*OPINION* WHY CHARLOTTE JORDAN LEAVING IS GOING TO BE A LOSS TO CORONATION STREET

Following the news that Charlotte Jordan is set to leave Coronation Street after 4 years after the news broke on Tuesday evening (7th January).

From the very moment it was announced that Charlotte Jordan is due to leave later this year after playing Daisy Midgeley for the past 4 years. I am very rarely shocked when departures are announced as I know people go and out all the time, but for some reason this one kind of feels like an end of the era.

Charlotte first appeared on our screens on 27th November, 2020 as the step-daughter of Jenny Connor and over her time on the cobbles based soap their relationship has been interesting to witness through the good and bad times as well Charlotte has been involved in some interesting storylines including from blackmailing, becoming engaged to Daniel Osborne who viewers know is Daisy's one true love.

Back in 2023, Charlotte's character Daisy was involved in one of the show's Acid Attack following a stalking storyline which saw her go on to win Best Dramatic Performance at 2023's British Soap Awards and what a moment that was to witness as you could see how genuinely grateful Charlotte was for the recognition! With the Acid Attack going on to win Best Single Episode and Scene of the Year at the event recognising Rob Mallard, Ryan Prescott, and Andrew Still who were apart of the storyline as well.

However, with the Daisy having discovered that she is pregnant on Christmas Day with either Kit Green or Daniel Osborne's unborn child, could this play apart in her exit? But over the past few years Daisy's mum has appeared in Weatherfield could she be apart of the character's exit?

I really hope that they give Daisy more screen time ahead of her exit, otherwise I will be very sad as will many other viewers.

I also would like to take the time to wish Charlotte all the very best for whatever she decides to go on and do next as she definitely has a bright future ahead!

But the question remains how will Daisy leave and will the door be left open for Charlotte to return if she wanted to?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday's at 8pm on ITV with episodes available from 7am on ITVX.
