EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - ROBRON GET BACK TOGETHER

I know I haven't written an episode Robron blog since the end of September 2017 (yes, I wanted to but never got round to posting) But I couldn't help but write one for the REUNION but not only that but because of Maxine Alderton's incredible writing and Duncan Foster's wonderful directing are featured on the Reunion Episode. With Emmerdale in the week up to the Reunion releasing quotes from the episode it's made me even more exciting and I know I shouldn't be as excited as I am but I really don't care! I want be quoting everything only if I feel it's necessary. Feel so strange that on Wednesday we were watching Alex move in with Aaron and Robert being devastated about Aaron moving in to now on Thursday (day, as I am writing) them reuniting! Ahead of the episode on Thursday, Digital Spy released a preview photo of Aaron and Robert in the garage and it was on my mind for most of the afternoon - How do they get there? Why are they there? The reunion ...

INTRODUCING TEMECULA ROAD

Image
A couple of years ago, a young band called Temecula Road which consists of three young people two sisters Maddie and Emma Salute with their friend Dawson Anderson. Dawson is the oldest of the trio, Emma is few months younger with Maddie being the youngest of the trio and the biggest Carrie Underwood fan. My photography from Daytime Hub 7/10/17 The band are named after a town in which they grew up in. Temecula Road are very much known for their wonderful harmonies and covers one of which earned them praise from Carrie Underwood (see what I did there Maddie!) and many more. Temecula Road's first two singles, What If I Kissed You and Hoping have had over 1 million streams and many more on YouTube. But I am personally so very glad that people have/ are discovering them for their incredible songs and song-writing which is earning them fans all of the world. 2017 was the year that Temecula Road made their way over t...

DEBUT PERFORMANCE REVIEW - THE ADELAIDES - THE BORDERLINE

Image
Having written this post back in October but haven't shared it yet so today I thought it would be the perfect time ahead of their performance at C2C 2018. On Saturday 7th October, The Adelaides performed for the first time as a Country Music Act at London's first Country Music Week's Daytime Hub at The Borderline, and what a set of performances it was from the girls. (Please note that the songs are not in order, it's just how I remembered them!) Jack Daniel's was my second favourite of theirs and it was beautiful super catchy that give me so many country feels. I love the fact that Paris, Alicia and Abi all started Jack Daniel's together was beautifully arranged. Jack Daniel's gave Alicia the perfect opportunity to be the first of the group to sing solo, it suited Alicia's tone very much. Abi was the next band member to get her chance to shine with a solo was fabulous and with her soft vocal range was lovely, this finally led to Paris havi...

C2C FESTIVAL PLANNING

I've been thinking about doing this and I was like why not? I am excited and I am sure many others will relate to this planning as we only have 22 days, yes 22 days until C2C 2018 kicks off or (21 if you are attending song-writers) The questions we are all asking ourselves; Will I squeeze in the acts I want to see? Will I have enough time to eat? Will I know who the surprise acts are? The answer to all of these will be YES if we all plan (like I did last year but it's harder this year - I will admit with another stage and venue/ stage changes!) Make sure you make a list of the artists you are determined to see! A must for me is a list of the artists, For me this is the most important and so far I will but I just hope the unveiled on the day acts aren't any of my favorites or that will set me back. How many stages are there and where are the stages based? There are 8 stages where you can see artists performing; Town Square is located just outside...

SINGLE REVIEW - LIV AUSTEN - DON’T REGRET A SINGLE ONE

Last Friday (2nd February), Liv Austen released her new single, Don’t Regret A Single One and here is our review (sorry it’s 6 days late!) Don't Regret A Single One starts with really rocky that quickly turning funky. With wonderful lyrics you can't help but love the instrumentals throughout the song. The chorus is rather catchy and you can't help but sing along from the start (or is that just me?). Liv's incredible vocal range is clearly demonstrated but with wonderful and meaningful lyrics - how can you not? Love that Liv mentions about taking chances in relationships and leaving if you are unhappy! The second verse is what seems to be about the sad part of the relationship with it seeming to be about the breakdown. Liv is lyrical very clear and knows exactly what to add it make you think and relate. Love it, Liv! The bridge is beautiful and Liv's higher vocal range is just beautiful perfectly suited to the song and choices the perfect time to show it ...

DEBUT EP REVIEW - MOLLY-ANNE

Molly Anne is a UK based singer and songwriter who this Friday (9th February) is releasing her debut EP, Glow which features 3 songs that Molly-Anne has written and sung. Glow was recorded/ produced by Andy Guy at Doghouse Studio. 'There is something about Molly that is so rare and unique.' Glow is a summery song and with the drum and guitar used these work hand in hand and set the tone for the song, cleverly thought about. Right from the start I caught myself dancing along whilst thinking of lovely summer memories. Glow takes you into a different world throughout and songs that can do this are just incredible! With a fabulous use of vocal range and magical lyrics you get a holiday vibe. Corona Del Mar has a good use of instruments to start that gives you an instant summery vibe and makes you wanna go and book a holiday. The backing track is soft and with Molly-Anne's vocals being soft this works so well. The lyrics are very thought about and you catch your...

My name is Molly-Anne, I’m 23 years old and an aspiring singer-songwriter from the South West of the UK. And when did you write and perform your first song? Where did you first perform any of yours songs and how old were you? I was 11 when I first picked up an electric guitar. My inspirations at the time were Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Jimmy Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, I wanted to rock! My ear has changed a little since then but I still love to pick up an electric wh...

SINGLE REVIEW - SOUTHERN HALO - ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Southern Halo are releasing their brand new single, Anything Is Possible out TODAY (Monday 29th January). Being a big fan of this super talented trio, I am very excited to share this review with you. Anything Is Possible has an intro I love because its simply beautiful and the beat soon kicks in with Natalia on guitar and Hannah on bass with Christina also on drums. Natalia's vocals start the song off which are amazing as always and with Hannah and Christina joining in half way through and for the chorus. The chorus is very catchy and I caught myself singing along with magical lyrics I am not surprised. You can create your own story from the lyrics. The song-writing from the girls is beautiful and it shows how passionate they are about the lyrics. The second is super catchy and all the girls have a chance to say their vocals with their harmonies which are perfect! Natalia, Hannah and Christina show off their fabulous vocal...

DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW - LANCO - HALLELUJAH NIGHTS

Lanco release their debut album Hallelujah Nights on Arista Nashville (Sony Music) on Friday 19th January. Hallelujah Nights is made up of 11 songs and below I give my review of Lanco's debut album Hallelujah Nights. Born to Love You strong vocals throughout with the lyrics being very thought about. Gives you a very Southern country vibe. Great use of the drums works with vocals and allows the vocalist to shine. Long Live Tonight sounded rocky to start but you soon realise it isn't. The lyrics are very detailed with a VERY catchy chorus that I caught myself singing along too! This song for me is perfect for a summer's day road trip. Pick You Up is a country pop/ rock sound which I love! There is something about their vocal that is magical and I think it's because you get a scent of them being very laid back. The second verse is catchy and I caught myself singing along. I absolutely love  Greatest Love Story very catchy and the instrum...

INTERVIEW WITH DANNY MCMAHON

Welcome to my first blog of 2018 which is an interview with the lovely and talented British singer-songwriter,  Danny McMahon . Hey Danny. Thank you for agreeing to this interview with us. This will be the first interview on 2018 and I look forward to sharing it with our readers. How old were you were you decided to start writing your own songs? And when did you write and perform your first song? I wrote my first song when I was 14 years old. I was dragged along to a studio session at school with a group of friends. I wasn’t planning on being involved, but I was asked to help write a melody line over a chord progression. I wrote the whole thing in about ten minutes and the guy who owned the studio suggested I have a look at doing song-writing. I then began saving and bought myself a keyboard. By the time I was 16 I’d already written about 25 songs. Again I was 14 when I performed my first song. How long (on average) does it take you to write a song? Writing a...

INTERVIEW WITH LIV AUSTEN

Image
This is one interview I am very thankful to have got the opportunity to have. Liv Austen  is a Norwegian born singer-songwriter and actress. Her music is something else and everyone should be checking her out after you've read this interview. Photo Credit: Lui River Could I ask you to introduce yourself to our readers? My name is Liv Austen, I am a singer and songwriter from East London - I moved to the UK from Norway 7 years ago and have been releasing my music here and performing for the last 3 years! Your new single 'The Next Time' could you tell us what it's about? The Next Time is essentially about breaking up with a friend, or removing yourself from a person who doesn't treat you well, a situation that's bad for you. When someone has used up their second chances with you, it can be liberating to tell them that they've run out of "next times". That's what the message of the song is!    The lyrics and melody are amazing....

CHRISTMAS ALBUM REVIEW - JESS AND THE BANDITS - ALWAYS CHRISTMAS EVE

Welcome back to my review on Jess and The Bandits new Christmas album, Always Christmas Eve out on December 1st in the UK. The Christmas EP will feature 4 singles each with a special guest from the UK Country Music Scene and here I will be giving my review on them. Baby, It's Cold Outside - duet with Kevin McGuire I won't lie but this was one song I was worried about being covered because it is such a great song but both Jess and Kevin have had a great job. I love the instrumentals within the whole song and gives it a super Christmassy feel. Jess' vocals starts Baby, It's Cold Outside few seconds after Kevin vocals join and their voices work wonderful together. Jess' stunning tone throughout Baby, It's Cold Outside highlights what a stunning female singer Jess is with her voice. Also, I have to say that Kevin's voice throughout highlights what a great male singer he is and with his gorgeous higher tone it is so raw, I love it. Baby' It's Cold ...

L-R Hannah, Christina and Natalia Photo Credit: Chuck Arlund So, could I ask you to introduce yourselves? I'm Christina Morris (aka Tinka) and I play the drums and sing vocals in Southern Halo. I'm also the crazy middle sister. I'm Hannah Morris, the youngest sister, bass player and vocalist in Southern Halo. You were recently in the UK, what was it like to be back? PERFORMANCE REVIEW - TEMECULA ROAD - DAYTIME HUB

Image
As many of you are aware, I am a MASSIVE supporter of the talented trio Temecula Road who are a California-bred, Tennessee-based country music trio ,  and when they were at The Borderline I thought I had to go and knowing I was surprising them was even better because their faces said it all! From the moment Temecula Road made up of sisters Maddie and Emma Salute and friend, Dawson Anderson entered the stage at The Borderline, the crowd was the biggest it had been for the whole afternoon which was incredible for me to see. Felt so proud of them (words can't explain!) Also, when Dawson plays his guitar throughout the set but when Emma occasionally plays the mandolin it's such a special moment, you can see how passionate they are about the melodies and the keys they use. Wonderful job! Temecula Road opened their wonderful set with That's A Kiss what a way to kick start their set off. The audience were gripped right from the start and everyone seemed to be swa...

EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - EMMERDALE ARE STARTING TO DEAL WITH AARON'S MENTAL HEALTH

Welcome to another blog but one I am so very happy to be writing the one where Emmerdale FINALLY mentioned Aaron's going to be going to a counselling session and one that we see on screen. Monday's episode was written by the wonderful Cameron McAllister he's writing is just great one of my favourite writers alongside Maxine Alderton of course. Directed by Paul Copeland. First scene of the evening featuring Robert and Aaron was of them talking about going for a picnic in which was not very popular with an unconvinced Aaron but with him wanting to spend time with Robert he quickly agreed. For me the best part of the scene was Robert mentioning that Aaron is finally going to be going to counselling tomorrow. In the shop, Tracy is serving Robert and Aaron when they are buying things for their picnic. The best scene of the episode we can all agree was when they started their picnic, HOW CUTE?? This is cute (shouting at my TV like I bet some you lot reading these were...

GIG REVIEW: TEMECULA ROAD DEBUT UK PERFORMANCE AT C2C

Hey everyone... I thought as I enjoyed Temecula Road so much and as a big supporter of them why not write a blog on the experience of seeing them live as they debut in the UK!! Temecula Road are a band made up of two sisters Emma and Maddie Salute and friend Dawson Anderson. Temecula Road have recently signed to Disney Music Group’s Buena Vista Records they definitely have a big feature ahead of them if yesterday was anything to go by. So walking into building six yesterday, I was so nervous but also very excited as I've waited a long time for them to come over to the UK and play a show, let alone them playing Country 2 Country Festival. And my god it was worth the wait, INCREDIBLE. Before the performance had started their mum's came over to say 'hey' which meant a lot to me and that had me even more excited if that was possible. Then it was the moment I had waited for the moment TEMECULA ROAD took to the stage... Their set list for the show was amazing and...

ROBRON REVIEW OF THE EMMERDALE PRISON EPISODE AND THE FOLLOWING DAY...

Welcome back to another blog involving our favourite pair, Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle along with Liv Flaherty and Paddy Kirk. So the start of the week saw 'A Special Prison In The Life Of Aaron' on Monday written beautifully by Paul Roundell and directed by Sean Healy as was Tuesday's episode. Tuesday's episode was written by Bill Lyons. Great acting this week for Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley as always but how stunning was Isobel Steele? She is just smashing her scenes at the moment what a talent she is to the show. And you can't forget about Dominic Brunt. I have mentioned how fabulously brilliant Michael Warrender and Samuel Cook have been as Ethan and Jason in Monday's episode my god Emmerdale have cast these roles fantastically! Samuel is just one of those actors that can play a baddy so well, great work! Does anyone else want the characters to stay on Emmerdale? Because I do with Samuel as he has been wonderful as bad boy Jason there is more to...
