EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - LIV WAS RELEASED AS CHARITY SUPPORTED HER SON, RYAN THROUGH HIS GRIEF

During this week’s episodes viewers saw that Charity Dingle got through a mixture of emotions with both her son, Ryan Stocks and her man, Mackenzie Boyd as Liv Flaherty was also released from prison and reunited with Vinny Dingle seeing them get back together. The week started with Chas Dingle all emotional as the auction sign went up on The Woolpack, whilst at Butlers’ Cain Dingle was seen to be mopping about after he let his sister down but Moira Barton’s words to Cain were needed – we all know Cain only wanted to protect his sister. Chas later visited her daughter, Grace’s garden where she got upset. It’s an emotional week for Ryan Stocks  as he was seen ignoring calls which saw him later receive the news that his adoptive mother, Irene has died the look on his face said a lot making me emotional. Ryan opened up to Mackenzie about Irene’s death which led to Mackenzie opening up too. As Ryan looked at photos of him and Irene on his phone as he and Mackenzie spoke -  I l...

SINGLE REVIEW - HARLEYMOON KEMP - HE AIN'T YOU

Today (Friday 28th January) will see British singer-songwriter,  Harleymoon Kemp  as she release her brand new single, He Ain't You which is a bluesy anti-valentines anthem. He Ain't You  starts with bluesy old school country feel which I absolutely adore thanks to the guitar instrumental alongside it. The first verse sees Harleymoon's crisp vocal tone at the forefront allowing for the lyrics to shine with the wonderful message that allows for this valentines feel with a rather romantic feel that paints this wonderful loving feeling, which you can hear is based on a personal experience or of an experience she has seen inspiring this song. The chorus features lyrics that you can hear personal connection with the lyrics from Harleymoon that allow for many heart on your sleeve moments that gets you thinking. The way that the chorus blends into every single part of the song goes to show what a wonderful artist, Harleymoon is. I really appreciate the lyrics the more I hear the...

The Shires are the UK’s biggest country music export. Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle's achievements speak for themselves: three consecutive UK Top 3albums, four #1 UK Country albums, 100 million+ streams, two Gold-certified records, and countless sold-out headline shows, including filling the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Now The Shires announce the release of their soul-stirring new album ‘10 Year Plan’ out on Friday 11th March, 2022 and launch it by sharing its lead single ‘ I See Stars ’. Premiered on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show on Radio 2 this morning, ‘I See Stars’ is symbolic of The Shires’ pop-orientated, crowd-pleasing, full-passion, global-facing take on the country tradition. The duo’s Ben Earle wrote the song with Jeff Cohen (Jake Bugg, Mandy Moore, Sugarland), who previously collaborated on their fan favourites ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’ and ‘A Thousand Hallelujahs’. Ben says:  “ We love the Coldplay/‘Greatest Showman’ vibes on this! it’s not trying to be clever, it’s just rea...

SINGLE REVIEW - THE SHIRES - I SEE STARS

Today (Friday 26th January) will see British country duo,  The Shires  made up of singer-songwriters, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes release their brand new single, I See Stars. I reviewed I See Stars as it was played on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning (26th January) I See Stars  starts with this wonderful soft instrumental opening thanks to the first verse instantly starting off the track.  The first verse sees Ben's soft vocal tone opening I See Stars with this wonderful storytelling right from the start that I caught myself really enjoying right from the off. The chorus features a wonderful pop-country feel with many thanks to the beautiful meaning of the lyrics that will I hope get the listeners thinking. Crissie and Ben's harmonies are stunning throughout growing how much they grow with every single song they release. The second verse of I See Stars saw Crissie taking the lead vocals on this part allowing for us listeners to hear another side of the ...

GIG REVIEW - THE SHIRES - THE ACOUSTIC TOUR AT THE THE STABLES IN MILTON KEYNES

There is something so special and unique about a The Shires  at their hometown show at The Stables in Milton Keynes last night (24th January - my first gig after 2 years!)... A show I have been able to experience EVERY SINGLE time they have performed here - there is something so special about this show every time it's like it's my first time seeing them despite starting the journey with them in 2013 before they were big in this country music industry. You have to love a gig where no photos can be taken makes it even more special for everyone going. *I won't share the full set list as I know many of you are going later this week* The evening started with Kezia Gill, a fellow British singer-songwriter who I have been a fan of for the past few years. Kezia performed a few of her original songs including Local Man's Star about her father which had me feeling emotional, along with a song about your thirties which I have to say I loved as well as Wings which is a song that in...

SINGLE REVIEW - HALEY & MICHAELS - LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Last Friday (14th January) saw US Duo singer-songwriters,  Haley and Michaels  made up of husband and wife, Shannon Haley and Ryan Michaels release their brand new single, Light At The End of The Tunnel. Light At The End of The Tunnel  sees Shannon and Ryan's harmonies showcased right from the very start which I instantly fell in love with thanks to the warm sentimental feel. Shannon and Ryan's vocals really compliment each other incredibly. The first verse saw them both continuing with their wonderful harmonies and throughout all of Light At The End of The Tunnel giving us these wonderful poignant lyrics that allow us listeners to go on a rather personal journey which is rather inspiring to hear. The chorus features wonderfully heartfelt lyrics that is advice I wish I was able to follow and take on board at the moment but it's definitely got me thinking when songs are able to do this, they are the ones I really appreciate and will have on repeat for months. The gorgeousl...

EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - LIV SUFFERS AN INJURY AS CAIN IS DISOWNED BY CHAS

This week’s episodes of Emmerdale have seen Liv Flaherty suffer another setback, but with Liv now believing in herself could things be about to change? The week started with Liv’s on/off boyfriend Vinny Dingle arrive back from the hospital following his stay after being caught up in Meena Julta’s recent plans. Vinny was determined to see Liv Flaherty. However, tensions arise as Vinny learns that Chas Dingle told Liv about Meena’s confession. As Vinny goes to see Liv in prison, he reveals to the truth about the confession and that they need more evidence than hearsay. I get that Liv is worried and wants to get out of prison, but taking it out on Vinny isn't going to get you anywhere, you should be supporting one another. Back in her cell, Liv cries where her cellmate, Mel checked in on her where she becomes upset asking for a drink as she broke down. The harsh truths during this scene with the camera angles were a fantastic mix. The final scene was an emotional one with Liv on the f...

SINGLE REVIEW - ABBY ANDERSON - BE THAT GIRL

Today (Friday 21st January) will see US singer-songwriter,  Abby Anderson  who is releasing her brand new single, Be That Girl. Be That Girl  has a quirky, sassy upbeat instrumental which sets the tone of the song beautifully up. The first verse sees this warm, heartfelt vocal tone from Abby that allows for us listeners to hear another side of who Abby is as an artist. The relationship feels of will they? won't will? bring the song to this emotional part. The songwriting is beautifully shined throughout the song thanks to it's catchy lyrics. The chorus features some of the most wonderful and honest lyrics that allows for us listeners to have our own interruption of the lyrics and meaning, whilst also being able to hear Abby's experience. The more I heard the chorus the most I loved and caught myself singing along with the lyrics. The second verse of Be That Girl sees this wonderful story developing about what happens next and they decision is up to you, and only you. Abby...

Today (Friday 14th January) will see Canadian singer-songwriter,  Tenille Townes  release her brand new single, When's It Gonna Happen. When's It Gonna Happen  has an upbeat guitar instrumental setting the tone of the song up wonderfully. The first verse sees Tenille's crisp vocal range at the forefront allowing for her incredible songwriting to be shown a lot of honesty being displayed. There is something so magical about the way that Tenille sings her songs that leaves us listeners always wanting more. The chorus of When's It Gonna Happen features some beautiful lyrics that are heartfelt and based on an experience that Tenille has been through. I am very excited about hearing this song live as soon as we can as there is so something so magical. The second verse of When's It Gonna Happen continues with even more honesty being shared that many listeners will be able to relatable with whether it's now, in the past or in their future - this is what is special and ...

WHY HOLLYOAKS STUNT THIS WEEK WAS AMAZING VIEWING

Everyone that knows me knows how much I love a soap stunt, and Hollyoaks over this week's evenings has given me one of my favourite Hollyoaks memories. This week’s episodes were written by Richard Burke, James Coleman, Jayshree Patel, Alanna Hallum, and Karissa Hamilton-Bannis with it being directed by Miguel Guerreiro Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday whilst Thursday and Friday was directed by Dalkin Marsh. The week's episodes started with the flames during a flash forward moment as Romeo Nightingale puts up the Dee Valley Fundraising sign. Monday's episode:  Marnie Nightingale was seen asking Juliet Nightingale to sell raffle tickets for the fundraising event as Juliet asks her about rings. As the episode continued, Juliet went to her ask James Nightingale for a ring as she tells of her plans to propose to her girlfriend, Peri Lomax.  It was clear all Juliet wanted was her half-brother's support.  Juliet later decided to play James at his own game as she waits for him in...

SINGLE REVIEW - MAREN MORRIS - CIRCLES AROUND THIS TOWN

Today (Friday 7th January) will see US singer-songwriter, Maren Morris  release her brand new single, Circles Around This Town. Circles Around This Town  has an upbeat instrumental with many different instruments which allows for this wonderful set up. The first verse sees Maren's crisp vocal tone open Circles Around This Town with the lyrics that you can hear have been based on experience making the song even more special. You can also hear so much vulnerability with the lyrics that allows for this incredible layer to be added to the song. The chorus features many lyrics that get you thinking and singing along. I already admired Maren's journey but this chorus has me admiring her musical journey even more especially as the lyrics are so relatable wearing her heart on her sleeve. The second verses continues Circles Around This Town with the truth about how much times she felt like leaving, but stuck it out leaving me feeling very emotional as I can relate to this with what I a...
