SINGLE REVIEW - TENILLE TOWNES - GIRL WHO DIDN'T CARE
Today (Friday 25th June) will see Canadian singer-songwriter, Tenille Townes release her brand new single, Girl Who Didn't Care.
Girl Who Didn't Care has an electric guitar instrumental to start which I have to say is something that I actually enjoyed ahead of the first verse.
The first verse sees Tenille's crisp vocal starting the song off by talking to her young self, and that you will get where you are supposed to one day. The fact that Tenille says that 'I miss my imagination' is something a child is so good at innocently doing, and never giving a care in the world - this is something that shows within Tenille, and I am so grateful for her sharing this song.
The chorus of Girl Who Didn't Care features an uptempo careless kind of innocence which for me as a listener is just the perfect blend. The upbeat nature of the lyrics, about life in general are ones that many people will be so grateful to hear within a song. The fact that Tenille displays so much confidence you can hear how passionate, she is about this song and it's personal meaning to her making it even more special.
The second verse of Girl Who Didn't Care continues at a little softer pace with Tenille's softer vocal range being demonstrated allowing the song to take you on another journey leading to the chorus wonderfully allowing even more special moments. Tenille demonstrates many different vocal tones throughout.
The bridge of Girl Who Didn't Care is a sentimental moment that I have to admit, I got a little teary off as that line was so beautifully sung. Ending Girl Who Didn't Care with the chorus in a fun way is wonderfully allowing the song to end in the most natural way.
This is a song that I am very excited to hear live.
