NEXT WEEK ON EMMERDALE: CHARITY FACES A DRAMATIC WEEK AS SHE FACES LIFE AND DEATH IN THE FACE

During next week's visit to Emmerdale viewers will see Charity Dingle face a difficult week as she goes into labour, and faces a dramatic birth.

With Charity Dingle having gone overboard with her granddaughter, Sarah Sugden's baby shower, but when the woman making the cake can't deliver it, so Mackenzie Boyd and Charity head off to pick it up.

The drama quickly begins after a quick toilet stop, Mack's car won't start and with Charity and Mack stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken down car, no phones, in true soap style Charity's waters break. As Charity spots an approaching car - it's Ross Barton who reluctantly gives them a lift to the hospital.

As Sarah makes her big entrance at the baby shower and wonders what could have kept her husband, Jacob and Charity, but when Sarah finds her phone and sees all the missed calls she panics - with Chas Dingle also seeing the same number of missed calls on her phone and knows something is seriously wrong.

In the hospital the lift with Charity, Mack and Ross inside, decides to break down adding to the panic especially as Charity's panic mounts as her pain, contractions and desperation are all mounting. 

Sarah's soon later confused when she arrives at the hospital and there is no record of Charity on the system. With the confined space of the lift triggers Mack's trauma from the bunker, whilst Ross tries to call for help over the intercom.

While, in his HR meeting, Jacob's anxiety levels are sky high as he relays how Dr Todd's bullying made him feel, unaware of Charity's childbirth drama is simultaneously unfolding in the same building. When a midwife on the labour ward gets an emergency call about a woman about to give birth in a lift, Sarah fears the worst.

Over the intercom the midwife enlists Ross and Mack to help deliver the baby in the lift. As after Jacob's meeting he's horrified to see all the missed calls, but when Dr Todd tries to corner him and ask why he's met with HR, Jacob finally stands up to her in person.

Meanwhile, Ross successfully delivers the baby but then notices a growing pool of blood on the lift floor. Charity's life hangs in the balance… What does this mean for Charity?

Emmerdale airs Monday - Friday at 8pm on ITV1, and YouTube, and ITVX from 7am.
