EP REVIEW - TENILLE TOWNES - TRAIN TRACK WORKTAPES

Today (Friday 21st April) will see Canadian singer-songwriter, Tenille Townes release her brand new EP, Train Track Worktapes.
Train Track Worktapes is made up of 5 songs.

Home To Me starts with an upbeat drum instrumental that sets up this EP from Tenille beautifully. The first verse sees some catchy and honest lyrics from Tenille that I caught myself listening to extremely carefully to due to the lyrics being so pure. The chorus is one of reflection that through Tenille's soft tone that was incredible. As Home To Me continues with the song naturally as this is my new favourite Tenille Townes song. I have nothing but praise for the honesty especially with the softer vocals.

Pieces of My Heart begins with a soft guitar instrumental supporting Tenille's crisp tone brilliantly throughout. The lyrics throughout Pieces of My Heart gets you thinking of my own life and I have a feeling it will with many other listeners as they hear the lyrics. It makes you realise and appreciate that everyone's journey is different, precious and unique. The chorus is stunning filled with a lot of purity thanks to the raw emotional lyrics that are very Tenille. I love a story that develops on its own naturally throughout due to the travelling vibes making it even more special knowing that Tenille wrote this EP whilst travelling on a train. What I learnt through listening was don't be afraid to visit new places and explore your favourite places.

Landslide who doesn't love a Fleetwood Mac cover? I love when artists cover this song, whilst making it their own and that is exactly what Tenille has done throughout her version thanks to her soft and crisp vocal. The vulnerability that Tenille showed thanks to her own take on the lyrics.
Tenille's tone is incredible as you can see how much the song means to her as it's allows for a new take on the song to be shared with some new listeners no doubt!
Tenille all I can say is WOW after hearing your version, I can't wait to hear it live!

Coming Together has a guitar instrumental which is brilliant and supports Tenille's crisp tone beautifully. There is something about Tenille's storytelling ability that is super special and allows for such vulnerability to be shown making great a song being written. The chorus is a super catchy one that develops as the song grows. Coming Together is one powerful song that gets you to appreciate the little things we have in our lives, and that they are the things that mean the most! The bridge is softer allowing for a brilliant standout moment with an emotional take before the chorus comes in for the final time.

Wheels like the song before has a soft guitar instrumental complimented by Tenille's crispy vocal allowing for Tenille's vulnerability to shine throughout. The lyrics within the first verse and for emotional listening. The chorus is rather emotional as I caught myself realising that I need to slow down and that's ok to do - it's amazing how hearing a song like this can change our perspective. The second verse is from a personal perspective that gave me goosebumps as the chorus hits. Tenille's gorgeous vocals hit once again a little differently in the bridge ahead of the final chorus showcasing magically vocal tones from Tenille.
