EP REVIEW - MADDIE AND TAE - ONE HEART TO ANOTHER

Today (Friday 26th April), US singer-songwriter duo, Maddie and Tae release their new EP One Heart To Another which is made up of 5 songs and 4 of which have been written by the girls, Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye.
Maddie and Tae latest EP is definitely one of love, loss and redemption which you can definitely hear within the collection of songs they have shared.

Friends Don't starts a wonderful instrumental even though it does also set the tone for an emotional song. Maddie is the first vocal you hear with rather heartfelt lyrics followed by Tae for the harmonies and in the chorus which takes the song to another level of meaning which I personally love. The second verse is where you can really hear the emotion. Friends Don't demonstrates to us listeners how much they have grown professionally over the year and I am grateful for the honesty. Friends Don't to me is one song that's in between friendship and love and whether it's worth the risk. Friends Don't is also one exteremly unique song.

Die From A Broken Heart starts with beautiful and soft instrumental which stays throughout giving the song such a different feel from what we would except giving us an insight into the different sides of Maddie and Tae as artists and how much they have grown throughout the years!
The chorus features some rather heartfelt, very meaningful lyrics which I instantly connected with and it blew me away! I also loved how catchy the chorus is. The three verses are very heartfelt and show us a wonderful vulnerability which is just incredible to see. These ladies definitely have a wonderful future ahead of them. The first verse opens Die From A Broken Heart off wonderful and I love how honest Maddie and Tae are straight off.

Tourist in the Town starts with beautiful guitar instrumental which is slowly joined by Maddie and Tae's beautiful vocals. The first verse starts the song beautifully showcasing their wonderful lyrical ability while also setting the scene for Tourist in the Town about always having tourists in your town and you got to hear how others feel when others go and visit someone else's town. Tourist in the Town is one song I can't help but feel inspired by with wanting to go and visit a new country. Tourist in the Town allows you the opportunity to think about that one trip which you got lost and you did exactly what they sung about (or is this just me?) The instrumental in the middle of the song separated the final verse and chorus fabulously giving it a little more life and a chance to reflect on that one trip I am sure we have all experienced?! All three verses of Tourist in the Town allow Maddie and Tae's to show case their vocal range amazingly and the lyrics of their song are just incredible as well as being inspiring however you can feel a little heartache within the song. Tourist in the Town is one song I have a feeling I will be playing a lot as Summer is approaching.

One Heart To Another has a guitar instrumental to start which allows Maddie's vocals as she opens the song to shine through and you can hear how much Maddie is relating to the lyrics within the first verse but it's not long before Tae comes in with her vocal. The chorus got me a little emotional the more I was listening to the lyrics. Maddie and Tae have definitely thought about the lyrics within One Heart To Another and it definitely shows. The second verse continues the storytelling beautifully. The instrumental in the middle of One Heart To Another is just incredible as it breaks the song up wonderfully and once the girls continue their softer vocal range is definitely shown making this song super magical. One Heart To Another is my favourite song from this EP.

New Dogs, Old Tricks has a funky guitar instrumental which starts New Dogs, Old Tricks of in such a wonderfully beautiful way. I love how Maddie and Tae are singing the lyrics within the first verse in what is very different to their normal style but I happen to love it as it grows their growth as artists. Also, you find yourself listening more to the lyrics within all the three verses more. The chorus New Dogs, Old Tricks is super catchy and the lyrics are super honest.
New Dogs, Old Tricks is the perfect song for Maddie and Tae to end their new EP with.
