Today (Friday 22nd October) will see Canadian singer-songwriter, Tenille Arts release her brand new album, Girl to Girl.

Back Then, Right Now has a catchy and upbeat instrumental to start which instantly gives this wonderful meaning. The first verse sees Tenille's start Back Then, Right Now with her soft vocal which allows for the listeners to get a real feel for what Tenille is singing about, and the fact that Tenille has clearly written this song from her heart based on a real experience, but I love how Tenille has remained true to her style on her previous singles making me even more excited for the release of this song. The chorus features many catchy lyrics that are also filled with many different emotions that Tenille has shown within this song allowing for this sentimental feel reminding me of my childhood in all honesty. There is something so special and pure about Tenille's vocal tone during this part of the song. I am very excited about hearing Tenille performing this song live as soon as she can safely. The second verse of Back Then, Right Now continues with a softer vocal from Tenille that once again allows for the listeners of the song to get a wonderful idea of who, and what Tenille is when it goes to who songwriting allowing the song many special moments thanks to the warm, homely feel from within the songs stunning lyrics. Back Then, Right Now blends together wonderfully showcasing what an incredible songwriter Tenille is! The bridge is perfectly timed allowing for more of Tenille's vocal range to be demonstrated ahead of the the final verse. I love how Tenille is showcasing off her higher vocal range has it blends perfectly into the songs vibe. The final verse sees Tenille repeat the most poignant lyrics adding another fantastic layer to the single. The fact that the chorus ends Back Then, Right Now wonderfully with her vocal range changing perfectly throughout.
That's My Friend Your Talking About starts with an upbeat instrumental that sees Tenille's crisp tone opening up the first verse. The lyrics feature this wonderful story about when you look at people being in love that sees a different perspective from a friends point of view - the worry. The chorus features some of the most beautiful lyrics as it sees the caring side of a friend in any friendship and the belief - I caught myself relating too. The second verse continues That's My Friend Your Talking About with the most honest lyrics that I caught myself getting a little emotional over as that is what my friends say to me! The bridge sees Tenille's soft vocal repeat the songs most poignant lyrics. The final chorus is repeated in a much softer tone ahead of a more upbeat repeat.

One Bedroom Apartment starts with a slow electric guitar and piano instrumental setting the tone of the song up wonderfully The first verse sees Tenille's soft vocal at the forefront with a beautiful story within the lyrics that I have to admit was very different to the idea, I had in my head for this song but nonetheless I love it! The attention to detail within One Bedroom Apartment. The chorus has a beautiful friendship and love story at the forefront that takes us listeners on a journey. This is a song about growing up and all the memories we create in our favourite places. The second verse continues this message of love and spending time with our favourite people that had a few lyrics that made me a little emotional. The final verse sees One Bedroom Apartment come to a natural end with the chorus being repeated adding another layer that closes the song in a wonderfully emotional way.
Breakup Songs featuring Callista Clark starts with a guitar instrumental adding this sweet crazy feel that is different to the previous two songs. The first and second verse sees Tenille's soft crisp vocal at the forefront with some emotional lyrics taking listeners on a journey of heartbreak as a relationship breaks down and ends. The chorus features extremely emotive lyrics about breaking up with that one person and that hearing all the break up songs won't help so you break up with them too! The honesty within the chorus has me emotional. I love how Tenille and Callista's vocals work so incredibly well together that gave me goosebumps. The final verse sees Callista and Tenille work together once again adding another wonderful layer that I adored especially as it ended into the final chorus.
Life Goes Like That has an upbeat instrumental that I have to say opens the song wonderfully. The first verse sees Tenille's soft sassy vocal tone at the forefront with some of the most honest lyrics I've heard in a while with that moment of growing up and how things change. There is something about the lyrics that are fantastic as you can hear Tenille has written this song based on experience? The chorus features an upbeat instrumental which supports the emotive lyrics as many listeners will be able to relate with the lyrics. There is something magical about how I was listening that had me being emotional. Life Goes Like That is an anthem for sure! The second verse continues Life Goes Like That with this wonderful journey about life and it's journey that people will face and the more I hear the lyrics the more I appreciate this song. The final verse sees Tenille's crisp vocal going wonderfully into the final chorus ending the song in the most wonderful way. I love this song!
Girl To Girl starts with an upbeat quirky guitar instrumental. The first verse sees Tenille's soft crisp vocal at the forefront allowing for the song to take a different turn from what I expected even though I couldn't pin point what I was expecting if you get me. The honesty of talking about what is females go through and how that chat can help us and prepare us is something I admire. The chorus features some romantic lyrics that allow the listeners a chance to create their own picture of. The attention to detail within the chorus is something that makes for wonderful listening and connects to every single verse wonderfully. The second verse continues the meaning of Girl To Girl brilliantly with even more emotive lyrics about the life journey and how things change mostly for the better. The instrumental ahead of bridge is wonderfully toned linking into the final chorus beautifully. I adored the upbeat vibe of the song mixed with different emotions.
Heartbreak Regulars has a soft but at times a little more upbeat instrumental. The first and second verses sees Tenille's crisp vocal opening with the song taking you on a journey that you can't help but listen extremely carefully too. There is something super special about Tenille's tone throughout that had me excited for what's next. I can really picture the lyrics. The chorus are quiet upbeat yet they have this raw emotional feel thanks to the heartbreak is one of those songs that takes you on a journey from start to finish. I love the 'we ain't gonna judge you' vibe giving this feel of we are all in this together. Ahead of the final chorus being sung the instrumental break up had a very electric feel thanks to the electric guitar. The final chorus saw Tenille's soft vocal return once again alongside her crisp tone that has stayed throughout the whole song.
Mama's Boy starts with this upbeat feel thanks to the many instruments used. The first verse sees Tenille's crisp upbeat tone that allows for us listeners to hear the attention to detail within her voice and in the lyrics giving them the opportunity to shine through. I love the sassy vibes that you get from the songs lyrics at times too! The chorus features even of the sassy vibes that see the song change a little in direction, but in a way that is special and unique. Everyone is different and there relationships we have especially as what you think the song is about it isn't. The second verse continues Mama's Boy with the softer tone as it heads into the chorus gives this beautiful balance of honesty and sass. The final verse sees the song bought to a natural end as Mama's Boy heads into its chorus repeating ending the song with a much softer tone. Thank you, Tenille for this sassy song!
Over You Is You featuring Matt Stell starts with an emotional sounding instrumental which had me intrigued from the very start. The first verse sees Tenille opening the song with her soft tone allowing for a warm family feel to the lyrics to come across, whilst also hearing a little bit of heartache involved.
The chorus is rather upbeat allowing for Tenille and Matt Stell's vocals to blend wonderfully well together, whilst giving the song a lot of meaning. The songwriting is beautiful, and one that many people will be able to relate too. The second verse continues Over You Is You with Matt's vocals at the forefront which sees him bring a different take to the songs lyrics. Tenille and Matt's harmonies are beautifully planned bringing some wonderful moments. The final verse sees both Tenille and Matt showcase the songs most poignant lyrics in a way that will get the listeners thinking. I loved the electric guitar instrumental break up the timing was perfect! Over You Is You ending with the chorus brings the song full circle in a way that makes for beautiful listening. What a perfect duet, one I never knew I needed.
Give It To Me Straight starts with an upbeat instrumental with a lot of meaning right from the start. The first verse of Give It To Me Straight instantly showcases Tenille's soft yet soulful vocal range which allows the lyrics to shine through. The meaning of the song is quite clear from the songs outset as it allows the listeners to get a real feel for the song. The lyrics throughout Give It To Me Straight gives a real raw, and honest feel that had me thinking with the few lines before the chorus featuring some incredibly honest lyrics about being in a relationship when the doubts kick in, or even worse when you think the person you love has cheated on you, and you have that conversation with them. The chorus is a happy, and vibrant one giving another lease of life not allowing the overthinking to kick in. I caught myself dancing every time the chorus was played. The second verse continues Give It To Me Straight wonderfully as the storytelling leaves you with everything you would have going through your head in that situation which was very cleverly done in my opinion. The bridge sees Tenille's extremely softer vocals at the forefront allowing the songs lyrics another moment to shine, whilst also giving this honesty about it - Magical!! Give It To Me Straight ending with the chorus was the most perfectly fitting thing for the song as it ties the song together so beautifully.
High School Sweetheart has a guitar instrumental to open adding a different tone to this album. The first verse sees Tenille's crisp vocal that sees a different tone for the song as when you leave school and you plan for your future and your high school love break ups with you. The chorus is full of brilliant heartfelt lyrics with a lot of purity. The way that Tenille is wearing her heart of her sleeve throughout this song. The second verse continues High School Sweetheart with this perspective of looking into the future as you start to release that maybe it happened to show you a lesson of how strong you actually are and what a bad choice it was but with the hope that maybe you will end up together again one day.
The final verse delivered from Tenille in a much softer tone that had me emotional with even more goosebumps. There is something so special about Tenille's songwriting.
Sweet Sixteen has a soft piano instrumental giving the first verse this real pure delivery from sees Tenille's soft vocal thanks to the honest lyrics that sees Tenille's showing another side of who she is as an artist thanks to the different kind of perspective being given throughout this verse. The chorus has some wonderful lyrics about those Sweet Sixteen moments many listeners will have had growing up and the way that Tenille has written adding layers to the story where you aren't expecting them it's wonderful. The year that teaches as a lot! The second verse continues Sweet Sixteen with even more honesty that had me listening extremely carefully to the lyrics that goes fantastically into the chorus allowing for Tenille's crisp vocal to shine as it heads into the final chorus via the the bridge which Tenille showcases her soft vocal.
Growing Old Young starts with a an upbeat guitar instrumental giving off this real country feel to end this brilliant album. The first verse sees Tenille's soft vocal at the forefront allowing for her crisp vocal tone to shine through with the purity of thinking about what's ahead in life with the swipe it under the carpet moments. The chorus features some incredibly honest lyrics that I caught myself getting rather emotional over as the lyrics are ones I can relate with having currently gone through a moment like this in my own life. The song writing INCREDIBLE. The second verse continues Growing Old Young with those childhood memories and what you should have been doing linking beautifully into the chorus allowing for this beautiful message to come to the forefront. The instrumental is sweetly timed throughout. The final verse sees this incredibly emotion and honest lyrics hearing Tenille connecting with the lyrics allowing this vulnerability to be shown as the final chorus kicks in ending the song and album in a wonderfully beautiful way!
