CORONATION STREET PAY TRIBUTE TO HELEN WORTH AFTER 50 YEARS AS GAIL PLATT
With Helen Worth's time on Coronation Street coming to an end as the fantastic Gail McIntyre who let's be honest call Gail Platt who Helen has played for the past 50 years having arrived in Weatherfield on 29th July, 1974.
Coronation Street have put together a poignant video trip down memory lane for loyal Coronation Street fans.
The montage was specially created for Helen’s leaving party last month and there wasn't a dry eye in the Bistro as Helen, cast and crew enjoyed the many highlights of her 50 years in the cobble based show.
Now viewers will have the chance to watch the beautifully curated 8 minute video and relive some of the classic moments that have made Gail one of the most iconic characters in the show’s history.

From her arrival in Weatherfield in 1974, her many weddings, troublesome children and grandchildren, almost being murdered by Richard Hillman, fighting in the Street with arch nemesis Eileen Grimshaw, her complex relationship with mum Audrey Roberts and her famous monologue after Aidan Connor's suicide, Helen has been involved in some of the most memorable storylines of Coronation Street's 64 years.
One of my favourite moments of Gail Platt over recent years was her dialogue following Aidan Connor's suicide with her looking out of the Platt family home onto the street as life continues for the residents in a rather powerful moment.
The video can be seen on Coronation Street's official YouTube.
Helen's final episode airs on Christmas Day (25th December) at 7pm (hour episode) on ITV and on ITVX.
