EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - LIV SUFFERS AN INJURY AS CAIN IS DISOWNED BY CHAS

This week’s episodes of Emmerdale have seen Liv Flaherty suffer another setback, but with Liv now believing in herself could things be about to change?

The week started with Liv’s on/off boyfriend Vinny Dingle arrive back from the hospital following his stay after being caught up in Meena Julta’s recent plans. Vinny was determined to see Liv Flaherty. However, tensions arise as Vinny learns that Chas Dingle told Liv about Meena’s confession. As Vinny goes to see Liv in prison, he reveals to the truth about the confession and that they need more evidence than hearsay. I get that Liv is worried and wants to get out of prison, but taking it out on Vinny isn't going to get you anywhere, you should be supporting one another.
Back in her cell, Liv cries where her cellmate, Mel checked in on her where she becomes upset asking for a drink as she broke down. The harsh truths during this scene with the camera angles were a fantastic mix. The final scene was an emotional one with Liv on the floor of her cell all injured. Poor Liv!

Mandy Dingle was worried about Vinny following him getting upset after his visit with Liv especially as Vinny goes to visit Liv in hospital. The way that Vinny rushes to see Liv is rather sweet, you can see how much he genuinely cares about her. As Vinny and Liv talk at her bedside, Vinny’s heartbreak is apparent as he struggled to support Liv. Liv bringing up her dad showed a vulnerable side of the character. What an emotional scene as Vinny continued to need Liv as much as Liv needs Vinny. Isobel Steele and Bradley Johnson never fail to amaze me with the way they work fantastically together!
Back at Butlers’, Vinny was in tears as Mandy admits that she needs to help Vinny as he breaks down in the van.

Its Zak Dingle’s birthday as the family celebrate and the family talk about plans for Liv’s escape love how Mandy is looking out for Vinny. Later, Vinny went to see Manpreet and sat by her bedside as Marlon Dingle entered telling Vinny of The Dingle’s plans to spring Liv out of hospital.

Back at The Hop, Laurel Thomas spots Vinny alone and down in the dumps as Laurel listened to Vinny open up about what happened; it’s obvious how distraught Vinny is over everything. Later, Laurel decided to visit Liv and their talk was a very much needed scene which I really hope changes her mind about how to cope. The dialogue of this scene was a powerful one.

Elsewhere, Manpreet woke up where she had a nightmare of Meena, while hopefully things are about to change for Liv, but it’s a waiting game. Laurel tells Vinny about her visit to Liv was lovely to see Laurel on Vinny’s side and supporting him. Later, Liv calls Vinny where she revealed that she is not giving in sounds like Liv is about to finally turn a corner, but only time will tell. Vinny’s smile at the end of the call was amazing to see.

Also during this week’s episodes, viewers saw Cain Dingle support Liam Cavanagh where he was struggling to process the events as the villagers struggle to accept what happened with Meena especially as she’s on the loose after what she did to her sister, Manpreet and Vinny. Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher argue. I have really enjoy Olivia Bromley and Jay Kontzle scenes. The week delivered a sweet Kim Tate and Dawn Taylor scene that was wonderful to see has a viewer where Kim opened up to Dawn as Kim advices her advice to Dawn about talking to Billy their heart-to-heart was very much needed.
Chas and Marlon refused to sign over The Woolpack, it was revealed later in the week that the pub would be going up for auction.
Later in Home Farm, Kim ignores her phone as Gabby questions her; Gabby is right, Kim. Kim confronts Will and Bernice in the salon where Kim’s words to the pair were needed love the caring side of Kim. Bernice Blackstock opened up to Will about Meena’s actions and Leanna Cavanagh’s death. The way that Bernice then opened up to her sister, Nicola King about how she was feeling was a lovely sisterly moment as Will needs answers as he chats with Kim allowing for another heartfelt moment, as a viewer I am loving seeing this softer side of Kim. Charles Anderson opened up to his son, Ethan about Manpreet as she opened up to Rishi Sharma about how she feels. But when Charles goes to visit Manpreet, he asks for forgiveness where he confesses to running her over she agreed it was an accident.
The week ended with Chas and Marlon looking over to The Woolpack as Cain walked towards them before Chas ended up disowning Cain for what he has done to them.

I have really enjoyed Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield scenes along with Rhona Goskirk and Vanessa scenes; it’s wonderful to see Michelle Hardwick back.

These Emmerdale scenes aired between Monday 17th - Friday 21st January on ITV.
