WHY TONIGHT'S EASTENDERS WAS BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN

Tonight's EastEnders episode saw Ben Mitchell and Callum 'Halfway' Highway propose to one another in two very poignant places for the couple.

We all know Ben and Callum's relationship has been full of drama - good and bad, but this week's episodes saw Ben wanting to apologise to his loved one for the way he 'proposed' because of Callum being unable to collect his daughter, Lexi from school.

Tuesday's episode (26th January) saw Ben decide that he was going to propose thanks to his daughters words.

However in tonight's episode (28th January), Ben decided that tonight was the night that he was going to propose to Callum with Lexi, Lola, Billy, Honey, and Jay Mitchell alongside Callum's brother, Stuart Highway and his partner, Rainie was were watching in the Albert.

Ben was in a frenzy as the big moment came when he received a call from Callum wanting to talk to him in the square where Callum then proposed outside of The Queen which is a poignant place for the pair, leaving Ben rather upset that he bet him to a proposal. However, it wasn't long before Ben got his opportunity on the balcony of The Albert with some heartfelt words that I have to admit got me emotional.

The fact that the episode allowed both of Ben and Callum to propose was amazing because it allowed the fans to get the moment they wanted!

The attention to detail were so beautifully done representing their journeys beautifully too! The script was beautifully written by Lorraine Newman, and directed by Sarah Esdaile.

Massive shout out to Max Bowden and Tony Clay for knowing their characters well, and delivering a wonderfully magical episode.
