ISABELLE SMITH TALKS ABOUT THE UPCOMING HOLLYOAKS EPISODES

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes are set to be emotional ones for Frankie Osborne as she continues to open up to her loved ones and to think that Isabelle Smith only arrived on our screens in January of this year.

When asked how would you describe the Osborne/ Ashworth family dynamic over the past few months, Isabelle said "The family dynamic between the Osborne’s and the Ashworth’s has been tricky to navigate for each individual family member..." Before continuing "Her mum Suzanne, Darren and Nancy clash on differing opinions and the outbursts that Frankie has. These acts of defiance are Frankie’s way of coping and they seem to be dividing the family when all she really wants is for them to surround her with support."

Frankie's sibling relationship with Oscar has grown over the past few months since she learned sign language, can you please us about this? "The relationship between Frankie and Oscar is some of my favourite scenes to play! It’s like Frankie comes into her own and offers this almost maternal love to Oscar. Now Frankie is learning sign language, their bond has grown a lot stronger."

Isabelle was also asked about how did you find filming the upcoming scenes with Darren aka Ashley Taylor-Dawson commenting "These scenes were incredibly powerful and so I just wanted to do Frankie’s disclosure the justice it and she deserved. David Crowley our director and our first director Colin Melia along with the entire crew, were fantastic. They allowed me the time and space to really feel each emotion as it came naturally and in turn, I think we’ve created something really powerful. Ashley Taylor Dawson who plays Darren delivered the most beautiful performance."

Isabelle also teased about what's coming up saying "There is going to be many twists and turns within the storyline... Frankie will find comfort in her friendship with Lucas and her relationship with her dad and step mum will continue to grow positively. She reconnects with friends and tries to rebuild her relationship with her mum, but will it all work out? There are going to be some very emotional scenes coming up."

To end Isabelle was asked about what is it like to play Frankie? "Frankie has had a massive character development from when she first came onto screens in January which has been challenging but so rewarding to play. Becoming Frankie takes a lot of research which I have found to be one of my favourite parts of this job."

You can watch Hollyoaks Monday - Friday on E4 at 7pm with First Look episodes following at 7.30pm on Channel 4 streaming.
