GIG REVIEW - KELSEA BALLERINI HEARTFIRST TOUR AT LONDON'S O2 SHEPHERD'S BUSH EMPIRE

Image
On Saturday 25th February, I attended Kelsea Ballerini HeartFirst Tour at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and what an incredible evening it was and what a way to kick start my 30th birthday celebrations even if it was 7 months early! The evening was started by Georgia Webster  who is an amazing artist who showcased her gorgeous tone. I Hate Phone Calls was performed and my god, I knew I loved that song but hearing it live was something else as the story within the lyrics brilliantly relatable. Not Sayin' was another song that was beautifully sung showing off her fantastic vocal tones. However, the moment Georgia sung X's my god I was instantly happy as this song over the past few weeks has been on repeat. Tattoos was a song that I absolutely loved especially due to its catchiness, but Fallin' For My Ex's Best Friend was the song that had me singing along loudly one that many audience members loved. Taken by myself on Saturday 25th February at Shepherd Bush Em...

WHY BRINGING HOLLYOAKS PERI AND JULIET BACK TOGETHER IS BRILLIANT

Over the past few weeks, Hollyoaks have bought back together Peri Lomax and Juliet Nightingale which I have to is a brilliant move as it made a lot of us viewers very happy. Hollyoaks viewers have always wanted for Peri and Juliet to get back together especially as Juliet is currently going through chemotherapy. I know I've said this before but how brilliant soaps doing these storylines are as they reach so many people and encourage viewers to spread the word about what they have watched, or if that have any of those symptoms they know how to go about getting checked - you only have to look at how well their Hollyoaks IRL series has been over the past few weeks. Last week saw Juliet finally admit how she felt about Peri during a speech at The Dog In The Pond in front of an audience leading to Peri always admitting that she loves her too and they shared a kiss in front of many happy people.  You only have to look at the social media last week after this moment to see how happy ...

SINGLE REVIEW - KYLIE MORGAN - DON'T STAY GONE TOO LONG

Today (Friday 17th February) will see US newcomer singer-songwriter, Kylie Morgan release her brand new single, Don't Stay Gone Too Long. Don't Stay Gone Too Long written by Kylie, Jason Massey and Nelly Joy. Don't Stay Gone Too Long is a beautiful ballad about the phrases of life that also showcases Kylie's beautiful voice with such a poignant take making me super emotional many times. The verses are brilliantly written and linked together allowing for this heartfelt story to be shared with the first verse being the one about leaving and packing our things up, but how our mum's are always the emotional ones. The chorus is incredibly poignant with these incredibly touching moments that bought tears to my eyes - they remind me so much of my childhood. The second verse about love is beautiful and special it doesn't matter how long it takes or where you are as long as you are happy - its ok if plans don't work out, and it's ok if it does. However it was t...

DEBUT SINGLE REVIEW - PARIS ADAMS - GOLD

Image
This Friday (17th February) will see Paris Adams  formerly of The Adelaides releases her debut solo single, Gold. Photo Credit: PR Gold  starts with a beautiful instrumental that gives me Dolly Parton vibes which compliments Paris' crisp vocal throughout the song with the first verse showcasing what a fantastic singer-songwriter she is! The lyrics are gorgeous especially within the chorus allowing for this wonderful country pop feel that I have a feeling many people who listen will really like and appreciate, however the more I hear the song the more I love the lyrics such an upbeat dancer feel that I adore. There is so much empowerment within the songs chorus lyrics making for this beautiful moment. The second verse of Gold continues with even more honesty and the boldness within the lyrics allow for the song to take on a different meaning but remind true to Paris' style that we know and love. The bridge is my favourite part as it blends the song wonderfully together in the m...

Image
On Friday 3rd February, The Heels  are a Canadian country trio made up of Bobbi Smith, Kyla Rawlins and Brittni Dominelli who are releasing their brand new single, Work of Heart that I have to say is incredible thanks to their incredible harmonies and vocal tones. Photo Credit: Karolina Turek What a pleasure it is to speak with you, Bobbi about The Heels today, how are you? I am well, thank you. Thank you for featuring The Heels and our new single. It means so much to myself, Kyla & Brittni. With you being new artists to our site and readers, would you be able to introduce yourselves? With a shared love of country music, we met in a North Vancouver café called Buddha-Full (co-owned by Kyla) where Brittni worked behind the counter and I was a regular customer. I went there every lunch break! Kyla & Brittni had been working together at the cafe and singing together for about a year when they found themselves looking for a third member to make a harmony trio. I call it fate be...

Image
With C2C 2023 only being a month away, I thought I would share with you the artists I am very excited to see on the pop up stages as these girls for me this year are fantastic. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love the pop up stages as it allows you to discover so many incredible artists for the very first time as well as see some of your favourite artists. Photo Credit: Ryan Lavender The one group I will definitely be catching are First Time Flyers  what a brilliant bunch of humans are in this band being a fan of them all as individuals, I am very excited to hear their songs live especially if their debut single, Happier is anything to go by. There is something so special and raw about their friendship as well as their bond together. Catie Offerman  is an artist I discovered thanks to YouTube and her song 'Til I See You Again which was one of those songs that I thought was extremely catchy and had me singing along from the very first chorus. Catie's songwriting is brill...

SINGLE REVIEW - ROBYN OTTOLINI - 5 YEARS

Image
Today (Friday 6th February) will see Canadian country singer-songwriter,  Robyn Ottolini  release her brand new single, 5 Years. Photo taken by me during Song Suffragettes in London, October 2022 5 Years  starts with a soft instrumental with a clock ticking that takes us into the first verse allowing for Robyn's crisp vocal to come through within the lyrics that are beautiful. The honesty within the lyrics are beautiful and ones that I caught myself listening to very carefully especially as the second verse comes in which are eye opening. The chorus features many lyrics that hit me instantly making me emotional as it got me thinking about my life and where I want to be and where I am now after the past 5 years. Life is one hell of a journey and you can never tell what's coming next. I adore the story crafted within the lyrics is a credit to Robyn! The final verse is fantastically crafted bringing the song together wonderfully as you can see another side of her vulnerabili...

SINGLE REVIEW - REYA JAYNE - BET SHE DOESN'T KNOW

Image
Tomorrow (Friday 3rd February) will see British singer-songwriter,  Reya Jayne  release her latest single, Bet She Doesn't Know. Bet She Doesn't Know is Reya's first release of 2023. Bet She Doesn't Know  comes straight with a story that instantly followed you to allow and one many people will be able to relate with as you can paint your own picture of who: what the lyrics are about thanks to Reya's crisp vocal. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics about the person who is obviously doing something they shouldn't haven't been totally honest and what happening with the perspective being that the other person involved doesn't know. The second verse continues with the signs that you could/ did miss and you the sense of blame of not realising in what I got from the songs lyrics when songs to this it's brilliant as it's the side that people often forgot to share until they are caught out. The final verse captivates Reya's softer vocal at t...
