LAST WEEK'S HOLLYOAKS EPISODES HAVE BEEN EMOTIONAL

*Sorry this review is a few days late, but I wasn't 100% I was going to share*

It's safe to say that the past week's Hollyoaks episodes have been full of emotions from Ste Hay and James Nightingale's wedding to Juliet Nightingale's hospital news then to her opening up to her family.

Earlier in the week, viewers saw Juliet Nightingale being told that her cancer is terminal with her girlfriend, Peri Lomax by her side in some highly emotional scenes as her brother, James and his now husband, Ste got married later in the week.

There was something about the scenes this week between Peri and Juliet that saw a side to Peri that I haven't seen in a while and it broke me quite a few times. I have to admit I am guilty of not always thinking about their loved ones enough as they are hurting as well and sometimes twice as much. The way that Ruby O'Donnell and Niamh Blackshaw work together is super special and credit where it's due to them knowing your characters so well.

The dialogue throughout this week as Juliet came to terms with the news was emotional to watch especially the scenes of her telling her mum allowing to have some wonderful scenes of Donna Marie supporting her daughter and her loved ones in some heartbreaking scenes especially as Juliet filmed her video for James, tears were streaming down my eyes.

The way that Peri was there for Juliet throughout this week seeing them smile despite the hard times has been fantastic to see as they are the moments we'll remember. As well as seeing Juliet and Donna-Marie develop, but I really loved that Juliet was the one to finally tell her brother the truth about her dying in another emotional scene. Niamh, you are a brilliant actress delivering this story so beautifully and you can see the amount of research that has gone into this storyline.

These episodes of Hollyoaks aired between Monday 15th - Friday 19th May on Channel 4 as well as E4 and All 4 where you can stream them now.
