WHY TODAY'S NEIGHBOURS EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC

*Spoiler blog for anyone in Australia as this episode hasn't aired for you yet due to the UK Pace of the show*

Over the past few months have started to tune in to Neighbours once again (and I have always watched on and off because anyone asks!) but today's episode (20th May) with Mackenzie Hargreaves and Hendrix Grayson deserving a special blog post.

From the very first scene, I had high hopes and as the episode started - I saw that I was right too especially with the location change from Ramsay Street to Sydney as Hendrix made the trip to tell his family the sad news. The camera shots and angels were beautifully captured throughout making it one of the best episodes, I have ever seen!

I loved how the writers took us down Hendrix's past allowing for a little more understanding of the character and meeting his family was lovely. The scene with Hendrix and his mother led to some heartfelt moments between him and Mackenzie, Mackenzie's wise words were the ones that hit me the hardest.

As Hendrix and Mackenzie head back inside they were greeted by his sister, father, and mother which saw him open up and reveal the truth following their discovery. Hendrix breaking down was emotional along with the way that we got to see different perspectives of how his family took the news were delivered in a way that saw the families different emotions highlighted - I am crying writing this!

One of the sweetest moments of the episode came as Henderix propose to Mackenzie in an incredibly sweet scene on the beach at the end of the episode. It was Hendrix's words to Mackenzie during this moment that saw me get extremely emotional.

The mixture of happiness, laughter, and emotion were brilliantly written, and thought through allowing us audiences members in.

The amount of research and attention to detail on this sensitive storyline following Hendrix's recent diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis following the recent fire that was caused in the school.

There is something so special about the way that Georgie Stone and Ben Turland work and this was highlighted beautifully throughout the episode.

I have to give a massive applause for the writer of today's episode, Jason Herbison.

This episode of Neighbours aired today (Friday 20th May at 1.45pm) on Channel 5. You can watch the episode now on My5 if you live in the UK.

COMING UP ON EMMERDALE: AMELIA CHRISTENS ESTHER AS CHARITY AND AMY BRING THE DRAMA

EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said.
