song fantastically thanks to the lyrics and it's country vibes. In the middle of the song it's instrumental is just wonderful to hear as it breaks the song up wonderfully. The final verse of Country and Ya Know It is one of pure happiness, and its upbeat lyrics are just wonderfully timed.
