EMMERDALE EPISODE REVIEW - DIANE LEAVES EMMERDALE AS GABBY'S LIFE CHANGES

This week episodes of Emmerdale have been ones I have been dreading as I love Diane Sugden and when I heard the news that Elizabeth Estensen was leaving, I was rather sad but after 22 years in the Yorkshire Dales I was her all the very best for her retirement. I wanted to share my thoughts on her final week in the village and all the one where Diane's granddaughter, Gabby Thomas' life changes. This week's episodes have been directed by Dave Beauchamp on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with Tim Finn directing Thursday and Friday's episodes. Scripts this week in order from Martin Fustes, Linton Chiswick, Jane Pearson, Andrew Kirk, Sarah Bagshaw, and Karin Young. *This week's blog just features the Gabby and Diane moments* During Monday's episode, viewers saw the residents of the Dales continuing to process the tragedy of the previous week’s events. Diane Sugden and Bernice Blackstock entered the cafĂ© sharing the news about the possibility of Victoria Barton being se...

END OF AN ERA FOR DIANE SUGDEN

Tonight's episode (29th October) will see the end of an era for Emmerdale’s Elizabeth Estensen who first arrived to the Yorkshire village of Emmerdale back in 1999 as Diane Blackstock. I was a little girl when Diane Sugden first arrived but I have some extremely fond memories of the character and one thing I will always remember Diane for is her relationship with Jack Sugden which many visitors like myself enjoyed their journey, alongside many other storyline that have seen the character on a rollercoaster journey with a cancer diagnosis, the revelation of her husband at the time, Rodney Blackstock fathering her sister, Val's son, one thing I'll always remember is her scenes with the older cast members eg Alan Turner, Betty and Edna, and of course, Eric Pollard, being held hostage in The Woolpack, sleeping with Eric Pollard whilst he was married to her sister, Val, the helicopter crash in 2014 that killed her beloved sister, Diane running The Woolpack, along with many more ...

SINGLE REVIEW - KAITLYN BAKER - DRINKIN' HOURS

Tomorrow (Friday 29th October) will see singer-songwriter,  Kaitlyn Baker release her brand new single, Drinkin' Hours. You can read my interview with Kaitlyn  here . Drinkin' Hours  starts with a electric guitar instrumental giving this wonderful feel to the song. The first verse sees Kaitlyn's crisp vocal range at the forefront with this message of wanting to call that one person you are missing between their usual drinkin' hours with so much honesty also being at the forefront leaving me with many a goosebumps. You can hear that Kaitlyn is singing based on something she has seen or even experienced herself. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics that get you thinking about that situation where you met that person and the challenges that come from that occasion allowing you time to think and take it all in something I never expected I need to do within a song. The softer guitar instrumental supports the chorus fantastically adding another brilliant layer. Throu...

There is something so special and pure about...

Photo Credit: Kathy McKee Married In Vegas  has an upbeat guitar instrumental that gives off this real cool feel that I rather enjoy. The first verse sees Colleen's soft crisp vocal opening with this real sassy quirky vibe that I can't help but want to get up and dance too whilst also wanting to listen to the lyrics very carefully making it the perfect mix. The soft vocal allow the listeners to get a real feel for the song. ALBUM REVIEW - CASSADEE POPE - THRIVE

This Friday (15th October) will see US singer-songwriter,  Cassadee Pope  release her brand new album, Thrive. Thrive is made up of 13 songs. Welcome sees the album opened with an instrumental showcasing the rock side of this album from Cassadee. The electric instrumental are amazing giving us a fantastic welcome to Thrive. Same Old Brand New Me  starts with an upbeat kind of instrumental. The first verse sees Cassadee's rockier punk feel vocal range at the forefront which sees Cassadee going back to her roots in music. There is so much in the first verse that I caught myself relating with and bringing memories of my own childhood back with - I love songs that have the ability to do this. The chorus features many blink 182 feels that took me back to my childhood and hearing them on the radio. The fact that Cassadee loves that style of music shows within her songs. The gratefulness from Cassadee within the lyrics is something I appreciate. The second verse of Same Old Bran...

Image
This Friday (8th October) will see British singer-songwriting duo,  Emma and Jolie  release their brand new single, All That Glitters. You can read my interview with Emma & Jolie  here . All That Glitters  starts with a soft guitar instrumental which I have to say supports the song wonderfully throughout. The first verse sees Jolie's vocal opening up however, it's not long before Emma's vocal comes in allowing these young ladies to showcase their wonderful harmonies. There is something so magical about the vibe of this song and the way that it is written allowing for many people to be able to relate with the lyrics. I caught myself personally being able to relate to many of the lyrics featured in this verse bringing to be tears and realising that it is actually ok to feel like this. The chorus has many catchy lyrics with a sentimental meaning that you can hear Emma and Jolie are singing from the heart despite their upbeat vocal tones. The way that the chorus...
