SINGLE REVIEW - PRESLEY TENNANT - SOMEBODY LIKE YOU

Today (Friday 19th April) will see singer-songwriter, Presley Tennant release her latest single, Somebody Like You which is Presley's first release since 2022.

Somebody Like You begins with an upbeat instrumental setting the tone for the song wonderfully. With Presley's crisp tone it's great how the lyrics right from the start allow you to have your own take on the song thinking back to that relationship or even a friendship that you thought would last and didn't.
The chorus is beautifully written and listeners can hear a little vulnerability from Presley allowing for some standout moments.
The second verse sees Somebody Like You take a different turn which is wonderful to hear as you see another side of who Presley is as an artist allowing for some fantastic tones to be shown.
Presley definitely wears her heart on her sleeve throughout Somebody Like You.
My favourite moment of the song comes in the bridge/ soft chorus as everything about it is perfectly chosen and timed allowing for listeners to really feel the songs message.

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. The first verses sees Eleri's soft vocal at the forefront with lyrics that get you thinking of those moments at a gig that you don't think you'll ever get to see takes me back to experiencing Priscilla Block with Eleri last year, oh the memories. The second verse sees the song take another turn of when you feel like things aren't working out but you are determined to learn from the lesson it's given you. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics that I could myself singing along with despite not knowing the lyrics 100% typical Kellie. EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said.
