NEXT WEEK ON CORONATION STREET: LAUREN FACES AN EMOTIONAL WEEK AS SHE STRUGGLES IN COURT

Nothing ever runs smoothly for Lauren Bolton and next week is no different for the young troubled character played by Cait Fitton who I have to say has shown everyone what a brilliant actress she is.

The week begins with Lauren having a tough day in court, but soon Roy Cropper tells the court what a kind and caring person Lauren Bolton is. The way that Roy and Lauren friendship has continued despite everything is good as they genuinely seem to care for one another. However, Brie is back as she jumps up claiming Lauren hurt her in prison.

A horrified Lauren assures her barrister that she did no such thing as Lauren's barrister telling her that her son, Frankie is not well and has been taken to hospital.
Lauren becomes upset that she can't be with her son that during Max Turner's evidence admitting that she is glad Joel is dead, has this outburst caused her more trouble?

Later in the hospital, Lauren informs Max that Frankie is fighting an infection, however later certain that she is going to prison, Lauren regrets losing her temper as she tells Max that she doesn't care about the trial as the only thing that matters is Frankie and his health. It's obvious how much Lauren adores her son, and everything she does is for him. This poor character has been through so much.

With Lauren continuing to keep vigil by her son's bedside, back in the courtroom the barristers deliver their closing statements.

Dee-Dee Bailey calls and tells Lauren that the jury can't reach an agreement leaving Lauren worried that this is bad sign. Glad that Dee-Dee is back supporting Lauren as we haven't seen much of this recently.

However, with Lauren's fate in the jury's hands there is nothing more that she can do, and returns to the court for the verdict to be given.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday's at 8pm on ITV with episodes available from 7am on ITVX.

COMING UP ON CORONATION STREET OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD: LAUREN ADMITS SHE'S SCARED AHEAD OF THE TRIAL

Between Monday 23rd December and Friday 3rd January visits to the cobbles based soap, Coronation Street viewers will see Lauren Bolton admit just how scared she really is and are we really surprised after the year she has had? Last week's episode following on from the limo crash which saw Suzy Merton, Amy Barton (Wyatt), and Leyla Harding die from their injuries, next week Jacob Gallagher is set for a tough week as the character struggles.
